Hey SBG! This one should be really fun, after this grow is over I will be running 4 new strains plus the 2 best phenos from this grow under the Budmasters to get a full idea of how they perform. The Cola's have plumped up quite a bit over the last 2 weeks, but I can't say it's only due to the lights since they are at that period when they really gain girth, but the lights are definitely performing well as far as the plants are showing

Hey everone!!!

Day 42 flowering, and still a while to go

Things are looking really good in the tent, and the girls continue to grow fatter, however I have seen that they have slowed down a little bit over the past few days, almost as if they are getting ready to get to the next phase where the hairs start turning amber, the calyxs start to swell and so on, so I am anxious to see what the next week brings.

I'm thinking I still have about 3-4 weeks to go before they will be ready to harvest, as there are still a lot of white pistils showing still, and not much for calyx swelling yet. I have noticed that my 3 tallest plants have been showing some N deficiency as the large fans have started to turn yellow and fall off and I think it may be a little early still for that, so I upped the nitrogen on my last feeding which was given to the girls today.

I mixed up 5 gallons of water with:
Humboldt equilibrium
Humboldt bloom
Earth Juice Grow
Earth Juice Catalyst


Other than that I am happy to see what is going down in the tent In the final laps now

Happy Weekend everyone!!!

Today makes Day 46 of flowering from the flip, and the girls are starting to show a lot more trichome formation as well as I notice there speed of girth growing has slowed, but the calyxes are starting to get slightly more formed and larger as well. It seems that some of the phenotypes are definitely much more covered in trichomes than the others which will definitely make a bearing on which plants I keep and which don't make the cut. So far it seems that plants numbered #5, #8, #6 and #3, which from my smell checks about a week ago were also the most pungent of the plants too. I have a feeling that these 4 will be the ones that make the final round of my decision, however I still won't know until chopped and cured and which I like the best in the smoke report aspect as well.

Today I mixed up some feeding and gave the girls just 1 cup of water each. It seems they have slightly slowed down with their water uptake than about a week ago so I will be letting them go an extra day inbetween waterings or until needed to prevent any overwatering late in the cycle.

I mixed up 5 gallons of r/o water with:

30ml of hydrolyzed fish 2-4-0
30ml of hydrolyzed squid 2-3-1
humboldt duece deuce which is a all natural 0-0-22 made of potassium sulfate
earth juice catalyst just additives that make a good balanced tea
yucca extract
humboldt equilibrium which is just a cal/mag made from all natural things like soft rock phosphate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and other goodies.

Other than that not much else to report today, a few more yellowed leaves on the taller plants but other than that pretty much just more frosty and maturing well

You have some epic colas there. I would say if it were my grow I would be very proud. Word of advice if I may is always grow a second round of your four candidates. At least one plant of third place and one of fourth place. Just in case it was something you did to that one plant or a freak accident that went unnoticed like breaking roots. Some phenos also shine more from clone than seed because they are older. But it looks like you have your work cut out for you anyway because they look so good so you might as well give top four a second round lol.

I appreciate the advice on pheno selection Its funny you mention running them from clone and having different reaction as I was just reading today about how most clones will produce slightly more THC than from seed

Its really been fun so far seeing the differences

Haha! Must be the Illinois in my blood corn lol Thanks Dr Bob! So far I am really loving how this grow is turning out. I'm wondering how less training but larger terminal buds will result as far as yield I can't believe how they look with still at least 20 or more days to go

Quick update...

Well I decided since phenotype #1 has no smell, hardly any trichomes and a very weird bud structure, no reason to keep the clone that is in veg, so Pheno 1 is done after this grow... I culled the clone/vegging plant, stripped all the leaves and threw them in my soil bin and dumped the stems. I will still continue to finish the flowering pheno 1, but I doubt it will shine over the more frosted and potent smelling sisters.

This will make the choice a little easier having only 6 to narrow it down from. It also will make a little room for my clones that are rooting right now. My mother of Black cherry soda died but I managed to take 3 clones of her before she completely shut down so I am hoping to root her and keep those genetics since they are so rare and very very good. I pulled a few branches off her that were really wilted and put them in a cup of water which perked them back up and I will root them if the others don't take. I also took clones of my blue dream which also just never took off in veg in the other pot, so now I have a nice rooted blue dream that is taking off in a 3 gallon pot. I also am rooting black diamond og, area 51, Fire OG in preparation for my next grow A few weeks ago I also took a cutting of my harlequin since it just has never been happy in its 5 gallon pot and I feared losing it, so now its rooted and growing very quickly.

I have some more exciting surprises coming up in the next few weeks so I will begin preparing for that as well I still haven't decided exactly what will be going in my next grows, but I think there should be some very exciting fun coming up soon
