Rabbit's Big Leap - High Brix With Doc's Kit

So is it safe to say now that your Cancer is in remission? This post is huuuuge for you. Seeing a future that you couldn't see before. I was like that with my diagnosis, my future was gone, until I started growing. But for you, you're a massive inspiration for me because you never stopped healing yourself. AAAND, you never stopped working, in and out of the garden. Your quest for healing and turning your medical around makes me feel there is hope for me. This is such a milestone for you, I can't help but want to give you a big 420 hug.

On a side note...I want to do archery with your daughter, sounds uber cool. Looks like "hitting targets" is a special skill that runs in the family. Congrowulations for taking yourself off the critical list.

My next scan is 4/21. If that still shows no sign of disease (which I expect) then I'll feel comfortable saying I'm in remission. It's a metastasis so I still need to be vigilant. Cajun's drama last fall/winter drove home the need for consistent maintenance regimen. It also reinforced my faith in ability of MMJ to knock it back if tumors do reappear.

Spring time after winter. For you as for the Northern half of the planet.

This is a propitious time for the you that was curled up inside for safety to sprout and embrace your future.

That Dance World sure looked mite infested. Tough to leave a grow when you have mites. I did it once 2? years ago Christmas. 8 days gone, By 4 days back the mites were back under a short leash and leaving most of my leaves alone. It's not optimum - but you can deal.

That's a nice way to put it. Sprouting, putting down roots to support future growth.

I'm surprised by how much damage the mites have done without ever reaching level of a visible infestation. Cumulative damage looks bad, but if the mites we're really active those leaves would be gone by now, so that's reassuring. Only have to make it 2 more weeks.

How's everything in your world Kingston? Those plants are pushing themselves to the limit. Can't believe that the mites have kept on coming back to attack again and again. Keep on fighting :thumb: they all look so frosty

Thanks. I've reached conclusion that I need to shut down completely after this harvest to get rid of them. I can clear them from small clones but there will always be an egg layer hiding somewhere on larger ones.

Bud Porn Update

It's been a long week for me. It had been 1 1/2 years since I worked a 40 hour week. Now I've done it 2 in a row. Work changes have been great test for my brain, but by end of day I'm so tired that even Minecraft is hard. I got blown up by creepers 3 times last week. Birthday for the twins today. Plus several hours landscaping the front yard. I'm readjusting to real life outside the treatment bubble, getting lots more done. Haven't been around here much lately, but not leaving. Just working this into my new normal.

BCS is at 53 days since start flowering. Trichs are mostly clear in spite of looking cloudy in photo due to flash. Main thing I notice is that she's still got plenty of white pistils so still packing on weight. Buds are getting firmer. Smell is the strongest of group and strongest of 4 runs of this clone, exactly like cherry soda. Hope she goes 2 more weeks because I haven't even started my taxes and will need next all of next weekend, which is already taken up by Easter.

Blue Mystic about 46 days. After underfeeding her early I've now burned her with overfeeding. Happy with her buds. Is it wrong to be disappointed that she's not blue?

Medical Mass #2, tops of buds are looking good, but that's pretty much it. No fill down low.
20170409_123631.jpg

MM#1, still fullest buds but not by much anymore. Photo of Dance World didn't turn out, but her buds are as fat and longer but not as dense yet. Really really really looking forward to harvesting both my 1:1 strains (as long as it's after tax day.)

And another action shot of ladybug at work. Can't help it, they're just so cute when they're ripping a mite to shreds. :Namaste:

I've managed to get the mites under control, if such a thing is possible, by containing them tent by tent. It turned out to be an advantage that I chose 2x2' tents. :laughtwo: That last harvest frightened me. They exploded out of nowhere when I turned my back for a few days. I'm pulling for you.

And congrats on getting life back closer to a "normal" in your family world. Springtime should have you all over the outdoors.

That last picture made me wish I had a horde of ladybugs to let loose in the tent. :cheesygrinsmiley:

CCO update

Finished making batch from HB2 harvest. 12 grams from 4 oz., good but not great extraction. On the other hand, results from unintentional testing of small dot on my finger: Wheeee! :)

:high-five: Good work KR. 12 grams is a decent amount for someone on a maintenance protocol, yes?

How "unintentional" was that drop? :laughtwo:

It was just a smear on my finger, much less than grain of rice. I didn't decarb, just ran it through the still and then dehydrator to evaporate the last of alcohol. Apparently a fair amount of decarb occurred in the still. I suspected that some would because alcohol evaporates at 170, but potency really surprised me.

So licking my finger wasn't an accident, but I didn't expect anything to happen from it. Really. :)

Day 60 - Death and Taxes update

I've resigned myself to fact that I'm going to be filing an extension on my taxes again this year. I've got more important things to deal with, like a mature BCS to harvest.

Black Cherry Soda, run #4 @ 60 days from first pistil. This is the last of my "leaning tree" style of LST. Cool for bonsai, awkward for filling scrog net.
20170414_145946.jpg

Fan leaves held on just long enough. I still see a few white pistils. Trichs are mostly cloudy with a few amber. I think I'll get my goal of 4 oz. Buds are shorter that last run but there are close to 40 tops. As happy as I am with that my goal for next round will be to have fewer larger colas. I have hypothesis that having fewer colas like in SOG produces more oil without giving up total yield. That seemed to be case on 2nd grow. I'll have better idea after this grow is all harvested and made into oil.

All defoled and ready for the chop and wash.

My trimmer says "That's Beautiful. It's just beautiful"

I agree :)

Thanks for your support. Any time your trimmer wants to stop by there's plenty to go around. I don't bother removing sugar leaves because they just go into the oil extraction anyway. Looking back I realized just how often I didn't have to bother with fan leaves either because they'd all already fallen off before harvest. I'm finding that plucking leaves is a nice closing ritual, a final chance to explore a plant's strengths and weaknesses.

Works of art my friend, glowing results! ..

I love it when I finally get to take the screen. It blocks the aesthetic quality of the plant. Some just get all floppy, but this one I wish I had done it a day earlier to enter for POTM. Not a contender but not ashamed to admit I spent a long time admiring her before the chop.

That's a stunning lady you've got there Rabbit.
Definitely a work of art ...

Thank you. More art shots to follow.

Nice plant/carpet. Subb
Like my style of growing

Welcome. Getting close to the end of this one, but definitely the best finish I've had. Hope you enjoy.

Happy Easter Rabbit - Your place must be hoppin! lol ;)

3 bunnies up and 4 moppity maisies loaded on sugar, so yeah, hoppin is the word!

More harvest pics

BCS all cut, washed and hung to dry. There were 20 side branches off the main stem that reached the canopy. Most of those branched again, so about 45 tops, small but dense and fragrant.
20170415_122243.jpg

And this is top #46 all alone briefly as my Dr. Seuss tree. Couldn't resist one last artistic shot.
As a side note, the trunk is much more upright, a sign of how much those buds weighed on her.
