My First Grow Trainwreck Big Bud Lemon Shunk

Thanks SurferBuddy, you're right, I added string and bamboo shoots, the bud sites are already showing on the clones, they look very healthy and are bushing out. Today is day 42 flowering and the buds are starting to fill out. I also took string to the taller shoots that grew above the lights and tied them sideways, the buds really started to fill in on them within the day, now the buds are growing up toward the light and look like they want to make their own colas, wouldn't that be nice?

Here's today's pics, my camera is old, 2 megapixel, I think I'll invest in new one soon. Thanks for watching CanuckGal.
So this is day 42 of flowering, so that makes it beginning of week 7 right? my clones are 11 days into flower. I also have a Advanced Biodiesel Mass Auto Feminised that is 40 days old from seed. I thought that my descriptions would automatically show up with my pics, but they didn't. Still trying to get use to using this site. Thanks for watching. God Bless/grace

Wow, it's getting crowded in there-- for the photos that are out of focus, it looks like you're holding the camera too close to the plant... some of those older cameras can't focus closer than X inches...

Lookin good@!

Thanks SurferBuddy, your grow looks great too. The weather cooled down today, thank God, but it'll creep back up on Wednesday. What a hot spring we've had, summer just started, wonder what Mother Nature has in store for the rest of the summer. I thought that I wouldn't have to deal with this early, I can't wait to try my grow in the fall and winter. Anyway, it is a great hobby, and the anticipation is nerve wrecking, wish I had some smoke to help with the anxiety.:thanks::Namaste: God Bless/grace

Thats coming along well bro.. Nice job. Im really liking this scrog idea wanna LST a big plant round its perimeter amd then scrog it or super crop.. Goodluk and Happy Harvesting;)

Yeah, LST and scrog is the way to go, it really has shown alot more growth in the last week, this is week 7 of flowering can't wait for harvest./Thanks/grace:welcome:

Looks great Grace!! I love that first picture in your second post, the view of all your plants and the scrog. Looks like they are all coming along nicely, nice and big! Are those smart pots that you are using?

As for our co2/yeast plan, I'm sure every little bit helps, however you have such a large grow I don't think one bottle will be enough. I'd suggest one bottle for each plant. Bowls will work and release more co2 with the larger surface area, however as I said, they dry up very quickly. My single bottle seems to do a good job, but I'm going to add a second one right away. This will plump up the buds :)

I'm not sure of I totally understand scrog vs lst. With the scrog, does the grate support the weight of the bud and allow it to get bigger? What's the technique to pull stuff through the grate, like how do you know where to pull it through without shading too much of the plant?

I bet your dog is really enjoying the cooler weather, him being black and all. hopefully he realizes what a great mama he has, and doesn't try to bolt again lol.

Have an awesome day! *hugs*

:thanks:CanuckGal, Yeah my dogs are loving being outside and laying on the grass. I have 5 dogs, 2 cats, and no kids. I'm aunt Gracie to everyone else's kids, and I love it. I think I'm getting enough fresh air from the trap door in the floor (how lucky is that to discover that door, I didn't even know it was there.) But anyway, I did what every 1st timer does, I had to have a taste. So, I cut a small bud off the bottom of my last plant, it is the smallest and seems to be drying out, but the buds are still growing. So, my friend, here's a pic for you. I took a tiny piece and smoked it in my bong, it was hard to smoke at first, but taste fine to me. I do have a High right now, I've been smoking fan leaves instead of buying any more crap out there for $140.00/oz.

Anyway, yeah those are smartpots I got for around $5.00 a piece on ebay, with cheap shipping. They are 5 gallon pots, the handles make it so easy to move things around.

Also with the scrog method, this is my first grow ever, but what I did was use cat litter pans, placed them upside down, and placed the pots on top closer to the light, as they strected toward the light, they grew into the grates by themselves, some times I would adjust them to make room, but be careful, as I bent them and broke one, so gentle. Hope this helps, Hope you're having a great day too.

How's your grow coming, good? Hugs/grace

P.S. The grates help support the weight of the BIG BUDS (Please God, make them BIG):laughtwo: and the scrog basically will support your whole plant, giving your stems support against the fan and the weight. You could do the same with bamboo plant sticks, hope this helps/grace:Namaste:

just noticed looking at my notes, the plant i thought was big bud is actually a bigbang. Also i forgot to mention that all my seeds were feminized, so no boys here. Has anyone grown bigbang from herbies, and what kind of yield may at get for 1st time grow? Thank you/grace

Well, aunt Gracie.....all I can say is Bravo! :high-five:
Your using every bit of your space wisely. Love your cat by the way.
The additives you talked about on the last page are good to use and will fatten your girls up a bit before harvest.
Use them lightly at first just to make sure they agree with your girls. A very nice first grow you have going. Keep it up! :bravo:

Lol sounds like you have a zoo with all those animals, I have one dog, and he's just enough for me. No kids over here either, I'm definitely not in a rush for them, and I also enjoy being auntie lol.

Thanks for explaining scrog for me, Im a noob here too, so we are all learning together.

I can totally see myself taking a little taste in the last few weeks, generally I'm a patient person, but I'm with you, why pay for random weed, when you have home grown right here!

Thank you for checking my grow, hope you'll keep checking in, as you've been member of the month:bravo: And live in Hawaii, lucky you, thanks for your encouragement!!God Bless/grace:Namaste:

Hey girlfriend, thanks for checking in, how's your grow, I'll be over to your site to check in on you, and yes, I do have a zoo, but I love my animals.:circle-of-love: The smoke was pretty good for not being cured. God Bless/grace:Namaste:

Here's last nights pics, I gave a heavy flush of rainwater mixed with a light compost tea and molasses, bloom, and thrive, watered it all down and they just soaked it up. Also had to pull shelves away from the wall to make room for my clones. :Namaste:/grace

Hot day outside this is after 10 minutes out.

I made a mistake today and forgot to turn off my lights, temps are hot today in the 90's . Anyway I turned off the lights at 5:00, I've been running the lights from 12am to 12pm. So I had my lights on for 17 hours, I also gave them a flush of rainwater last night. They are on day 47 flowering, did I harm them? Should I continue with the regular schedule? Also, this being week 6 and almost into week 7, should I give it one more big feeding, or continue with flushing at this time? Thanks for your help/grace:peace:

Hi Grace. That's a tough question.

You may get away with lights being on in hot weather those extra hours. Obviously it wasn't good for them. It could cause them to Hermie and produce unwanted seeds. The seeds would be no good anyway. That is worst casing it, so it may not happen.

If it were me I would feed them one more time. I looked up the Lemon Skunk's finishing time and the seed bank said to let her go another week = 9 weeks. That's what I did to mine and it helped.

Do you have any way to check the trics? That's the real way to know if they are ready to harvest. Radio Shack has a cheap one. $14.95. If you see about 20% amber they are ready to chop. Later as you get more experience, you'll know how you like them.

On another thought...if you harvest early....I'm sure you would at least get a good up head high.

I wish I could help you more...but that's my take. Good luck Girl! :cheer:
