Notice the little bug on the leaf ^^^ i put him in here like a month ago. He somehow made it up to my room on the 12th floor so i figured he deserved a place to stay and he's still loving it in there lol, just sun bathes all day and he doesn't harm the plants at all. I'll call him... "The Gatekeeper"

Enjoy the bud porn :]

oo im curious too... i got some 6500k in my reflector too and i sorta wonderin if i should switch em out to all 2700k bulbs.... they have a lower lumens output though....
THEY LOOK BOMB! wonder if i brought some clones home from norcal.... thats 200+ miles... i doubt theyd survive.... damn that would be a dope mission though! lol

 come on homie im waitn on harvest!! :yahoo:

I'm going with 100% 6500's in veg and 60-80% 2700's for flower. From what I've read most guys seem to like this... keep at least a little 6500 light available during flower.

i got 12 cfls for flower, and only half are 2700k... i think when i get some cash i might switch em out to 9/3 or something... mmm good looks bruh... im wondering now... whats up with people saying in veg they ignore the red and in flower they ignore the blue... is this true?

We're just trying to emulate mother nature. In the spring and summer the light is redder, in the fall it's bluer. It's the doppler shift as the earth is either approaching or moving away from the sun. But you still have the entire light spectrum present. So I don't know if they ignore the red/blue or favor more of each at different times of the grow.

mm makes more sense.... but let me ask you... if i went 12 x 6500k for a complete cycle of flower, would this be a just a failure?.... i forget i remember someone told me the 2700k fatten up the buds.... but what if i had all 6500k will i get some skimpy buds? i know this wont affect flower cos thats activated by 12 hours night.... just curious here.... wake n bake yknow....

Hey Blue Dog,

Thanks for checking things out! I'm never gonna use another fert in my life!

To treat the powdery mildew, I first tried spraying them with a milk solution that was 1 part skim milk to 9 parts water. Just misted down every leaf I could on the plants. Really made sure to get everything to prevent it from getting worse. I noticed the milk was leaving a residue on my leaves so I opted out to a little neater improvised method...

This time around when it got humid, I sprayed them with a solution that was ratio'ed at about...

1 gallon of water
1/2 a spritz of soap out of the bottle (to use as wetting agent; it basically makes the rest of the stuff stay on the leaves when the water evaporates)
and then pH up until its around a 8.5-9

I sprayed them with this yesterday and there are zero visible signs of PM today; no spores, nothing... I'm hoping they stay this way!

I'm about to put pictures up as today is day 36 or pretty much the start of week 5 of flowering. Still in shock of what a tight budget can grow with lots of love... It's honestly unbelievable. I wanna give them more but idk where I should start... molasses? kelp? lights? different medium? more circulation? humidifier? snowstorm?? so many choices but i have no clue what would be best. open to any and all recommendations!! let me know what you think :]

Happy Growing!
K

Hey kylester! Any more signs of the pm? Been wondering how it's going.

Woodsman is having a pm problem, hope you don't mind but I posted the above in his journal.

You don't need to do both the milk and the soap/water, correct? Just the soap and ph'd water.

Thanks and take care!

Great pics kylester! They look awesome. Have you added any lights to what you started the grow with? Are they all 2700's? Great job buddy!

I haven't added anything but a little desk white LED light. I don't think it's helping much though, lol just supplementing the bottom nugs.

They're running at 3 23 watt 6500's, 3 27 watt 6500's, and 1 big 68 watt 2700 that is giving a great penetration.

Haha i've talked to the guys at oaksterdam and the club over there and they say people make trips all the way from Humboldt to pick up clones. Thats a good 4-5 hour drive and they're buying like 90+ clones at a time. The club gets about 250 fresh ones every morning :yahoo:

I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the breeding up here and i'd be more than happy to show you the dispensary if you make the trip up.

Most of my lights are 6500k and i'm looooving the results of my set up. It is true that 2700k light helps the plant make the transition into flowering and promotes healthy flowering but I just kept a constant light type with them and moved the lights around to give them a good balance of all the spectrum. The red/blue issue comes more into factor when it comes to HID lighting. Metal Halide being more blue and High Pressure Sodium being red.

Hey BlueDog,

There are very small little patches of it towards the parts of the plants that don't get as good air circulation but it is under control for the most part. If i see it start coming back, I give them another spray of the ph'ed/soap water.

You're more than welcome to spread the post, of course i don't mind! :]

Only need to use either the milk or the soap/water, one or the other. The milk is probably better for your plants immune system but the ph'ed water is much cleaner and keeps your plants looking good! I don't want a milky residue on my nugs personally so i'll stick to the pH'ed water :p

Things are looking great! were at week 6 + 2 days now and the trichomes are really cloudy. Another 2 weeks or so and they'll be ripe for harvest :]

Any opinions on when you guys think i should cut? 50% amber? 80% amber? 30%??? I've heard it's all a personal choice but i just want to hear your guys thoughts on the matter, throwin it out for discussion :)

mmm one day... maybe monday! haha jp... we shall see my friend... i want some dawgs!!

Haha this club has so many damn strains of clones, it's obnoxious...

I think I'm gonna flower from seed on my next grow though with a 400 watt HPS as my main light and the CFL's as supplemental lights. This in a similar medium to what I'm using now but i might try adding some more natural ingredients to give the plant a better flavor. Perlite is definitely a must though. I hear the bud from seed is much better than from clone :rollit:

Thanks j4s2u0! all taken with a 3G iphone :]
