Triple Cheese Clone Grow With Ebb & Flow

Well at the 8.5 week mark and certainly not seeing any thing that looks like previous grows to indicate getting ready to be mature and harvested. At this point typically I see a lot of reddish/brown pistils everywhere. Nada! Patience Grasshopper!

I did make a slight change in my system. I took the rose pots and put them inside my Lowe's 2gallon buckets. Then placed the buckets in the drip trays. Not sure if I need but it seems to give me a little extra barrier against spilling my water over the edges of the drip trays and perhaps with not so much exposed water it might also reduce the humidity some.

it might also reduce the humidity some.

How is your humidity? Outside at night, mine is between 50-60%. During the day, it’s back up to about 30% (was around 10% last week during the Red Flag period).

Humidity stays pretty stable around 55-60 most of the tim outside and around the house. I noticed yesterday the larger tent was around 70% an the smaller was slight lower. Just monitoring and maintaining.

I have gone over the 10week flowering period and still not ready for harvest. Partly perhaps due to having a light schedule that was 13 on and 11 off. Finally figured it out and fixed to 12/12 and now adjusted to 11hrs on and 13hrs off.

Buds are building nicely. This won't be a high yield harvest and I've not been happy with the growing results. The high on the other hand of the mother/donor plant is awesome. So I'll keep what ever I get off of this grow.

A little Bud Porn tease.

I moved my three Triple Cheese outside to finish their flowering. Sunlight time is less than 12 hours and the PPFD at noon to 1pm is running around 1900. I'll take a few other measurements into the afternoon and see what the numbers look like. But at this rate I'm going to be seeing some huge DLI numbers.

On another point my most mature plant is showing amber on the sugar leaves. This is not something I was able to see under the LED's. Interesting! I don't see any on the buds though and would like to see just a hint there before chopping.

I moved this plant indoors into my smaller 2x2.5 GGT on Sunday to keep it nice and dark for a couple of days. Planning of doing some cutting down tomorrow. The buds really did respond to the move outdoors and seem to have bulked up in the one week they were exposed to hardcore sunlight. :cheer::circle-of-love:

PPFD readings from 10am to 4pm are basically 1900. That's some intensity! :p

I just met with a tree guy and I'm going to have a tree in the backyard groomed and shorten and rounded. This should increase the levels and exposure a little earlier in the mornings.

The tree has been over due for being cut back for over a couple of years, it's just something my mom didn't take care of last year when she mentioned having it done.

Chopping Day! Yea!!! I had to delay some the harvest a bit because I had an issue with some severe arthritis going on leading up to the weekend. Finally got to the Doc and got an injection and it's feeling strong and comfortable enough to proceed.

The colas especially at the top and end of branches are quite large if not perhaps the largest I've seen in my grows so far. I know I said that with my previous Triple Cheese harvest but these really are bulky. I'm confident that I will get around an ounce or hopefully more from this plant.

I went through and pulled all of the fans off by hand and then picked through the buds and removed the fans that were popping out of them. I'm going to let a 2-3 days of drying time and then perhaps this Sunday go through and manicure the sugar leaves off. The process was perhaps the stickiest I have experienced.

See you in about a week with the final yield results as I jar the buds up.

I did an autopsy on the roots and confirmed what I thought was going on. The root structure was minimal and very thready. Most of the roots exited the perlite and pot and fed off the reservoir liquid in the ebb&flow tray. They didn't branch out and fill the entire pot as my normal hempy pots do.

I like the idea of Ebb&Flow but using hempy an adjustment will have to be made. Given the evidence today the idea will be to grow in a Hempy pot as normal and only feed maybe once a day with the ebb and flow tray flooding the 2gal lowes/hempy bucket. This should basically keep liquid and roots inside the Lowe's Bucket and allow the roots to completely fill the pelite in the bucket like I normally see. I think some feeding every couple of days by pouring the feeding liquid down from the top of the bucket would help also.

Premature Smoke Test last night.

About a week since harvest/cut down and the drying tent still smells grassy. Regardless I wanted to try. I haven't ever tried any of my grows this early. Normally I wait until it has been dry and in the jar for at least 4 weeks.

However! I had a couple of Larf buds that fell off during the harvest that I had drying on a piece of parchment paper on the drying rack. Still not quite dry they provided a little more resistance in the grinder. I dry vaped three Arizer glass tube loads last night while watching a little Netflix.

Taste was actually not bad and had a very earthy base. The high on the other hand was extreme. There were no negative results or feelings that I have heard about smoking uncured much less not quite dry bud. It was also actually fairly smooth considering the immaturity.

I'm going to wait another couple of days before clipping into jars. This has great potential after curing. Awesome!

Shed was the donor of the original Triple Cheese Seed along with the UK Auto Cheese which I have already grown last year and love also. Loved the UK Cheese so much that I bought 10 more of the Barney's Auto Seeds from Seedsman. G;lad to have grown and now harvesting the clones from the seed. Yummy.

Final Trim and Jar Day! I harvested on the 14th and hung for 8days. There is still a slight moisture but I've been there before. Airing and leaving the jars slightly open should help that.

So the moment that is always most anticipated at the end of a grow. Yield!

Small semi tight buds = 52 grams/ 1.83oz
Large Tight Buds = 25 grams/ .88oz

Total Yield = 77grams / 2.7 oz.

To say the least I'm very pleased with this yield especially since I really like this strain.
