Newbie Growing: What Have I Done!

So I stuffed 230ppm down one of their throats earlier, 3 gallons to be exact, bought a 20 gallon tub so will fill that tomorrow and flush more of them the same way. Fed the others with the usual amount of water but with the same low ppm, hopefully they'll try to use what's in their pots if I feed them less than they need, I'm hoping that's how it'll go or are the nutes locked together and just sitting in coco?

Hallelujah! Amber trichomes!! They seem to be in little clusters here and there, but I'm not fussed. They appeared pretty fast on my autolimes, wish my microscope was more clear and could take some pictures, but in all honesty the auto's aren't worth it! So many problems and so little in actual bud, but they do smell pretty zesty! One good thing is that the flush I did brought the ppm from 4550 down to 875! I'm hoping/praying that I can bring it right down to less than 100 in the next 7-10 days! Checking my Northern lights and cbd mass later, saw 1 or 2 ambers a couple of days ago so will check again, not sure how fast they begin to turn once it starts, but looking promising. I'll start flushing with 20% ambers and hope it'll be around 75% by the end of the flush!!

Looking bright though!! :)

So fed the girls with 300 ppm of 1-1-1.2 and a little molasses, might just make a bottle of full strength nutes so that'd have everything in it including bud candy and water it down to 400ppm, that way they'll get much needed phosphorus, but the strange thing is they don't look deficient really, a few dead leaves about but they look happy. Will post better pics soon!

Hi people!! :D I'm back!!

Well after my PC decided to die on me last week, and as I have no mobile, I've had no way of writing here, so now have a tablet so I can write here again and write my daily feedings down. Have left the feeding around 300ppm so that it's easier to remember and pH'd to 5.6 each time.

So...my 2 autolimes that are pathetically miserable have been flushing for about a week now, one of them is 80ppm and the other down to 150ppm so will flush 2 more days and pop them in my other tent for 2 days of darkness before I cut them down. One thing that I'm contemplating is the controversial bud washing, does anyone here do it? Have got a 70 x 70 x 200 to dry them in, will put a 6" inlet fan at the bottom, a 6" outlet fan at the top and my little dehumidifier inside at 50%, see if I I can dry them for a week or so before jarring them up for curing. Am home for a while so can open them 3 times a day for the first week, then twice a day in week 2 & 3, once a day in wk 4 , twice a week in wk 5 & 6. Is that too slow? Would love to know your experiences on drying and curing ;)

As for my other 5, they are plodding along quite nicely!! One rookie mistake/oversight that I made was to the flowering time! I was wondering why my plants are going past their expected flower date, but I'm waiting for amber trichomes, not when they're at their most potent, which explains everything and has calmed my nerves as to why they're not turning amber yet :) will check after another week and see how far they've turned, all I can do is wait! My northern lights is nearly ready to start flushing, nugs have gone rock hard and looking pretty happy! My ice breaker is getting bigger, as is my CBD Mass, Medikit is on its second swell and bulking quite quickly, and my auto sour diesel is little but sweet! Looking small but good, frosty buds all down it :) am borrowing a camera later so will hopefully get a few snaps on here in a few hours, the colours look great on them!!

I do the bud washing here. Think of cleaning the fans for the grow area, that same air was all around the plants. I am not sure what would be water soluble on the plant we would want so lets rinse the dust off.

So here are my 2 miserable autolime..

Last night I flushed my 2 autolimes for the 8th day, poured a little bit through so I had enough run off to take a reading, the fist was 39ppm and the second one was 78ppm, considering my tap water is 28-35ppm I'd say that's a pretty good result!! Going to finish the drying tent later, waiting on my 2 fans though, should be here tomorrow and can get it all sorted! Does anyone here keep them in darkness for 48 hours before harvesting? Is there a big difference?

Thanks bud :) I'll look up the best mixes to do and give it a go! To be honest I have a window open so it gets fresh air constantly, well apart from the night, gets a bit chilly in the Highlands! I check my COBs and they have a tiny amount of dust on them so will be a good idea to give them a bath! Like you said, if it's soluble then might not be wanted ;)

So here are my 2 miserable autolime..
Ahhh dont beat yaself up over a couple wafty autos mate. You can look at an auto funny and she'll go funky on ya lol. I do like autos and some breeders do em well but photos are much easier to control. Once an autos stunted its hard to get it back....
I say dont let it beat you up cos LOOK AT THOSE GIRLS! awesome job on those photoperiods. That medikit looks naughty!

Problem is I have a larger dehuey in my 4 x 4 which is in the same room, but my optic 6 sends the temp soaring to 30+ Celsius (over 86F) so have to keep it open to keep it around 23 -25 (73 - 77), but because it's open the dehuey dries the whole room and not just the tent.

Will 19 Celsius (67F) be too cold for the flowering plants? Otherwise I'm going to have to find somewhere else to dry them.
Thought I would take this out of newty's thread and answer here. 19ºC isn't too cold for lights off, as an approximate 8º C shift from day to night is ideal. I dry mine in a box (with holes for airflow) because I don't have a dark space otherwise. And you can stick it in another room with a fan on the holes if that helps with the RH problem.

Cheers matey! Yeah the I'm pretty happy with the photo plants, but didn't know those two autos wanted 20 hours light throughout! Greedy madams!! I'm hoping for over 10oz altogether, so fingers crossed

Thanks so much for the crucial info bud! I'm hoping to keep the room steady at 19 and the lights will warm up the flowering plants, leaving it cool enough for the the drying ones. I have 12 holes in a vacuum cleaner box, should I just keep them in there and burp once a day for 20 minutes?

If you have a fan nearby you can put it on low and aim it at the holes. I leave them hanging until the stems bend but don't quite snap. Then they go into jars with meters. What happens next is highly dependent on your ambient relative humidity. If you have low RH you can jar around 70% (as you mentioned in newty's thread) and burp them down over another week. Make sure you keep a close eye on the meter when you first jar them as it may be higher than you think. If it's in the mid-high 70s I'd take them out of the jar and put them back in the box for more drying.

If they come in around 70% then start burping a few times a day to make sure they don't mold as they get down to the low 60s. I use Boveda packs (62%) that I add for the cure to stabilize the RH across all the buds in the jar.
