Dear Friends,

I have still not solved the riddle of the rotated photograph. They were right before uploading.

Besides that, everything is going great with this grow. I took pictures at various intervals but never uploaded anything.

I've removed the CFL's that can be seen in some photos. They were adding too much heat. I experimented with removing the glass from my air cooled hood which seemed to increase the light intensity, but the plants started acting funny in about 3 days with new foxtail-like growth and canoeing leaves at the top. I replaced the glass and all is well; temperatures are under control now. I even had to switch from lights on during the day to lights on overnight to combat high temps. Next grow will be in a tent in the basement.

Today is day 60 since 12/12, and all plants were flowering within (I'd say) a week of flip.

I was ready to cut them down after only about 45 days, thinking they were done somehow. There were some red hairs, and with the microscope I could see cloudy and amber trichomes on some samples, but I think I was missing the big picture. At that point I think I was underwatering, but not on purpose. The soil wouldn't soak up enough water in the upper part of the pot. I would give a lot of water at once and it would just wash right through to the drains. So i added a few drops of "free and clear" dish detergent to the water with the molasses and sprayed the soil evenly until it was wet, THEN went in with the watering can. It made all the difference. The soil soaked up SO much more water this way. A week later there were new roots visible in my clear pots growing up towards the top of the soil which had been too dry pretty much the whole grow. The plants are still obviously growing new flowers every day and continue to grow bigger each day. I keep waiting and waiting for some obvious sign of maturity. They just keep getting heavier. I may have to do some supports on a couple of them.

What else...

OOh, I found a few nanners at one point. Picked them out and haven't seen anymore. Weird things. I wonder why they do that if they aren't capable of even making seeds.

AND! 6 of the 10 clones I took at 2 weeks flowering have rooted and are growing new growth. It seems like I have a couple of decent strains from this bag seed grow and I will not be disappointed to keep a mom of the Lemony one (#8 I call her) or the stubby one (#9).

I really do apologize for the rotated photos. It bums me out but I can't figure out why this happens.

Anyways, Thanks for watching. I'm hoping to harvest in the next 7-10 days. At least, some of the plants. I have a lot of different time frames going on. Maybe someone can shed some light on if anything is starting to look ripe in that closet. :thanks:

Hello again!!

I have tried and tried to get my photos to upload with the correct orientation. I am obviously incapable. I guess I need to be taking landscape photos all the time. Either way, they are photos and I am putting them in here!

Since my last post I have harvested 4 plants. I began noticing an increase in the number of nanners. These were all bag seed plants, so it is to be expected. One of my favorites ( a little stubby purple indica thing) self pollinated and has given me 10 good seeds. These staminate flowers were at the base of low nodes below all the pistillate flowers. I do not mind this kind of Hermaphrodite. For my next grow I can easily use a product like "Florel" to provide Ethylene to prevent staminate flowers from appearing. Thus, I have "clone" seeds (if I'm not mistaken) and I can grow seedless fairly easily.

I've harvested 25 grams dry from plant #9, and 60 grams dry from plant #4. I haven't done a good job of identifying which plants are which. I will do better next time.

Plants 7 & 8 are currently hanging at 55% RH.

The curing of 4 & 9 is going well.

2 plants are still flowering, with a fair amount of foxtails on one. It just looks natural. Maybe some sativa genetics? I have no idea. Lots of white hairs STILL, but mostly cloudy trichomes. Seem to get heavier by the day. I think I'll just wait and see.

I almost forgot to document my attempt at taking clones from flowering plants with nothing but soil and water. I guess because up until this point there had been very little action. Well, I have news...It worked! And very well. With 100% success, I humbly add.

I will be monster cropping 3 of the most vigorous and saving several more as mothers once I decide which bud I like the most! They are all plenty potent for my tastes!

Here's a nice group shot under the HPS.

Thanks for watching!

I'll be back with updates.:thanks::party:

I'm still alive!!

I apologize for the lack of updates, but everything has been going great!

I've reorganized my closet and improved the airflow. The window AC in the lung room has helped me keep the grow room at 70*F when it's 100*F outside. I've installed a 5 gallon drip irrigation system that will help me water more efficiently. I've also installed a screen. This will be my first attempt at a SCROG. Every strain I have growing produced male "hermie" flowers at some point, so I will be spraying with "florel" at some point before flower.

I've also installed a new raised floor and vinyl flooring to allow me to draw air under my closet door and keep my hardwood floor dry. Drawing air under the door and filtering it through some cheesecloth should solve my pet-hair-in-the-buds problem.

Not only are temps easier to control, but I also have no more light leaks and the system just runs better.

My previous grow netted almost 1lb. dry. This next grow will be better. I am excited. Love this hobby!.

You guys won't get rid of me that easy! I know it's months between posts, and besides my journal I'm pretty useless around here.

Anyways, an update:

Same strains, about 5-6 weeks flowering.

Still getting Neptune's Harvest 2-6-4 fish fertilizer for roses and flowering.

I must say, this grow is going much better. The Air conditioner in the main room keeps temps between 65-75 all the time. Also, SCROG!

Wow! what a great way to control the height!

Flipped 12/12 on 7/7. These were taken 8/12.

These were taken on 8/19. I replaced the HPS with MH both for photo purposes and because I read that it might help with resin production. Who knows? what could it hurt?

I also built a CFL fixture. Something legit. 16 bulbs in one fixture, if I so desire. We'll see how it goes. Working well so far. Maybe I'll detail it in a future post. I built a veg room in the closet where the flower room exhaust goes. Air goes in one room, through the closet with flowering plants, into the veg room, and out into the other room. This system works very well, keeps veg room temps high during the dark period and low during day.

Also, I only use the "Gas Lantern" routine for veg. I've found that it keeps plants in veg but just on the cusp of flowering at all times.

Anyways, I'm sorry that I don't contribute to the forum other than to use it as my personal journal. I've learned a lot on the forums in the past year. I've had more success than I ever dreamt from a few bagseeds and a $1000 investment. :thanks:
