So you do a little super cropping on the ones you quadline Do you do others that you tie down as well and only them innless you have a unruly branch.No newb questions my friend anything I can help with I will! Top once for quadline! The initial topping is all that is required. After that it’s all about tying down and training your branches. As for the supercrop, I do it in a way that it increases the branches and their training. Not to bend a branch on a 90° like you would think. I “massage” the branches every few inches to make knuckles along them. This helps with stability and nutrient uptake!

You can see the slight knuckle or bump in the stalk. That is from my mild Supercrop.
That’s not to say you can’t though. If you have a real stubborn lead branch you can supercrop it to allow others to catch up!

Great question I was wanting to double check that myself. I will need to start Quadlining soon too. 3 of my baby girls have popped their heads out of the soil but one is being stubborn and hasn't broke the surface yet. I have my fingers crossed for her
Hey Hutch, that is correct! Top about a 1/4” above node 4 for better structural support this will prevent splitting later on when tying down! If you plant is strong and healthy you can top and do node removal at the same time. That’s entirely up to you though. I’ve done it both ways with great success. I’ll post some pictures today if exact node removal and topping process for anyone interested!
No problem PC and that’s right. I’ll massage the branches in multiple spots to create stronger plants. This will help with the overall structure and stability later on as well as nutrient uptake.

laugh, I always allow for a square growing space for the plants. So the "X" of a quadline works just right!

This process was repeated for the other Critical+2.0 so now we have them both on the right path! They should rebound in a day or 2 with their strong new growth.

It works great for all growing areas. The training and interaction with my plants is what I really enjoy plus the benefit it gives the plants come flower is an added bonus!Excellent tut, Dutch!
Quadlining is a great way to start training off. It accomplishes a few things for me, which I appreciate very much over other forms involving topping/fimming:
a) that "X" shape. Perfect way to get started off when you have a square space to fill up.
b) quicker filling in of the canopy, thus less veg time.
c) better than a mainline or manifold in terms of time it takes to get it done. With a manifold/mainline approach, you need to cut twice, where with a quadline you just need it once to get the same resulting number of tops.
They really are similar ways to do the same thing, but the quadline also keeps node 4, where a mainline/manifold just keeps node 3.
Now if I were going with a wide and narrow space, a mainline may be a better approach, or even a flux for that matter. But you're also extending your veg time too.
Since I like to keep things as simple as possible, grow setups notwithstanding
Thanks Hutch! Typically the aim is to transplant when the plant can’t be trained out any further in the current pot. Depending on how long you want to veg for the idea behind it is train outwards to the edge of the pot and then allow the plant to go vertical a few inches and flip to flower.
