Its time for my annual fall/winter grow. There are so many great strains to choose from, it’s been a bear trying to decide what to run. After many hours on the web looking for that perfect strain, I’ve decided to try an Ethos Crescendo RBX1. I’ve read some good things about Ethos and saw that someone put an C-RBX1 up for POTM in September (she looked amazing), so I’m going to give her a try. Not to jink my grow, but I think this is one where I put it all together. This is my 5th attempt (4th photo), I’ve learned so much from these experiences and many of you on this site. Let’s see if I can pull it all together and grow us a monster C-RBX1.

Containers, Soil, and Amendments
I haven’t taken the leap into a SIP yet, still too much to learn with soil-based grows. I’ll be using the tried -and-true Happy Frog soil mix from FoxFarm. It’s packed with all sorts of good stuff to get my girl growing before I begin to supplement with the FoxFarm nutrient line. I started her in a 4” pot (no peat pots this time!) with a 33%/33%/33% mix of Happy Frog, Jiffy Starter Mix, and Perlite, along with a liberal topping of Great White Myco, and soaked that in with a 25% solution of DI Water, Big Bloom and CalMag, PH 6.2 (new pen in the arsenal). In 2-3 weeks I’ll up-pot to a 1G pot and finally too a 5G fabric pot where I will add worm castings to the soil mix.
Nutrients
Water: Kroger distilled, brought to PH, EC and temp, shaken not stirred. I’ve been using a subset of the FoxFarm nutrient line since my first grow and have had good success. No changes for this grow. Standard chems include FoxFarm Big Bloom, Grow Big, CalMag, Silica, Mr. Fulvic (Fulvic Acids), Open Sesame, Tiger Bloom, Beastie Bloomz, and Cha Ching, all of which I will talk more about as we move along.
Techniques
I plan to mainline her (I think its called “Fluxing” now) to create 8 colas. I love the results of this high stress technique, big buds and minimal larf. I may drought her at the end as well if things are going as planned.

- Beginner Friendly and High Yielding
- 50/50 Indica/Sativa Hybrid
- Genetics: Chem D x i95 x Mandarin Cookies x Headband x i95
- Flowering Time: 63-70 Days
- Medium-tall with some stretch; she likes a little training
- TAC: 30%-37%
- Terpenes: Syrupy Mandarin Oranges, Sour & Gassy, Earthy
- An endorsement from the North American Seed Company staff…………..”The Crescendo has long been a favorite of mine as a both grower and a smoker. The phenos we found of this strain were impossible to choose between. They were incredibly stable and equally gorgeous, all with a terpene profile that stood out and deep orange and purple coloring. One pheno in particular really stood out because it smelled as close to moth balls as the real thing. The other phenos all had varying combinations of that fuely, moth ball smell mixed with tangerine/citrus. CrescendO’s sour, gassy and citrusy flowers are crushingly strong! Expect heavy, sedated, euphoric effects. The smoke will take you straight to the couch, so be cautious about when you partake, and enjoy"

- 4” Inline fan and RC412 Australian carbon filter from Spyder Farmer
- LED Vivosun VS1500 (really jazzed about this light. I bought it for my last grow (Auto-Flower) but never really used it to its capacity. I can’t wait to cook this C-RBX1 under the full power of the Vivosun VS1500).
- 4” Vivosun Oscillating Fan (already squeaking on every rotation!)
- 1G Capacity Humidifier
- ThermoPro Agrometer
- Fire Safety: I have the SereneLife Flamebuster fireball anchored to a steel grate on the outside roof of the tent (so it won’t fall to the floor in the event of fire).

. It was too warm for good fishing but the bugs were fantastic!
