I chopped & wet trimmed the Sour Diesel today. Nice buds & perfumed the place up. I was going to dry a bud for sampling but I decided to smoke the scissor hash instead. Heavens to mergatroid, this is intense. The sky is incredibly beautiful, the trees on my property are cool to look at & I wanna play my guitar. This is exactly the effect I want from my product.I imagine I’ll get 3-4 zips from her…

I trimmed her up on my back porch & she was so stinky I was paranoid the whole time. She’s drying in a tent now but the smell is amazing! My clothes smell like diesel fuel…

Here’s the root ball from the Sour Diesel.
The whole thing came out of the bag in one piece.

And here are a couple root balls from my 2nd grow before I employed @Emilya ‘s watering method. Half the soil remained in the bag because the roots never got to the bottom of the bag. The difference is clear…

AK1 is drying out her bag in two days now and she took an extra quart of water at her last feeding. She’s the only plant I’ve grown without topping. Fewer but fatter buds. I probably stripped her too much before I flipped her - she’s pretty top-heavy. I have her staked but I have to be very careful when working with her. She’s on day 41 of flower..

Miss Durban Poison also drained her bag in two days & took an extra quart as well. As expected, she outpacing the other girls as she is 100% Sativa. The strange shape is because of the damage she sustained when I fell into the tent. I broke one of the main colas & one branch but she never looked like it bothered her at all. At most it slowed her down a little bit. I brought her out for a light defoliation. She’s on day 17 of flower. Once AK1 finishes she’ll have center stage.

I got 104 grams from the Sour Diesel. I guess I let it dry too long - 56, 58 & 60% humidity in the jars. The potency of this bud buffers the disappointment of not getting a proper cure. The smell & taste aren’t bad but it’s a bit harsh. My @PerfectPipe helps immensely with that. I highly recommend you get one if you have respiratory issues or even if you don’t. It eliminates all or most of the irritants & I rarely cough at all when I use it.
I plan to do another run of Sour Diesel after this grow is complete. The effect from this strain is exactly what I crave. I feel alert & keenly aware of the beauty of where I live. I have a degree of clarity of thought & visual perception that just isn’t there without this herbal remedy. I’ve never had a problem getting along with people, but with this I enjoy the company of other humans much more & I’m much less inclined to isolate myself from people. And when I play my guitar or my piano I “connect “ with those instruments on an entirely different level. (I still don’t consume before I go on stage as I feel like everyone watching knows I’m high).

Last but not least, she was easy to grow. Very manageable & not finicky at all. I’m happy to be consuming, but I felt a little sad when she was finished. Can’t wait for the next round…

AK1 is on day 45 of flower. Her buds are dense, sticky & loaded with trichs. I love the way the buds are stacking up & she’s packing on weight every day. These pics don’t do her justice…

@Bill284 I hope I never need it either, but I’m glad it’s there if I ever do. You sharing that story put that awareness there. I’m still doing some tweaking, but Ultimately, I will have very little flammable material in the room. We pour our hearts & souls into this hobby & sometimes passion can cloud our vision. We need to consider all aspects of safety to protect our investments. Thank you again for sharing that gut wrenching experience so we don’t have to…

Sorry it’s been awhile since I posted. I’ve been busy being lazy. I like being retired…
I spotted a couple nanners on AK1 yesterday. She’s on day 49 of flower & they’re supposed to finish in 8-9 weeks, so she’s only 6 days from the theoretical window. I’ll watching her like a hawk till she’s done. I don’t think I can sacrifice her this close to the finish line. Hopefully there will be no more nanners, but I’ll pluck ‘em off if more show up. I lost a bubblegum to hermaphroditism a few weeks ago & she was close to finishing as well. The buds just weren’t ripe so the effect isn’t what I wanted, but it is a decent sleep aid. I’m wondering if it’s coincidence or is there an environmental issue? I’m going to raise the light a few inches - the temp was 84f at the top of the canopy. Also, I get most of my water from a rain barrel. Should I be treating the water? Anyway, I’ll be keeping a close watch…
