Unprepared First Timer

Exactly and that’s most important :) I have an IPhone 7+ and the one I have won’t work with IPhones unfortunately. You have rocked your first grow! Looking forward to your future endeavors!
:popcorn::Namaste:

Dang. My phone is an 8+ but I got the tablet to draw with and stuff, so that worked out for me.

Thanks! I'm excited to get it underway. I'm probably going to end up popping more bagseeds from the same batch as these, because I'm going to harvest sooner than I thought it seems. Which isn't a bad thing. Well, that and because my cash flow is is tiiiight. And these seeds have done me well. So between the seeds and the air layered monster crop I'm working on I should be alright. :headbanger:

Absolutely! I feel ya on the cash flow too.Every time I think I’m done getting things to really make my environment perfect I realize I’m not even close  but a start is a better than nothing! Plus those bag seeds did amazing for ya so there’s definitely nothing wrong with that either.
Happy Growing!

Me too, damn Microsoft for inventing the crappy OS, Window 10. Sorry you're having the same probably with yours.

Uggh I know right! Don’t know why they have to keep messing with perfectly fine systems.

-Day 49 of Flower-
________________________________________________

Well, I'm officially a horrible Cannadad, and a monster. I let two of the ladies develop what I can only assume was/is an extreme calcium deficiency, and they started to crumble. I fed them some Calmag today, so hopefully they start feeling better.

Now, to the monster part... I done snapped a damned top bud in half! I was holding a leave to move it over as to get a better look at it, and snap. Broke that sucker off in my hand. Guess I have a test bud now at least. Weighed it out to 2 grams and have it hanging now.

Other than my crimes against cannakind, the ladies are doing swell. Still growing and getting thicker. Hopefully next week my air layered monster crop will be ready to pull off the plant. And if it didn't root, I'll just leave it there I suppose.

~Bonus Round~
________________________________________________

Just for some additional fun for those following along, let's play a game. I'm guesstimating I have another two weeks, give or take a week before flowering is done and I'll harvest these ladies. I've been wanting to host a small challenge, or game if you would. What's the name of the game?

Guess the total yield!

There maybe a small, undisclosed prize for who ever guesses the closest to the dry weight of my first harvest! Maybe! I haven't decided quite yet. The game would be open from now until I start the manicure of the buds and put them into cure.
If anyone is interested they can just post their guess here, and I'll keep notes on who guessed what.

Just some obligatory information on the grow.
It's a 3x3 tent with a Total Draw(from the wall) of 349w or 38w per square foot worth of blurple LEDs.

There are six plants, Unknown strain, seemingly indica dominant hybrid and they have all been topped at least once. Four received some LST and two grew naturally. They are all in 3gal fabric pots. Happy Frog is the majority of the medium being grown in. I used the Fox Farm basic trio for most of the ladies life, and the last two feedings have been Mega Crop, and I'll finish out the grow with Mega Crop. Epson salt was also used throughout their lives.

Remember, it's all in good fun. I just wanted to bring some interactivity to my thread, and I might do it every grow if y'all like it.

So, let the games begin?

I done snapped a damned top bud in half!
A perfect little sampler...

I'll take a piece of that action.... 3/4 oz per gallon- 378 grams in the jars...

So, I have a hermie, or multiples. A week and a half ago I took a couple popcorn buds off the bottom of a plant for a testing session with my brother. Last night I tossed them in the grinder and started cranking.

Three seeds in in two popcorn buds.
I'm guessing the seeds came off a hermed plant, so that would explain why I had such a high rate of females. It's lights off until morning so I'll inspect them then to see if I can find any nanners. I'm hoping they aren't all infected, but I'm expecting them to be, which is sad.

On a side note, the high was pretty decent. It started out with creeping grins and giggles, that turned into an uplifting happy go lucky feeling that washed over over the whole body. After about an hour of watching Netflix and bullsharting with each other it mellowed out into a slight "couch lock" effect. I went back upstairs and became one with the couch. Sleep followed shortly after.

So, while I'm sad about the herms, I'm not dissapointed with the quality of the bud so far.

Because of the herms though, I'm not sure if I want to grow any of the left over seeds I have from the same source. Or even use the potential monster crop I had in the works.

Hermies are no fun. Just deal with one last run, handful of pollen sacs right down near the main stalk, no way I could see them in the scrog. Same as yours didn't ruin the smoke, unless you miss a bean then it stinks haha.

Personally I try not to use stuff that is prone to produce hermaphrodites, but I really like chemdog and mine tosses nanners from time to time, as far as I know chemdog is more prone to hermy than some other strains are so I deal with it and try to be vigilant.

That's a bummer, it's good it didn't ruin the harvest though, because that's a lot of time down the drain.
It was a bit disheartening to find them. But I felt better after the smoke, so I'm not too upset. It's all still super frosty too.

Time to figure out what I'm going to grow now though. I'm thinking four plants in five gal pots instead of six in three. Let them veg a bit more and train them properly. I was eyeballing your bungee trellis and I liked the idea of it.

My mother-in-law knows someone who has a few mother plants I might be able to get a clone or two off. So that might sway my thinking a bit.

That's all you can do, keep on growing.

It works ok. It really needs a rigid exterior frame to hook onto, and the 3/16" cord would probably be a more appropriate size than my 1/4".

Harvest is coming in about a week so that will be the real test.

I like running clones, it's easier to manage. But running seeds is like a box of chocolates so I find myself bouncing back and forth.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice. :thumb:
Once all my ducks are lined up I plan on keeping a mother plant around and I won't have to worry about it. Just have to test for a while to see what strains are going to be keepers for me.

I'm relatively new to the whole strain game. Before it was always "body high or head high" with no names. Only recently have I got names attached to the buds I get. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm a bit behind the game. Orange Sherbet has been my favorite as of yet.

Don't feel behind. Your still going to want to try them all haha. Most strains are all a mixed up mash up of last year's flavors, that were all mix up of the year before that haha.

Your on the right track try different stuff, grow it out, see what it does for ya. Orange sherbet sounds tasty. :yummy:

Sounds like a train wreck, and no, not the strain. :straightface: I like to think I'm funny.

Oh for sure, I might have to hit you up once I grow some and let you get a sample or three.

Well, I found at least one set of nanners on four plants. Now the real question is, do I chop early to try and prevent anymore from popping up, or is it more of a "damage is done" let them finish kind of thing? All of the nanners were on lower parts of the plant, where I wasn't paying attention. Growing bud porn got me distracted.

Right where mine were lol.
It takes 6 weeks for seeds to mature. If you found seeds in a test bud the damage has already been done. The sacs in the pic look opened already, any full sacs should be pulled, the pollen can be deactivated with water.

They were all opened already. Dang. It is what itis then. At least it's still pretty dank.

I'm laughing at the way you worded that, but not laughing about snapping your one of your best bud's off. :(

Your plants look great.
I have a question, are you talking the really cool photos of them in the dark?
I thought of doing the same, bit was afraid of the flash doing some kind of "Hermi" effect on them at this critical point in their lives.
