Outdoor Sativa Cultivation At 39N Inland, At 2950 Feet, 900 Metres, Altitude

26-June-2022 :

King Congo
(Congo Point Noire X South African Ciskei; Tropical Seeds Company; nacida/born 15-Mayo).

I already told you how, one more year, it shows its sex when it is only one month old, even ahead of a lot of indicas. I am also waiting to see if, like other times, as soon as it "detects" the shortening of the daylight hours, it starts to flower... Of course, then it is not ready in my area and climate until (at least the earliest "fenos" I've seen) the middle of November ...
It is not only taller than the rest of the contemporary plants, but also the most branched, and by far: here I have already cut the 2 lower nodes (four twigs). On the other plants the branches barely point out, and are almost impossible to cut.
(The whitish spots that can be seen are due to the spraying of diatomaceous earth):

I'll take you up on that! :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm definitely a sativa lover. Actually, it's more like I don't like my weeds polluted with indicas, y'know? I want the buzz. I want to be able to hit it whenever I want without being worried about lethargy - getting stoned out.

I've grown dozens, including a lot of the Ace catalog, and Destroyer (Cannabiogen) is one of my favorites. The last one I grew favored the Thai side and it was spectacular. I grew a few different Zamaladelicas and liked them - fruitier than I thought they'd be. And I recently sampled a Lilly from Delicatessen - mostly Congo - and that was very nice - calmer than the other Africans I've had. I ran a Ciskei/Bushmans that was nice and trippy but not very potent. An Oldtimers cross that went forever and turned out pretty well, but it was a full-on Haze buzz - very disorienting - had to be careful smoking that one. Also ran a DrGrinspoon (Oregon Purple Thai x Panama Red). That one is well worth it if you haven't tried it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm looking forward to following along.

:Namaste:
I’m a Sativa lover to, that Purple Thai x Panama Red sounds great. I’m smoking dispensary Maui Wowi now it’s ok but I’m growing Tangie and Green Crack now and can’t wait for it to finish.

I forgot the chiquitina!
My "last signing": MadMac's [Original Haze X (Ultra Early Love Potion X Silver Bubble)]. Born on 24-June-2022 (in the picture), it waits to grow a little more before being definitively transplanted in mother earth inna "The Dogs' House".

The Original Haze used (which I also have pure) for this hybrid is getting a lot of good reviews. Its origin, if I remember correctly, comes from the selection made by "Sam the Skunkman" for Seedsman, from which both "Johnny Chicago" and "Golli" made their own selection, and from which, in turn, "MadMax" made his last one, with a great reception even by "Sam the Skunkman".
Apologies to the original breeder if I've got anything wrong or misspelled their names:

29-June-2022 :
With the last rays of sun, I transplanted it to mother earth inna "The Dogs' House"", and sprayed it with diatomaceous earth dissolved in water with potassium soap.
Once released from the shell, it has quickly taken on a very healthy appearance with large initial leaves:

Flash Back 2° Ed
(Flo X White Widow;
Sweet Seeds; born 15-May).

I have cut off the two lower nodes (origin of 4 twigs that barely protruded from the stem) (the small walls of "The Dogs' House" shade the lower part of the plants) and I continue with the diatomaceous earth, because from the ground up to a metre high, "The Dogs' House" is a cloud of small young grasshoppers:

King Congo (Congo Point Noire X South African Ciskei; Tropical Seeds Company; born 15-May).
Showed female preflowers within a month of hatching (the other two coeval varieties, not yet).
It is the tallest of the 3 coeval plants, and by far the most branched.
Here, I have cut another 2 lower nodes or 4 more twigs from the two previously cut nodes, so it lacks the 8 lower twigs:

Thank you, Sir! May the Prophet reward your company in this humble thread of mine, with 72 Haze females (and one male, in case you need to make seeds).
If you're up for it, take your Panama hat or your Cordovan hat, or your Sahrawi Elzam turban, or your baseball cap, and don't forget your water bottle, because here in summer the sun bites like a hound... The horse and the ganja, I'll leave them to you...

9-July-2022 :

Come on, I promised to take you out for a walk...
This morning, before the sun gets tighter (44°C / 112.5°F maximum in the shade, forecast again for the next few days, in a new heat wave), I invite you to a walk around my surroundings.
We left from about 800 meters-2625 feet high, in the middle of the dehesa/savana, following the now dry bed of a stream: that explains the presence of reedbeds (more of 2 metres-6'5 feet of high) in such a dry environment:

Looks like outback Australia!
9-July-2022

...We continue ascending and following the bed of the dry stream. A grove of towering eucalyptus trees, like the reedbeds, takes advantage of the underground humidity, and breaks the traditional appearance of the dehesa/savanna. This Australian invader came from the extreme NorthWest of my nation, where it was introduced for the timber industry. Here, it is very harmful. While the survival strategy of native trees is to be as resistant as possible to heat and forest fires, that of eucalyptus is the opposite: they attract fire and quickly burn themselves and their surroundings, to eliminate all competition for the development of seeds and seedlings. survivor. Likewise, the local trees enrich the soil to attract other vegetation that shades their surroundings and attracts humidity, while the eucalyptus acidify and desertify everything around them:

...In a nearby fence, in the shade of nearby eucalyptus trees, I find this group: I think they are of the P.R.E. race, Lusitanos, and/or their mestizos.
(Of horses type P.R.E. and Hispano-Arabs, served the wild Mustangs of the USA):

...We ascend a few tens of meters more, and we arrive at a small dry pool several tens of meters long by a dozen wide by a little less than 2 meters deep; time ago it was completely filled with water, and the source of the dry stream whose course we have followed. Here, the local vegetation competes with the Australian:

Thank you very much for sharing your sativero comments here.

No doubt, Destroyer was great, especially the "Meao Thai phenos" like the one you comment on: especially the one here called "crazy wheat pheno", where the flowers on the branches look like shiny green pearls along a string...
A pity that it is already almost impossible to get hold of seeds...
I, personally, will show in the future a couple of my own Destroyer crops during the past years; however, they were not the "Meao Thai phenos" you recall, but the "more commercial" "Michoacan Verde Limón phenos": much more productive and earlier, faster, much fruitier taste (pear compote), but much less potent psychoactivity (less introspective/lysergic, but more social and warm, perhaps):

Destroyer "feno Verde Limón-pear compote" [Meao Thai X (Michoacan Verde Limón/Colombian Punto Rojo)]; Cannabiogen; borned con 20-July-2018); between 20-October-2018 & 17-November-2018, her last day:

OMG! That’s gorgeous. Damn I’d love to sample some of it 😍

...It will continue in this way until, with the altitude, the dehesa/savannah closes in on the forest proper. The mountains in the background (next post) are around 1,350 metres high.
But today we are going to turn back before to arrive to the forest, as the sun is beginning to bite...

Stellar sativa's, poisonous plants, and exotic landscapes! What an awesome grow journal.

Oh, you're going to make me blush, Sir...believe it or not.

I've already seen that you're more of a cat person, heh...
I'll treat you to some buds of both South African and Congolese pheno from my King Congo of 2020, in appreciation of your warm words:

...For the rest, I also have some small clumps of those curious weeds that are so popular on this forum... The most developed is this King Congo (Congo Point Noire X South African Ciskei; Tropical Seeds Company; born May 15). The lower 4 nodes (8 twigs) have been pruned, and it showed female preflowers at one month of birth.
(The whitish spots on all plants are diatomaceous earth):

The King Congo is followed in development, and also born on the same day 15-May, almost equaling King Congo in height, although far from her ramification, is Flash Back 2° ed (Flo x White Widow; Sweet Seeds) feminized, which has the 2 lower nodes (four twigs) pruned.
She showed the first female preflowers last July-3, when is the last photo; all the others are from 9-July:
