First Closet Grow!

I am subbing this grow. I am interested to see what I can learn for my next grow. Keep up the good work.
As far as topping or FIMing, I think you can as the plant is looking hearty enough, but do not take this noobs word for it...

Thanks TG!
Im thinking about FIM when im doing LST on her in a couple of days :thumb:

Good luck with your own grow man! :cheesygrinsmiley:

:peace:

After my debacles of the past, I'm all pro-lst and scrog. Not so keen on FIM'ing or topping really (although I accidently {is that possible?} 1/2 FIM'ed the top of my Drizella last night.) If I had to choose? I think I'd FIM as it seems to stress the plant less than a full topping. Just this newbs 2 cents. :)

Thanks for stopping by Korloin!
Yeah, im going to first LST her, and after that maybe do a FIM :thumb: Im a litte scared to stress the plant to much altso. Some news: The Big Bud Clone is in the closet :cheesygrinsmiley: Hopefully she will survive :blunt:

:peace:

LST her :) just tie her down to one side and see what sort of new growth she produces and then work with that, I would probably just top each new scoot when they grow out a bit and train them and that would probably be enough.

With my plants I noticed that new growth was able to resume much quicker when Topped compared to when Fimmed, When you top you end up with 2 colas and when you fim properly you should end up with 4 smaller colas but in my opinion I think 4 colas on 1 branch is a bit too crowded, 2 colas from being topped seems to be just enough room to fit 2 nice big colas but its up to you :)
Your plants are looking lovely and healthy by the way, keep up the good work :thumb:

The girl are now LST'ed :cheesygrinsmiley:
Its my first LST and I was a little worried that I would bend it too much.

What do you think about the LST? Do the fans take all the light, and nothing hits the stem, Is this okay? :helpsmilie:

I'm going to Amsterdam on sunday :cheer:
Any suggestions of a good seed bank?

Here is a list of the strains I´m going to try to find:
Green House Lemon Skunk Feminised Seeds
Green House Himalayan Gold Feminised Seeds
Serious AK47 Feminised Seeds
Advanced Biodiesel Mass Autoflowering
Bomb THC Bomb Feminised Seeds
Barneys Vanilla Kush Feminised Seeds
Barneys Pineapple Chunk Feminised Seeds
Barneys Blue Cheese Feminised Seeds
Dutch Passion Power Plant Feminised Seeds
NYC Diesel
Scywalker OG

Any suggestions and comments are welcome :welcome:

:peace:

Well it looks like you took the LST route ... a fine choice. I frequently top my plants sometimes 3-4 times. This creates a bush and sometimes will self scrog with its own leaves

Nice! I might move the fans out of the way to expose the inner growth along the stem more. They still need the light too, but that will allow more penetration and faster growth on yer innards. :$

The only bank I'm personally familiar with is the one I got my beans from. But they're not a sponsor, so I really don't want to break etiquette Re: my fave forums support. :). PM me if you want though!

Hi Buckshot!
I will try that man!
Would you recommend me to start topping my plant now? I have posted som pictures from today.

:peace:

Nice job on the LST :)

You could top her now but I would wait until she develops some new shoots and when they are a few inches long and a bit stronger you can top each of them, that is what I done for my girls.

My journal should basically have a step by step view in pictures on what I done if you want to have a look its close to the start :)

I would probably just cut off that 1 leaf that is shading the stem to expose the length of it to the light, It will promote much more branching.

Hi Greenfingers!
Just the one leaf? Or what do you think now after these days? I just uploaded some new pics :cheesygrinsmiley:

Im checking out the cook book (your grow journal) now :blunt:

Looking good mate; a really nice healthy plant.

And great use of the wardrobe; very stealth! Heat's a bugger in that size space though isn't it? I'm on a 125w CFL to minimise problems with heat but ideally would like to get an HPS for flowering, but I just think I'll be having no end of issues. How are you finding your air cooled HPS in that space? I'm going to see how the cfl does on a couple of grows before changing anything, but I'm also considering an LED if the cfl doesn't deliver.

Hi Green Knight! Thanks man!! :thanks:

I've put in some hours of thinking before starting on the wardrobe, so thanks again :cheesygrinsmiley:
This is the first time using the closet, so i dont know how big of a problem the HPS system will be one the heat. I have installed the ballast outside the wardrobe, so the only heat will be from the 150 Watt bulb. I will try to not use the Cool Tube before I really see that I need it. It will be a little struggle getting it in there...So maybe just buy a 250Watt 2700K CFL and use it through flowering instead :geek:

I'm thinking a lot about LED myself! I saw they use it in Amsterdam and im convinced it is working if you buy it from a serious producer.

Thanks for joining in man!!

:peace:

The time thinking and planning is worth it though, and part of the fun I reckon.

LEDs seem to get very mixed opinions from people, some saying they're great and others saying they're a waste of time. From the pictures I've seen they seem to produce perfectly nice looking plants and buds so I'm very tempted to try one. Agree with you though that it's probably only worth considering one from a decent supplier and spending the money on it, rather than getting one of these budget versions you can find on the net. One thing they do seem to do is make fantastic bud porn photos - there's something about that red/purple LED glow that makes photos of buds look even more tasty!!

Welcome back!!

Looking BUSHY!!!:rocker:

IMHO, whatever you can't tie down, remove. As long as you don't remove more than 50% of the leaves the plant won't die.
Just remember that the leaves help to create energy for food production, so don't take too many and try to take as few as possible that can receive direct light. You definitely want to expose the growth on your stalk as much as possible now though. You'll find your balance. Do what feels right and you'll more than likely be just fine. (It's been a hard learn for this one to trust his judgements :) ) After all, YOU have the most intimate knowledge of your girl. ;)
