Blue Dream FFOF Soil Grow

a little frustration i wont complain about but if it refuses to work at all that'll be different, but we will cross that bridge when we get there, the seed pod had come off the sprout but there was a membrane or something from inside the pod stuck to the sprout and would let it open so i had peeled it off when i noticed it had stretched alot without opening, after that it has been doing fine the first leaf set is starting and ill be leaving it under 24/7 light for the time being until it gets a little bigger then ill probly change it to 18/6

alright here we are again with an update for everyone's pleasure, i feel like my thread is very robotic and boring so hopefully i can really entertain you guys and girls a little more, so with that being said lets get a few pictures in here and see what you all think of my grow so far,
alright first up we have a group shot of all three girls, you'll notice they are all the same height, the 2 on the outsides had stunted growth from my attempt at super cropping so i got the closer to the lights with some pots i wasn't using

next up is the girl on the far right she is showing signs of a deficiency i just fed them today so i'm hoping that will take care of the problem if not she will get a flush with ph'd water and hopefully that will freshen her right up
20130730_151006.jpg

next we got a little bud porn, but not too much, the trichs are really starting to cover them nicely and this is marking day 30 into flower, just about half way there
20130730_151013.jpg

next up is my seedling it has been exactly 2 weeks today since it has gone into the soil and it looks very healthy im loving the super deep green color on it, it is currently in a 1 gal pot
20130730_150934.jpg

i just have a question or 2 about maintaining a mom, do i top it to once it has gotten to about 8 or 10 inches to keep it small and bushy or do i let it get a little bigger and then top it because it seems thats how people keep it short and then also should i defoliate a mother so i get more nodes or just let it get crazy? any and all suggestions, comment and constructive criticism is welcome here and let me know what you all think :peace:

I would top her and keep her short depending on your space. There is a great article called "Bonsai Mums: A Guide". Look it up.

Looks like a calcium deficiency in the one photo. The rust spots. May be PH related... Could always add some dolomite lime/garden lime to her.

well the intention is to definitely top her but how tall should she get first is the main question? thnx for that guide im definitely gonna read up on that

looks like that question is covered in this guide lol thnx again scar its very much appreciated

whats up everyone today i i just fed the girls about 5-10 minutes ago and also got some calmag for the one that had the deficiency and i flushed that one yesterday so hopefully the calmag will fix it. this time around i noticed i have been having issues like the one with the calcium defiency and possibly ph lockout problems and i couldnt figure out why, the difference was everytime i watered in my last grow i would put a full gallon of water through it with the nutrients and let the excess drain out so it would be a flush and feeding at the same time and there were no deficiencies at all during that grow so im thinking im gonna stick with that routine from now on
day_27_into_veg.jpg

first off we have the seedling at day 27 into its veg i cant wait to take a clone from this to find out its sex im hoping luck is on my side this little one is growing nice and strong, i started it out in a bigger pot so im not sure if that will be an issue, its gonna turn into a bonsai mom anyway so im thinking i wont have a problem

8-5_3.jpg

this one here is the one that was showing early signs during veg that she was a girl, she seems healthy i have been noticing the leaves curling downward and in like its got heat stress so i need to work on fixing my venting in the box
now for all those who are unsure about doing HST super cropping let me tell you it really works, i was a little worried i was gonna kill me plants but the one i did have turn female that was super cropped is really bursting with resin

8-5_7.jpg

once you get the hang of super cropping and become comfortable with it you will definitely notice the difference my biggest girl i didnt super crop because like i said i didnt want to kill them so she essentially turned into my control for that experiment of super cropping, i dont think i will be doing super cropping in the future, i will be trying a perpetual hempy grow and i dont see a reason to prolong it with super cropping, but i definitely wanted to let you guys know it does show a difference, let me know what you all think and thnx for checking out my grow :peace:

hey rain thnx for stopping in hope you enjoy the show

the difference was every time I watered in my last grow i would put a full gallon of water through it with the nutrients and let the excess drain out so it would be a flush and feeding at the same time

That is basically how I do it. I almost always have some runoff. I try to water first with plain water so the soil is soaked. Then I add the fertilizer and get a little more runoff. If you think about it mother nature flushes every time it rains? :hmmmm:

I like that you are trying new things. Even if you are not going to use it, I always say "Its another tool in the tool box."

I see they have some very sativa looking leaves in that Blue Dream. I hear it a 50/50 strain with sativa high that melts into an indica high.

Well, I ordered some Blue Dream. Sounds like a lot of people like it.

yea scar, every experience becomes a tool in the future, im currently checking to see if a 10/14 light cycle for flowering will help the budding along at a faster, i read it in a different forum and i didnt see any harm in trying it out
