Figure the plant will at least double in size when flipped. Leave room for space between the light and the top of the plant. I would think between 12”-18” would be close.
 
When I worked in the sawmill we put bread sacks on over our socks. It works!
i worked at a saw mill too. we made floor boards, door panels and piano casings. and on a few occasions we planed tables that were filled with clear resin and small dinosaur skeletons. it didn't happen often but when it did that was the highlight of the day.
 
here is an update on my plant. i tucked the fan leaves under the new branches so they could get some light.

day 36. and still doing good. weather outside sucks

16 below last night didn't get above zero today. I spent 3 hours snowblowing today and broke the belt that turns the auger blades. fortunately my wife gave me the idea of bringing it into the house to fix it rather than doing out in the cold. this weather can just go to hell.
