New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

Drench Whisky Drinking Woman

I love this woman
She's the best one that I had
But she's got this habit now
And it sure is gettin' bad

This Drench drinkin' woman
Is makin' a poor man out of me

She's got bottles in the kitchen
Even got them in my bed
Most times I see her now
She's three parts out of her head
Don't know where I went wrong
I sure try to treat her right
But it sure upsets me
Seein' her juiced up every night

Start Week 9 flower

Bam! Green Eggs and Ham! :high-five:

:passitleft:
What is the theme of green eggs and ham?

It is clear that perseverance is the key to Sam-I-Am's success; we can, therefore, declare one of the themes of Dr. Seuss's masterpiece, "Green Eggs and Ham," is that if you persevere and refuse to give up, you can accomplish your goals in the end.

was just reading an article on Sativa Vs Indica and found this part interesting.

"
Sativas. Coming from regions like Southeast Asia, Colombia, and Mexico, these are plants that deal well with equatorial climates. These are very humid places. Plants have to adapt and so their physicality becomes an evolutionary consequence of their geography. Sativa plants will have slender leaves and grow tall as means of preventing the appearance of mould. This height change is more noticeable during the flowering stage. In the proper outdoor conditions, these plants can grow up to 6 metres tall.

Indicas originated in dry areas like the Middle East. Because of this, plants are shorter in height as compared to sativas, but wider and bushier as a compensation. Their leaves are broader and thicker so that sunlight is more easily caught. They have shorter flowering periods to avoid mould during the fall. Because of their morphology, indica plants can’t handle humidity very well and so they’ve learned to develop sooner. This is a selling point for a lot of growers out there and surely part of the reason pure sativas are hard to find.

"

PS Yes that is an alternate spelling of MOLD

BUT Really WHAT STRETCH
we dont have to show you any stinking stretch

Purple Haze x Malawi

Information about the growth of the plant

Flowering Time Indoor
Measured from First Pistils
At 9 weeks and still going strong

Stretch after the initiation of flowering
Maybe 10 Percent
(slow 10 day time change may have helped, along with the Far-Red)
(also left the BLUE Spectrum bulbs in until after full flower had started)
SIDE NOTE: Alternate Nodes had just begun at start of time change

Growth Behavior
Very well suited to SCROG
(NO topping or Pruning keeps the excess branching down)
(Only LST for less trouble)
(Filled 2 x 2 foot Net, No Topping at 8 week Veg)

Side Branches
a great many; average length

Not very tolerant to EWC.
does not like extra EWC (Nitrogen).

Started in 1 gal plastic pot and only up-potted after daily dunks
ONLY 1 TRANSPLANT to keep slow down at a minimum

Time change to flower was started at up-pot to the 10 gal plastic

I read and read and than only find the information after I realize it on my own :hmmmm:

Why did I not find this information earlier :(

It can take up to 13-15 weeks until Purple Haze x Malawi reaches full maturity. What can be seen as a disadvantage from a growers perspective, is actually one of the reasons why the overall bud quality is way superior to what many strains can produce, including Haze strains. This strain grows into the structure of a tall and thin Sativa, and demands low to medium amounts of fertilizers. Especially nitrogen is needed in small amounts, in comparison to other strains. Outdoor growing is only possible in tropical or subtropical climates.

OBSERVATION TIME

Things I noticed

NITROGEN

Looks like the GUAWI Wants extra Nitrogen and the PH x M wants less
Even though both were run using the EXACT same soil and amendments, even
down to the amount of Mid Run Soil FIX ( EWC added over 1 month, 4 drenches)
PURPLE HAZE x MALAWI had started a heavy leaf tip burn at end of additional EWC
AND
GUAWI handled it with no problem BUT at the 4th week after last EWC was added she
started a heavy pull from the fans and they seemed to all go yellow overnight.

I did a RESCUE DRENCH on both and ALSO added another Dixie cup of EWC to only
the GUAWI and PRESTO the GUAWI has stopped the Nitrogen pull and the damaged
leafs are actually turning a darker green at the centers were the leafs were still a bit green

END RESULT
Purple Haze x Malawi = Watch Nitrogen level, does not like extra
Guawi = WANTS Nitrogen especially Mid Flower

ROOT BALL TEMP

Been monitoring the ROOT BALL Temps during the flowering stage
(corded temp probe placed at bottom of ROOT BALL @ Up-Pot)

Just recently discovered the ROOT BALL Temp increases at LIGHTS OUT
by 1 to 2 degrees F and a bit more after a BRIX

Have not found any clues to how I can use this yet but hoping to see some
patterns as I continue to monitor. May be able to notice a relationship to TEMP
and growth patterns

Thinking I will do another CAT sequence on the PH x M She is still looking strong enough
for another boost

Just got a GE so maybe a 1/4 TP than start BACK to BACK Cats that will be another 3 or 4 weeks
which will be 13 weeks or so

Question is, Do I Want bigger or frostier :hmmmm:

Thanks Duggan :high-five:

Its really interesting to see two plants next to each other with completely different reactions
to the added EWC

The last run the GUAWI ran 13 weeks and still had plenty of energy
so considering a 10/14 light change to help them finish up if things look to go longer

13 week GUAWI (Last run) net removed

Still considering a second Cat sequence on the PH x M But need to decide if
I want bigger instead

GE= Growth
CATs = Frost
