Help needed: what's wrong with these plants?

Thanks a lot.

- Few of my buds have grown very tall. They are not growing taller anymore tho.
- My lights burned few buds and leafs. So there is this dead buds and leafs now. I am removing the dead buds and leafs next.
- I also moved the lights around so they woundt burn more buds or leafs.

The whole branch of buds under the lights are very dry. Not just the burned ones.

I guess there is nothing else to do?
The burned buds shouldnt create me any problems?

The only buds that are completely brown and dead are the ones under the lights. Everywhere else all good. So it must be burned. Nothing to do w the plant dying.

So I am just cutting out w sciscors any dead buds and leafs

Can someone confirm this? Thanks
Just move your light up some.18 inch's away should take care that

Can you post another photo for us?

I think its burned because of the light because its only in the buds under the light and on the side of the bud that the lights hit. The other side of the bud is green. Like the top part and left side is burned: right side and under the top side all green. Other not so tall buds green.

So just cut it out w sciscors? No need to harvest earlier than planned?

Also little bit worried I am hurting the plant w my sciscoring and that it may affect it negatively

Now I found a dead buds in a branch thats far away from the lights so it cant have died to light burn. Now I am really worried.

I think I should harvest now… hmm

I have some buds laying down. They cant stay straight up. And the dead one was pretty much away from the light. So i guess it died to lack of light?

I am still trying to figure out how to get most of the buds that arent straight back up. They are leaning against other buds and the tents walls now.

I post more pictures later

some of the buds, especially those down low or hidden beneath the canopy, will atrophy. As long as you can see a cause for something like this, don't sweat it. The big problems happen all over the plant... they are the ones to get freaked out about.

Your problem of some of the buds laying down is a common problem ... the buds just get too heavy with trichomes for the plant to be able to hold them up. This is a good problem to have! Some give silica all through the grow to strengthen the branches, but many of us have to resort to trellises, bamboo, yo-yo devices and string, tomato cages to hold the plants up to the light, and the list is as long as our collective imaginations. Do what you have to do to hold those branches upright.

Just remove the burnt parts

Tie your branches up like this.
DSCF0862.JPG

This plant is really flimsy so had to tie it up all over the place. Don't usually have to do this, but I didn't use Silica on this grow.
As far as the fried buds. I'd cut them off & continue my grow. You may as well see how it turns out at this point.
What are your temps like. I see some Taco leaves which makes me think it's too hot.

How are the trichomes looking now?

Celcius 21-30c. 21+ at night.
My fans are turned off.
I think the buds are close enough the light to create that symptom in the leafs. The highest buds burn. I cant raise the lamps higher as they are at max hight which the tent allows

36-51% humidity.

Some trichomes are very white. There is some brownish trichomes in some. Some are pretty full brownish and feel dry if i touch. Even the branch is dry.

Also there is still big infestion. Gotta do some spraying again

Can we please see a close-up of one of your best buds? (I don't mean from a microscope)

What kind of bugs do you have?

Looking at the buds themselves – i.e. the calyxes of the buds, not the sugar leaves – if you've got mostly white trichomes, and some amber, you could harvest now. It's up to you. Here's some great info about trichomes.

I have thrips. Ive been spraying em w 3/4 teaspoon of natura liquid soap, 6 drops of orange essential oil and half a gallon (US) water.

Ive been spraying under the leafs too and the trunks and branches. 3-4 days later i spray w only water.

In terms of harvesting now. Wondering how big of impact it will have on my harvest as I am about 2-3 weeks away from normal harvest. The last 2 weeks the buds gain their most gains if I have understood it right.
- 33% smaller?
-50% smaller harvest?
- 66% smaller?
- 75% smaller?

Here are some pictures. I attached few pics of the buds that look burned too. They are burned from the top. And only some of the buds UNDER the lights. So it really tells me its just the lights.

I have 3 lights. One left. One center. One right. I could turn off one of the lights but for how long. The rest of the 3 weeks?

I also attached some good looking buds too.

This one seems farther along than the others... more brown stigmas...

I thought you cut off the dying buds, but I see them in the photos. As long as you don't have more buds dying, then I'd say you could wait for harvest until more trichomes have turned milky and amber. Keep an eye out for possible bud rot as well, because that's another reason to harvest early. Looks like you've tied up the buds to support them... that's good.

If you feel the lights are burning your plants, and the are already elevated as high as you can get them, then yes, you could turn one off – it's up to you.

Thanks.

Trying to figure out the difference between how burned buds and bud rot looks like. What tells me this is light burn is the location of which buds have these burned symptoms.

That one looks burned, not bud rot. You can use your microscope or magnifying glass to see the start of bud rot, which looks like THIS (also continued on the following page HERE).

Hate to advise you of bad news ma’am but you’ve got crotch critters, the hard part is going to be spraying leaf undersides with trellis net in place. The light colored spots are known as honeydew which is residue from pests, aphids perhaps.

It helps to nuke the crap out of plants with pest control in the weeks before entering flower cycle. Suspect ph and watering issues as well.

welcome aboard Vivianna, hang tight and we will get you sorted
? will neem work on these?

My opinion is, not a good idea to use neem during flowering.
