DC's First Indoor Multi-Strain

Well friends, tomorrow I leave on a plane with the family to Jamaica for a week. Wish me luck - 2 adults and 3 toddlers aged 3, 4, 5!
Have a great flight and stay safe for all Dee! Make sure the airlines whey the baggage properly so you don't get charged extra.

Its good to be home!

I'm happy to report it was a great trip, the kids were very well behaved on the plane aside from squirimg all over me. We were very busy keeping up with all three kids, it certainly was a trip for them and not for us lol. But enjoying the experience with them was well worth the money.

Also happy to report my plants were well taken care of. The only slight issues encounter3d were that he taped my carbon filter back on which I had undone because it clogged. Obviously he did not know better and thought he was helping. The result was a little higher humidity up to around 50 percent, tempts did max at 29 or 30 but no higher and likely a little less air flow them the plants would've liked. They seemed to have been okay though, Ive put these babies through quite a bit they are resilient. The nute solutions I left for my friend were a little too hot as well I had the Bloom up to 8ml per gallon. This I saw via some burnt tips low on the plant, not many though. Yesterday and today I gave them both 3gallons each of plain water. I will do the same again tonight and then follow up with a mild nutrient dosage that I will stay at for the rest of the grow.

The good news is...they got huge!!! Man they swelled nicely in a weeks time. It is amazing after checking on them pretty much daily how much of a difference a week makes. The colours are absolutely beautiful, especially on the Hulk Bud plant a deep purple has taken over the majority of the plant aside from the concentrated sugar leaves at the bud sites.

Under the microscope I can spot the odd amber trichome head hiding among mostly cloudy with some clear. I think I'm about a week out from harvest. I really want to have patience on this harvest to make sure they fully ripen. I don't have a great scope to get pictures from but I will try tonight.

Without further ado:

TO#2 you'll notice has a support. I was spinning her to get water in the back and a cola caught on my clip on fan. Luckily no real damage just bent out of shape so a few handy supplies fixed her up. She is a greener phenotype but absolutely dusted with trichomes!

Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to the harvest on this one. It's been a very informative learning experience full of lessons leaned the best way - through mistakes. I'm ready to ramp up and apply to the next grow, just waiting on some seeds from Seedsman to come in!

Spot the ambers! I did the best I could holding my resin coated little jewelers loupe up to my phone. What do you guys think?

I spotted barely a lick of amber on the calyxes, but it would be a good idea to clean the loupe with rubbing alcohol :).

Good tip I'll do that tonight and keep an eye on the ambers.

Your plants look great bro!!

happy to see they survived the caretaking of your buddy’s!

awesome to hear you had such a good trip! It definitely sounded fun! Next time let’s work on a kid free vacation yeah? :high-five:

Yessir we are looking at an adventure trip to Costa Rica for me and the wife next year!

Week 9 of Flower

Tonight I watered to 20 percent runoff again with a reduced dose of mostly bloom with a touch of micro. I've been watering this week to significantly more runoff to ensure the soil gets a good flushing of any unused buildup and a freshly introduced low dose of nutrients for the home stretch. No science behind this it just feels right lol. The girls are getting their fall colours kn hard. Even TO2 is starting to rapidly develop that beautiful dark purple and TO1 is even starting to look almost black.

TO2 seems to be pushing out some new yellowish white pistils in what may be a second wave that will hopefully lead to another late bloom swell? Any thoughts on These?

Here's a few more trichome shots after a thorough alcohol swab cleaning of my scope.

Lastly some more overheads and A bud showing what I think in foxtailing as well as my buddy Hulk Bud turning a deep purple. I am absolutely amazed at how magnificent these girls have turned out. I definitely did not expect this and am overjoyed everytime I spend some time in my garden. The smells are heavy and very pleasant. It's almost like that gasoline smell that shouldn't smell good to you but it does!

I thought I'd add a quick update on the Blue Dream girl I had very nearly gave up on. I switched her over to Megacrop and quickly ramped up to 6.5gm per gallon. When I got back from vacation I noticed her leaves were a very deep green and twisting a bit so I gave her two water only 2gallon splashed in 2 days followed by yesterday and today 5gm per gallon feeds. Other than that she seems to actually be bulking up after all even if way behind the other two. There may be hope yet! Here are a few shots note that they are under my QB light so you can't see the deep green except in pic 2.

I only wish I was able to spread her out some more as all the colas are clustered so close together and the leaves are so damn fired up they shadow so much of the stalks. Oh well I learned a lot from persisting with her

They look great Dee. I'm glad you'll be in trim jail for them and not me! :)

Thanks Mr.S and I won't mind one bit. I haven't grown enough to not enjoy trimming yet haha. These girls will be testing me though as I was pretty light on the defoliation until I get more comfortable and experienced!

If you start with the toughest ones first the rest seem easy :thumb:

They look great DC, and cleaning that loupe was a brilliant idea :). I'm seeing more amber and a lot of cloudy, so the chop date is nigh.

You answered your own question here:
what I think in foxtailing
Those are foxtails. Bonus trichomes that make trimming a bit harder! They are the plant's last ditch effort to grab some pollen out of the air. But don't check them for ripeness or the original buds will get overripe while you wait, so watch the main calyxes. Some plants will foxtail for weeks if you don't chop them!

Sage advice. I did that with my outdoor grow trim this fall but I liked to keep the very biggest cola until last as something to look forward to after 877 little stalks with popcorn!

All of the above is great news! Good to know about checking the main calyxs I wouldn't have known that. I think we are lining right upnicely for a good ol Canadian Hockey Night in Canada Saturday night trim fest!

Thank you guys both And @Backlipslide and @Pennywise for being so helpful through this journal! I see how busy you guys all over this forum in many peoples journals so I really appreciate it and it has made this grow and starting out in general significantly more enjoyable and easier than it would've been, especially if I only had HippyCanuk to listen too
