Hi people, I’m growing godfather og and I’m 64 days into flower, iv noticed on one plant some amber trichomes, but can’t get a clear picture on the other plant, I’m going to add some pictures to see if anyone can make out if I’m ready for harvest, going to start watering with just ph water from now on and any help would be very much appreciated, thank yous :thumb:

Hey nice frosty budz ya got there..... But it's hard to see anything color wise due to the blue and purple hues from your light.... Are you able to get same photos but in natural lighting?

I use a Carson MicroBrite Plus hand-held microscope with built-in LED light ($13). That way you can see a very clear image of the trichomes... for your eyes... it doesn't take photos.

Hi HappyHazmat88, and iv been trying to get some pics for ages  I can’t keep the camera thing still, here’s the best I got, can hardly make anything out, although I have seen some amber ones when trying, and with the jewellers eye thing, don’t know the amount that’s best thou, getting all sorts of info on the net, from 10 percent to over 50 , bit confused 🤔

Hi cbdhemp808, and thank you for that info, will have a look now, and yeah I can see with the camera I have and with the jewellers eye thing I have, just can’t get a clear picture with the camera, I’m not sure about the percentage of amber that’s best ?

 oh boy do I know your struggle lol yea super hard to get the picz clear. But from what I can see you still have time in my opinion... Lots of glass aka clear trichs.. what kind of high are you looking for

There still milky clear u want 35-45%amber trics 👌depending on what u want out of her

if you want a chart go to "growweedeasy" it's pictures of trichomes clear, milky. amber remember this when the trichomes start to change to amber they change at the rate of 5% per week - so if you want 10%amber80%milky10%clear (will always have some clear)start your two week flush (if you flush)when you see the 1st amber trichome

Thank you mountainman , this is my second grow and last time I had to harvest early, thought I was getting mould, maybe I was but got away with it, so this time I want a more heavier effect, so I will be heading for round about what your saying, 40/50 percent amber, thank you :thumb: :nicethread:

Thank you Safeman, didn’t know that about the 5% per week, that’s good to know :thanks: And where’s that growweedeasy ? On here or the web ?

No hazmat, no system to speed dry, could you give me some guidance please 🙂
I use my oven it gets down to 170f so I hang it on the rack with a metal clip from bud to rack in oven. And leave door open for 30+45 minutes ....check to see if "dehydrated" ....if not another 30 or so. Anything higher and for longer periods I find to "scorch" the bud ..leaving a nasty flavor behind.

This is what I do to test my buds others may disagree 😁

I'm working toward building a drying room, but for now I am drying in paper bags on a table in the greenhouse, in the sun. They will be dry in about 4 days of this. I also throw some silica gel packs in the jar to get them nice and crispy, which is what I prefer for the grinder. You can also use a food dehydrator on the low setting... my friend has one w/ low setting of 90°F.

I've become somewhat of a mold expert, being that I live in mold central here in wet, tropical Hawaii. I would say I typically harvest early, and I'm very happy to get a harvest of mostly milky trichomes w/ a few amber. If there is a way for me to go beyond and get more amber, I'm all for it, but it will probably take a foliar spray of beneficial microbes and clearing vegetation around my greenhouses.

good luck & happy growing! 🪴
