Stinky Snid's Nursery & Flower Shop - Welcome To My Perpetual Adventure

July 3rd, Daily Update

There's been some light changes in both tents. I've determined that the Gs600 runs too hot, the 5 Watt LEDs burn my hand if I touch the glass. None of the others are even remotely close to being that hot.
2016-07-03_10_58_59.jpg

Therefore it will need to be isolated and properly exhausted. So what I did was move the Gs600 into the photo tent alone to more than cover the footprint at 24", again this is temporary but until I hook up my big fan it's necessary.

So then in the auto tent we got the 864w bloom only "Mini Sun", a Mars II 400 and a Mars 48x5w reflector. All these together run with less heat than the Gs600 and the "Mini Sun" that were together previously...incredible.
20160703_102250.jpg

The "Mini Sun" is covering Madeleine and Jawsephine with its core beams and is also hitting Bobby Sue. There's some overlap onto the GWSs too. Explosia, white Widow and the 2 biggest GWS are under the mars II 400 and Lucy is hogging the reflector to herself but sharing a little with GWS #3. Lol... That's the run down on the new light configuration, I'm sure it's to confusing to even read through. Anyways... let's get to the picture update.

Feedings -
Madeleine nute mix = Ph 6.0 @ 74°f w/ 1.8 EC or 1230ppm
>G/M/B@6ml, b52/bigbud/budcandy/xfactor@4ml, calmag@1tsp, silicate@½tsp, kelpmeal@1tsp, all in 2 litres of water.

Notes ~ Lucy will now finish under the mars reflector, she's changing to deficient colours and is ripening up for the harvest. Jawsephine is hopefully going to look like Chanel did, long and thick buds all the way up the stems. I've started defoliating some to allow pistils to reach upwards unfettered. Madeleine has go much smaller budsites then say Jawsephine, but still in her stretch we'll see where she ends up. Bobby Sue is tucked away in the corner of the tent, you can tell she's not a priority for me, poor girl. The great white Sharks are all on their 3rd node and will be topped by day 14 for sure. The white Widow :adore: so relaxing...

Notes ~ Renee is still a good week from flush, more and more pistils are popping out. I'm a little worried about nanners at this point. Cleopatra, Ella and Bella are not stretching much yet... Won't be long it sure. Explosia is definitely catching her second wind and has added a node since yesterday morning and secondary growth is flourishing.

Take care everyone, thanks for stopping in to the the girls...

I find that is true with every Twilight I have tested... Even the Spider4 is much to hot IMO... The Spider16 was a nightmare... The 300 puts out more than it should too... I like the lights just fine just wish they would figure out how to dissipate the heat a little better....:circle-of-love:

It's only got two huge fans, compared to the 864w one that had 8 smaller fans. I'm not an engineer either but I'm sure those lenses have something to do with it. It's the only light that is blowing hot air out the sides. Anyways I'm not complaining, just have to find a way to manage the heat while utilizing the light. Thanks for the feedback :green_heart:

heya snid,, nice setup friend,, compact plants just how i likes em,, nice job,,

bet i can guess yer last name,, bet you can guess my first,, haha,, cheers

:Namaste: thank you Dirt

Hope you had a fun and safe Canada day, I had some good smoke with some good friends. Good times.

The support from the two of you is greatly appreciated, not only by me, but the many newer growers... I've noticed :thumb:

KiG guys :green_heart:Cheers

I try to help out where I can :) Sometimes I'm not around as much as I would like to be. Thanks for noticing though Snid!

Wow, what a great critical analysis of light vs. heat. If I understand correctly, you are running twice as hot than before approximately? Also, because of your donated light, I could actually follow your light comparison for the first time. I hope you are able to remedy this by your skillful surgeon like problem solving. I promise you will figure it out. Looking forward to your prognosis.

I'm still a bit old school, Snid. I prefer my HPS for flower and MH for veg. I have been watching grows on the site for some time. You can't argue that LED aren't getting it done. They are kicking ass. But, they are too expensive for me to give up what I know and trust. I wonder how long it will be until LEDs can compete price wise with the old lighting systems. Having said all of that, I will probably get one when I move my grow downstairs. :)

Keep up the hard work brotha!

Cheers

I had actually forgotten I even had the 864.. Dooh... But again I used that one to bloom with and had to replace it... My girls didn't like it at all... When I set my 4' tent up I'm going to try it for a veg light....:circle-of-love:
My 864w has done ok with the photo tent flowerings. Letting the plants decide probably is the wisest thing to do... :green_heart:

Thank you Araya, I've stabilized temps in both the Tents. The small reflector puts off very little heat, it's less than cfls for sure. I'm sure the plants are loving it. I don't miss an update... See you there soon.

I hope everything gets cheaper once legalization arrives. Instead it will probably be the opposite. At least technology is advancing and more Co's are selling them... That said, hps is by far more buds building than the LEDs I've used. My protégé grew a big plant of basically shwagg and it had bigger thicker Colas than mine and I took good care of mine he didn't. Goes to show.... Thanks for the input. For now stealth is still important for me and exhausting hps heat is too much.. :thanks:

July 4th, Daily Update

The temps have been mitigated to acceptable levels. Everything is running at full and no excessive heat problems to report since the change. I spotted a stray sprout outside, I had tossed a seed from a nug I smoked. It's a Stink Widow I believe or maybe a dark devil x lemon skunk... We'll see if it survives the cruel outdoors. For now let's stick with indoors and take a peek down in the lab...

Notes ~ all three of the GWS got topped, one is still suffering from what might be magnesium or potassium def. White Widow is onto set #2...Bobby Sue is showing off some tiny little budsites. Madeleine is in full bloom looking great! Jawsephine is still exhibiting a K def. It seems to be fading away back to green but it hard to tell. Another feeding fr her and Madeleine.

Notes ~ Renee still taking her time. Ella and Bella have hit the edges of their pots, it's time to usher them upwards... Hopefully evenly. Cleopatra is a beast now, she's well past her pots edge that is much bigger than the twins. The Stretch has not yet begun. Explosia will make the 12/12 team soon, she's doing well and is catching up to the twins.

always a pleasure, do come again...

Thank you Dirt, I very much appreciate it.

great pics as always there Snid, the photo girls sure have filled out there pots now :thumb:
Yes Sir Partimus, I've got those clones growing good now. But Cleopatra is now even bigger the Ellabella was. I'm hoping Explosia hurries up a little to get flowering times lined up. Always a pleasure to see you around here Partimus, :Namaste:

July 5th, Daily Update

Just another day in the Stinky Snid nursery. Not much to report on the macro aspect of things. I've raised a few of the pots off the tent floor to try and keep plants at the same height. Lucy went dark today, Thursday is harvest... Going camping on Friday so got to get her done. I'm starting to make my arrangements for their well being while I'm gone. Let's see how they're doing today...

Notes ~ I can't figure out how this little #3 is deficient. The other two are fine and have the same amendments in the promix. I'll keep going as normal until next set of leaves and/or next feeding whichever comes first. White Widow is ready for a growth spurt, I can sense her eagerness to begin her life. Bobby Sue is continuing her mini stretch, with mini budsites. I should toss her outside and make room for something else. Madeleine however is booming with Bubblegum fruity odors, a delicious aroma. Jawsephine might be taller than Chanel was... If I can get the buds to stack up, this is gonna be sweet. Lucy like I mentioned before is in the closet until Thursday afternoon.

Notes ~ just a few adjustments on Explosia's stake restraints. She's due for a feeding tomorrow. Cleopatra got her full bloom week 2.5 nutes. Ella and Bella will be getting a initial bloom feeding aswell come Thursday. Renee is almost ready for flushing, I've got a good 25% amber. So once she's dry I'll flush her then when she's dry again it's harvest time.

May your days be joyful and exciting. See you next time...
