First Grow - Indoor Now - Outside & Inside Later

Hello all

I have often thought of growing because I have more friends that use weed than don't, but never really bothered trying because I didn't smoke myself.

After a lot of research into the medical uses, pain relief etc, I have decided to try growing and seeing if I can grow something for mine and my wife's medical issues.

So the journey and learning begins.

>5 strains: THC Bomb, Cluster Bomb, Cherry Bomb, Big Bomb and ACDC(?)

>All seeds started in Coco coir pellets

>After they popped their heads, pellets moved to 2" coco pots with seed starter mix

>After roots appeared the coco pots were put into clear pots with more seed starter mix

>After about a week and I could see a lot of roots through the pots, I transplanted them into 2 1/2 gallon containers with Pro-Mix Allpurpose

>The grow room is about 40" square and 42" high with CFL lighting

And that's about up to date as of yesterday

I will add pictures later today.

Any questions, comments, advice etc will be much welcomed as this is all new to me LOL

Thanks in advance

These are the THC Bomb girls that were planted 03/23

They aren't very tall, about 4", but bushy

Here's a closeup below

For those of you who are experienced growers, how are they looking at 3 wks from seed?

Thanks

Thanks Professor

I think I am going to wait a few days before I start making any cuts and LST. I would like to try cloning as well. I would like to see them stretch up some more so I have more space to work. I tied flies when I was younger but now my hands are not as steady as they used to be LOL

Thanks mate

LOL I take it from your name maybe your ancestors came from the NE and relocated south LOL

RC

Nah, 100% southern.
Paternal side is Cajun...maternal side highland Scots.

I actually have to set lights in the lower half of the closet asap as I am running out of room. I now have those four plus 9 cherry bomb, 2 cluster bomb, 3 big bomb and half a dozen unknowns in quart pots in there as well and its getting crowded

I have 25 23w cfls, 9 are 2700k and 16 6500k.

Reading lots of posts and just natural thoughts about actual sunlight, I decided that a mix might be better. Its all new to me and lots of experimentation

RC

I love how big and healthy they are, mine are just 10 days old but u just insipired me to mix my spectrum too and I will do that first thing in the morning :)

Will be following your grow, keep it up

Medicus

Thanks for the complement

My grandfather grew awesome vegetable gardens and was a rose specialist for a local nursery. I used to spend a lot of time with him in the garden and the woods when I was younger (35+ yrs ago). I am hoping his green thumb was passed down to me ;)

I will post some more photos shortly the upper half of my grow closet and the lights.

Pictures of my grow room closet.

The room is actually bigger than the closet. It was an old cold room we never used and I converted it to a grow area. I kept one end dedicated to a grow closet and the rest for soils, etc but now it seems I need part of the extra for a nursery because the upper half of the closet is crowded and I need to use the lower half as grow area too.

Upper half is 40" x 42" by 36" high (to lights)

Upper lights
25- 23 watt cfls...mixed 16 6500k and 9 2700k Sylvania...total of 575 watts and 4200 Lux at plant tops

I could no doubt do better with HID but for heat issues, or LEDs but the expense for a first time grow. Considering LEDs next time if this grow goes well. I have a hard time managing heat with just the cfls. I put an extra exhaust fan in to bring the heat down. I was running high 80s to 90 before and now at high 70s to low 80s.

Lower half with a 4 23w cfl light hood for cloning

My first clones at 2 days old

I will be moving the clones and hood out to make room for more grow area in here using 20-23w cfls

These are photos of some regular seed plants I have. I will say unknown strain because although I purchased them for a specific strain, I highly doubt I received what I requested and germination was EXTREMLY poor.

MY question: can anyone identify what the problem is with these plants? Leaves turning yellow and brown spots.
I only have 2 plants showing this and all my plants have been treated the same. Over all they seem to be growing well.

Thanks in advance
