First Grow - Bag Seed - CFLs & LED - Soil - Closet

Heirloom, you rock. There's isn't any airflow in the armoire. I feel like they're very dry to the touch, but spongy in the middle. Even keeping them in the jar all night at 75% inside the jar, when I opened it this morning, they were a tiny bit sticking with each other but a little shaking loosened them up instantly. They were not any less dry feeling on the outside though. I think that's where I'm having an issue trying to figure out when to keep them in the jar, because they seem dry on the outside, in or out of the jar. But I'll just give it a rule of thumb to open the jar and check them throughout the day. I will definitely plate dry them an hour in the morning and an hour at night. If I check them throughout the day and I feel they need more plate time, I will plate them more.

So basically the worrying is not over yet.

7/30/16 - Hygrometer reads 68% in the jar now, and they feel hard no longer spongy.

Question: So I was comparing my bud to some bud I had from someone else. I pulled out a piece from my jar that was the same size as the bud I got from someone else. And the bud I have is hard when pressed between two fingers, meaning, there is no give. The bud I got from someone else, has a noticeable give when pressed between two fingers. Is that a good or bad thing? I have no idea what my strain is cause it was bag seed, and I have no idea what the strain is I have from someone else. I'm just curious if I messed up some how and how I can fix it the next time. OR if hard dense bud is what you're striving for. I'm clueless. lol

Well when I get from someone it usually is not dried as much as one would like, so as to increase bag weight or for faster production. I like a good dense nug as it is more flavorful of resins! ;)

Very good point. That makes sense. Thank you.

Everyone strives for the thickest densest buds possible. That means your doing it right. The fluffier the buds the more abnormal environmental conditions the buds were grown under. Things Such as insufficient light or airflow, excess heat all lead to fluffier buds. Keep it dense and...

8/20/16 - Well I'm 3 weeks into the curing process and I have to say it's been a very cool experience. Who knew weed got cured?! lol Anywho it's been awesome, shaking the jar a bit every morning/night and burping it. I have definitely noticed the different scents from week to week. It seemed to go from a wonderful smelling fresh cut grass, to a lighter scent each week, then it started to get sweet smelling, then warm and sweet smelling. I'm not good with describing scents, but it's been tantalizing to say the least. I have to say this curing process is really teaching me about patience. Cause there is so many times I just want to vape the entire jar. lol But I've only taken a bit here and there every week and definitely noticing the difference. I wouldn't say that it started out harsh at all. But I'm definitely noticing that the high is getting stronger each week. From the 1.26oz I started with, I'm down to exactly 1oz, and I'm going to not vape any until it's 6th week into the curing process. Hence my education in patience. LOL

The jar is at 63% humidity, so we're near perfect.

I'm trying really hard not to order anything from someone else, now that I've grown my own. I have some concentrates left so I'm trying to stretch that out til this cure is done. Needless to say this is very very hard. lol Patience, patience, Nunu. You are to learn patience. :Namaste:

Good on you for waiting till it's cured. I can't help myself sometimes. Lol.

9/4/16 - Curing for almost 6 weeks. 63% Humidity. The buds have a faint sweet herbal scent when you open the jar. Though she doesn't smell like much when vaping it. The high is very nice I would say 6-7 strength. I feel very nice after one session with a solo vape. I did two vape balloons last night for the first time and I was wrecked about a 1/4 way through the first bag. lol

This will be my last entry in this journal and I will be asking the moderators to move to the completed journals. Thanks to everyone checking out my very first grow journal, I have learned a lot during this very very long grow. lol I highly recommend curing for a minimum of 6 weeks, the high has definitely gotten better each week.

I'm having a lot of fun with my other grows, and I'm starting another journal today for a Top-Fed DWC Aurora Indica grow. All journals are in my signature.

Some last pics taken today of some bud porn
