I thought I'd subscribed to your journal when you created it. Oops! Oh, well... Kind of makes for a more significant impact when I see it all at once. I wouldn't have found your journal now, had I not just saw - and drooled over ;) - the picture collage you posted in your "SunPlusLED Q&A Forum" thread.

Your buds and plants are impressive. And I have to say, so are the images of your LED panel and its specification sheet! I have one of a similar (not identical!) design. Both of our panels have six COBs - and I believe they're both the 2530 ones (definitely not "the latest and greatest" - but still pretty decent). But while my panel only eats around 350 watts, yours is consuming 647 watts (nice!). And while mine only has 60 of the little LEDs, yours has 96 of them (nice, again). The only thing that mine has that yours does not is a 18" fluorescent supplemental UV (reptile) bulb down the middle. And that's nice and all, don't get me wrong. But, to be honest with you, considering the price of high-quality LED grow light panels, the addition of a fluorescent light (or two, or...) to one's grow room would not really be considered to be a significant expense. So, while it IS a nice addition, I definitely wouldn't consider the lack of such a thing to be a show-stopper.

I wish I wasn't chronically poor, lol. It'd be awesome to be able to compare both of these panels in a side-by-side experimental grow. (I have a feeling yours would eat mine's lunch ;) .)

Wonderful looking garden.

Somewhere around 60 days here, Very close to being ready. I did pull 1/2 of the Lemon Amnesia, it finished around 55 days. I'm pretty happy with this SunPlus LED as everything turned out very nice.

I must say (type) that it's a little unusual to see a forum sponsor running a grow journal. I don't have any problem with that, though. In fact, I appreciate it. I'd much rather see a sponsor fully participate around here instead of "only" writing a check. Although that part is definitely appreciated, too :thumb: .

Day 73 - Probably the final pics of these plants growing. Several have been chopped and the last few will come down in a few days.

This was a great Grow using the SunPlus Pioneer P6 COB Led. I would say this lamp is a success and well worth the investment. It is constructed with quality, the built in timer is accurate and easy to use, eliminating the need for cheap or expensive external timers. The coverage is Great, This lamp will easily flower a 4x4 tent and it did a great job vegging using only the COB's. My plants got a little bigger than I wanted and I think if you were to keep your plants under 4' tall you will have great success with this lamp in a 4x4 area. This lamp as do all COB's does produce a fair amount of heat which will need to be dealt with accordingly and as you can see below, This lamp will produce some high quality Bud. That is what we want! If I were to grade this lamp I would Give it an A+. It did preform as described in both veg and bloom, it covered the area stated and it did produce quality bud all for a reasonable price. The best thing is that you can use it over and over again without any further expenses.

Please comment or email me if you have any questions.

Thanks for following

HAPPY GROWING!

Hey Techman what was ypur yield for this run? It seems you didnt do much training or jus let the plants grow naturally. Just curious on how well the light yielded on a grams per watt type deal. Thanks and hope to hear back soon! Oh but either way the quality looks top knotch!!

Great question, Thanks for asking. You are correct, I did not do anything "special" to these plants. I actually ran out of C02 about 1/2 way thru and ran out of fertilizer around week 6. I did use molasses the last few weeks and I did not use any bat guano in this grow.

Unfortunately I don't weight everything I grow anymore, It's all personal use so it doesn't matter to me. At this point I'm more interested in quality over quantity. I will say from experience looking at this grow that I can expect an average of 2-3 ounces of dried bud per plant. I'm sure others could do much better and I could too, but as long a I produce enough of this high quality bud to meet my needs I'm happy.

Gram Per Watt Calculation

if I calculate the low end 2oz per plant x 8 Plants = 16oz x 28g = 448g /650w = appx .68 gpw

If I calculate the high end 3oz per plant x 8 Plants = 24oz x 28g = 672g /650w = appx 1.03 gpw

I'm pretty sure I'll hit somewhere around .75-.85 gpw, which is still pretty impressive for this one lamp.

Points to consider
1) The lamp was mounted about 7' (over 2m) from the ground for the entire flower period
2) The plants were 3-4' (over 1m) tall when introduced to flower
3) There were 8 large plants crammed into a 4x5 space
4) No training, defoliate, stress or any other "advanced technique" was utilized
5) Ran out of fertilizer and c02
6) Temp and humidity stayed relatively low, There was about a 10 degree night/day temp difference
7) I'm not a Professional Horticulturist.

Thanks and Happy Growing

Hey Techman, im well subbed in. I think LEDs are ace. But the thing i love the best is how everyone has their own personal style. Your buds look so damn delicious and potent!

The only thing i must know is why wouldn't you do some training cos you would have more of this beautiful bounty?

Peace, muzzy

Thank you for the compliment Muzzy. I wish I had the time to do more, but I have so much going on I'm lucky enough to keep them watered and feed on schedule. I know I could do much better but for now I'm just maintaining my needs.

Thanks again.

Happy Growing.
