As for pics, they have to be a weekend thing. This weekend, I promise. There's not much to see ATM.

I only have 3 of the 27 oz of Blue Dream. I need to stay honest on my limits so I had to get rid of most of it immediately. It went to a good cause.

The G13xGBs are still drying, but they look frosty as ever.

I'll get pics of both of those as well.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I am a fan of yours, keep up the good work, and have you ever thought about adding in some UV-B?

There are some good videos/documentation on adding UV-B to increase the potency of the plants.

Quick read:

Just google this " Trichomes, THC and UVB light....."

Thanks. I have thought about UV-B. I bought a tanning bed to dismantle and re-factor just for that. It's a project for after the expansion gets done. Stay tuned - I'll get to it eventually. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Today I went to visit a family member out of town. I gave them L3.1A, L1.1B and all of the remaining cuttings (16 assorted) as I didn't need any of them. While I was there, someone else there gave me some seeds:

20100822Aber-01.jpg

The two big are "Elephant Bud" and the small one is "Maple Leaf Indica". I love experiments. I guess I better bone up on sprouting from seed. I have only done clones so far.

That finishes a major change in the makeup of the plants in my possession. I now have 6 in bloom: MT4, MT5, BD.2A, MT3.1B, MT3.1C & G13xGB.2A.

In large veg I have 4 plants: G13xGB.2F, G13xGB.2G, BD.3A & BD.3B.

20100822Aber-13.jpg

At the mid size veg in a 3.5" pot I still have L1.1A, but as soon as I can take clones from her she will go away too.

20100822Aber-14.jpg

At the smallest end of veg, I have the 8 I just transplanted from the clone dome, which is now empty and needs a new set of cuttings.

20100822Aber-15.jpg

I think I may put the strawberry plant into the bloom room and see if it responds to the light change. I also need to dig out my desert rose and baobab tree seeds and get them going. The baobabs take months to germ I guess.

Someone local(-ish) was asking about my bloom feed schedule. It starts out with the recipe from step 4 of the bloom feed above (except for the Big Foot - every plant gets 1 tsp/gal of that for the first three waterings after transplant, and then no more). Every two feeds (or so) after the initial bloom feed, I bump up one of four ingredients from 1 tsp/gal to 2 tsp/gal. Those four, in the order I try to bump them, are Soil Nute, Feather Tea, Calcium Syrup, and Liquid Fish Bone Meal. The recipe then stays static until 31 days before projected harvest (H-31). I'll get back to what I do at that point later.

I was also asked by the same person about my cloning foliar spray. The recipe for that is:

Per gal:
2 t Feather tea
1 t Notrozyme
1 T Ful-power
1 T yucca
pH target: 6.40 (±.03)

Note that I also use the same spray to wet the rootball when transplanting so that the myco dust I use (Williewann's Wonder Dust, sp?) will stick.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I just love seeing all the beautiful ladies when I drop by brother...those are plants grown for weight! And I just love how the newbies drop by and give you advice...what about your grow makes people think you need help? :tokin:

As far as I can see, you have high trichome counts on all your buds...UV-B grow trichomes on trichomes? :)

:peace: brother.

Adding UV-B is a good project to see if it will indeed increase the potenency of the plants.

I hope Aberration get the sun tanning lamps up and going, because he sure does a great job with experiments and keeping good notes.

Thank you MH. I always welcome suggestions though. Either I will learn or the person making the suggestion will. Either way it's a positive thing. :)

I am looking forward to that project, but it will probably be a couple months at least before I get started. I have an expansion of my grow space to complete first. I appreciate the compliments. ;)

The two G13xGBs I harvested last week are in quart jars now:

20100824Aber-01.jpg

Although some of it is less dense than I like, it's great stuff and will suit my purposes just fine:

20100824Aber-02.jpg

I got a total of 531g between the two plants, which works out to just about a gram shy of 18 3/4 oz, or an average of just over 9 1/3 oz per plant. I know that's a good number, but this strain typically nets more than that, so I need to try to see if I can see what I did wrong this time. This is exactly why I record everything I do. I suspect it may have to do with my pruning/training this time around though.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Hey Abe,

Haven't stopped by in a while and commented on your great work. Glad to see things are (((great))). I was going through some of my books and mags that I keep as reference material and found a great mag on UV rays. Your the first person I thought of as I was flip'n through it. I recall you getting that tanning bed. Let me know if you want me to get you the info, the read is very informative and well detailed, just like your grow. Its very thorough on the pro's & con's of UV rays. Its give detailed info on the right spectrum and how UV is to be applied.

Anyhow, great work as usual brotha.:)

I apologize for my comment before, I was out of place brother, I do not need to defend Aberration. His work speaks volumes to his skill...:adore:

(And I knew you just hadn't read his journals or you would know he is already looking into it...:))

:passitleft:Ere, pass it to Aberration brother....:peacetwo:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I would love that information! Thanks! If you want to just give me a citation I can see if I can find it on the web.

:peace:

Will do :), don't know if they have a web page containing that article. What I can do is research it and if so then I'll give a link to it. If not, then I can just digitize the article and post it on one of the forums then just link it, that way everyone has the info. Its a pretty lengthy article, so that would be the best route if its not available via their site.

But either way I WILL GET YOU THE INFO :)

Thanks Butcher, that would be much appreciated.

I did skip a few pages due to the length, but I did try to read ass much as my eyes would let me.

Hehe. It's not all exciting. Lots of booooring feed details. Good to have you here though. Anybody that can read more than a little of this journal is alright by me. ;)

A boring feed report is coming up, in fact...

Your feed reports make your journal that much more important than the rest in my opinion. The science is in the details, and sir you do the work well!

I spend alot of time reading due to my current employment status.

You sir are doing the work that I wish my bank account could do, but if my fall harvest turns out (The Hog), I plan on doing a grow journal my self w/UVB and a Sativa such as S.A.G.E. from THSEEDS. I have a connection that will provide me with 2 medical grade UVB sterilization lamps. I have become a fan of Indicas, but the more I read about Sativas make me wonder...Will it cure my ADD? :blunt:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I don't know if a sativa will help ADD, but it's a nice thing to smoke. ;)

As previously mentioned, my attention to this journal and to the forum in general will be spotty to non-existant for the next 7-10 days. I'll try, but real life intrudes. This is definitely not a bad intrusion ;), but I shouldn't share more for security reasons. The next 4 feeds will be done by someone else and I may or may not be able to post what they have done, although it is possible. And pics are right out. I will be here to feed on a regular basis again on September 6th.

Ciao!
