heres a couple pic of my rez with the residue the line was water level and was brown and heres a pic of my airstone with the brown stuff on it
all this accured after 3 daz any ideas the grow was inside i gad just put the stuff n the storage building when i saw this stuff
Looks like Brown Slime Algae to me. Stuff is nasty and super, super hard to kill. Looks like the same stuff I am fighting.
Physan 20 seems to be the only thing that really clears this stuff up.
Roseman's tips are great for normal algae growth.
Brown Slime Algae is not normal algae, and is more closely related to a bacteria. It does not need light to thrive! The needed dose of h202 would easily kill your cannabis long before your algae.
I will do a write up on this stuff. As I have found, it is not well known, and most often misdiagnosed. We have tried up to two tablespoons per gallon of 35% h202 with NO luck, but our plants were hurting. This stuff steals all the oxygen in the res, suffocating plants. Giving the roots a "rot" look, leading most people to assume root rot. It isn't. I isn't normal algae either. It's one tough cookie!
Physan 20 is the only thing that seems to work, but the chemical is toxic and harsh!

strange slime build up on roots
first link is another forum, but a long in depth look at this DWC monster! They really go deep into it.
And
Brown Slime Algae
lots of reading, but if it is something you are fighting, worth reading.
yeah bro i had used the h202 n the rez and still got the brown slime algea and there was a bad smell
just curious what kind of nutes r u using rspsmoke
I run Fox Farm nutes.
Have had great luck in soil with FF. But thinking about going a different route for this hydro setup.
All my future grows will be with Advanced Nutrients.
sure is nice growing n soil not having 2 worry about rez temps, ppms ,ph and room temp, or freakn algea
Soil plants is harder for me then hydro. Cant control it well enough I guess. Im glad your grow is doing good brother!
Takes to long for me and too many pests for my taste. 1 crop per year max in my area. Besides I'm chicken shit about gorilla growing. If it gets legalized here then I can concieve a combo grow in the tomato garden. LOL!
