HG & FP's Summer 2017 Grow - Freedom - CB Dutch Treat - Durban Poison

Wooooohooooooo Productions just arrived...HAHAHAHA...my husband laughed so hard.
You both have had such a huge positive impact on my life that I feel really blessed to be alive.
THANK YOU! Sorry for yelling...lol ;):thanks:

Hey growtohealme,

Yelling in happiness is ok. Yelling in anger is not. Yelling in frustration gets you hugs from everybody.

Peace. :peace:

Hi FP and HG. Just subbed in. Wishing you great success on your new grow!

Welcome aboard Old Fart! Its getting cozy in here, might have to open the window soon.

Peace. :peace:

:welcome: to our second grow journal, Jim. I'm looking forward to the Durban Poison as well. I wanted it because I heard it gives you a great buzz without the munchies and I definitely like the sounds of that.

Pull up a chair anywhere you and we'll try to make it worth your while.

I'm subbing :) want to see how that Durban Poison does. I've seen variety's listed with flower times anywhere from 8 wks to 120 days! and lord knows I'm too impatient for that.

Hi All,

Here a few pics.

Dutch 1 & 2 along with Durban 1 went in the soil yesterday (May 10 2017). Durban 2 seed hadn't popped yet.

You can see Freedom 1 & 2 are coming along. I think I may have over watered Freedom 1. But I think it is showing signs of recovery. See, I can learn patience!

Sorry about the out of focus, I think next time I will change the lens.

Freedom 3 & 4 went into 4" pots today. No pics because the camera battery died.

We are still waiting on Freedoms 5, 6, 7 and 8 as well as Durban to sprout.

I put one of our tree cuttings in soil today. I hope it takes. Might turn into a gardener yet.

Peace. :peace:

Freedom 2 is a stunner Felonious. May it be a female. :cheesygrinsmiley: When I have seedlings I let them dry to wilting. It took some practice to get past the incessant need to keep them happy with more water, but I persisted in training myself and eventually Doc Bud and the guys taught me to be brave. :laughtwo: My plants have thanked me ever since.

The second Durban popped this morning as a nice little birthday present for me today. Have a good one, everyone! I'm going out for a pedicure.

:circle-of-love:

:welcome: DobeWan (Star Wars fan, I presume?)!

What kind of strains is your wife looking for?

:welcome: Lady Antheia and :thanks: for the birthday wishes.
Star Wars and Dobermans are both things I like!

I'm a little hesitant to throw too much information out there until she's legal too, but my wife has pretty serious chronic joint pain but can't medicate with cannabis for at least a few more months so we haven't gotten her a prescription. She currently has not gotten her symptoms to remission and has to take steroids for flares. She doesn't like the heavy indica high, because she hates the tiredness and munchies. We have a bag of Overgrow seeds too but haven't grown any yet. I have some LP strains set aside from her to try (a CBD Medihaze and a CBD Kush). But my ultimate goal is to make CBD oils for her. I'm just hesitant to grow anything for her until she can try them and see what works. I'd grow Cannatonic immediately if we knew it'd help, but we have to wait to see.

I have joint pain as well and the CBD Medi-Haze is awesome for it. The first time I vaped some, my knee was at about an 8/10 on the pain scale and in less than 2 minutes, the pain went down to about a 2. It was so cool.

Learning about all the ways that cannabis can help heal is so interesting and I've gotta tell you that making my own medicine (canna-infused oils and capsules) is so empowering.

Who's your LP? Tweed or someone else?

Congrats, that's a fantastic result. Prednisone is all my wife has found yet that takes the edge off like that but you can bet I'll sell her on the MediHaze when she's good to go. It'll be an easy sell - Prednisone works well but isn't nice to be taking for a long period. But we have limited treatment options for the next few months for other reasons.

Joining the LP system was eye opening in that respect for me. I had no idea how powerful infused vegetable oil would be for me. Morning was always the worst time for my IBS - 15mg of indica oil before bed has been a game changer. I was speaking with a guy a couple of weeks ago who was selling me on CBD topical ointment and how it'll help my wife's joints a lot.

Who's your LP? Tweed or someone else?

Yes - you as well? I'm adding Broken Coast when I renew next week, but I'm going to see if my doc will up my script to add a third. The system is so flawed - I'm really worried about running out of oil and not being able to get more. I feel like I have no choice but to move to growing my own to guarantee my supply. And I fear supply is going to be a bigger issue in the early days of recreational use. They can't keep up with medical demand now, what happens when recreational demand is added?

Hi All,

I got Durban 2 into the soil tonight. I also put Freedom 5 & 6 into soil tonight. So all 6 of the main grow are in pots in the tent, with 5 of them sprouted. So far, so good.

Freedom 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 are all going into 4" pots. Not sure what is going to happen to these but I'm hoping to have the last two in soil by the end of the weekend. If Freedom 1 and or Freedom 2 come up male one of the others will replace them. We are nearing tent capacity and will have to start developing a plan for these by month's end.

Peace. :peace:

Prednisone is a very good medication for reducing inflammation and pain. I was on it for about two years and for me, personally, it was a wonder drug. I had been in so much pain prior to going on it that I could barely walk on my own but I know how hard it is on a person to be on a long time. I'm glad I'm not on it anymore but I'm not sorry that I had to use it when I needed it.

I hope your and your wife's treatment options improve soon.

I've made my own pain cream with cannabis and it's really awesome, too! Last night, I was super achy (both shoulders, both elbows, both ankles, my left knee and my baby and ring fingers on my left hand so even that I took about 1 ml of Hash Plant cannaoil before bed like I usually do, I ended up taking two 1 ml capsules of my daytime cannaoil, bediol around 12:30 a.m. and then rubbed cream on all my sore parts and between the two of them, I felt so much better. When you're ready to make your own oil and cream, there are two good threads here on 420 that will help you with both:

Magnus8's Canna Cream - Body Butter - & Canna Lotion Study Hall

And, there's also a CBD Community Grow Journal that you might like to follow if you're planning on growing your own:

It was the CBD Medi-Haze that gave it away.
:laughtwo: I don't know if other LPs carry it or not.

Although, that said, I'm not all that impressed with the selection at Tweed these days. They might have joined up with a whole bunch of other LPs but they seem to be selling a lot of high THC indicas, which is so not what I'm looking for. If they're supposed to be selling
medical marijuana then they should sell more strains with CBD in it, in my opinion and I agree with you that it's only going to get worse when recreational becomes law. That's why I'm happy we're growing our own now but I still buy from Tweed when I need to but I don't buy their oils anymore because their prices are highway robbery and my own costs half the price.

Anyhow, nice to make your acquaintance. What part of Canada are you in? Felonious and I are in south/southwestern Ontario.

Welcome Canada Guy,

We are honoured to have you join us.

I think you might be the 2nd Albertan to come through the door. I think the first is from Edmonton way.

Please pick a spot and settle in. As noted before it can get loud in here with the horn tooting, yelling and loud music. If it gets too much for you, we have ear plugs over by the kitchen.

Peace. :peace:

Thank you for the warm welcome. There are quite a few Canadians growing here.

My wife's family doctor didn't really set things in motion quite quickly enough, so her pain was building when she finally got to see the right specialist and started Prednisone, and it has at least allowed her some normalcy while she works her way through the options. She's isn't quite a year into that and hasn't found the right option yet. She's just gotten approved for the pricey stuff so we're hopeful once that starts we'll move the needle again. I'm confident we'll find the right mix in time - it's just a slow process to work through, and we haven't even gotten to the best bets yet.

Thank you for your vote of confidence. And thank you for your links. I will keep those in mind when the time comes, and I don't think it'll be too far off. My wife gets the symmetrical pain in those spots too, and I'm really excited for how it might respond to the various CBD options we can work up. A guy I was chatting with about it even suggested I could make topical indica oil and rub it on my sore spots when I get stomach cramps from IBS. 5 years ago I wouldn't have imagined this might be something I'd realistically be trying and benefiting from.

I think you hit the nail on the head with Tweed. Seems they're really using medical as an avenue to test out how they'll approach recreational, which is sad for us.

Eastern Ontario here! I love this time of year here, although my sinuses sometimes disagree. I'm a big fan of concert season in Ontario, music and summer go so well together, so I'll have to check out your blog.

Great to meet you guys too, best of luck with your grow, and thank you for the good vibes for mine!

Yes, mucho Canucks. Nice to have connections that don't span international borders. Not dissing our American and International friends, we are just different, with different laws and circumstances. Strength through diversity.

Peace. :peace:
