Yesterday I got this in the mail.....

My Perfect Pipe! Thank you @PerfectPipe! Part of the NOTM prize package, and I couldn't wait to try this puppy out. I waited until this morning so I could try it from scratch as the first buzz of the day.

Smoking out of the Perfect Pipe is definitely a different experience. Basically just a grind, fill, tamp, and light like a cigar. The filter in the mouth end is almost exactly like a cigarette filter, and you change it with each new bowl.

A bowl fully packed and tamped down pretty good in this pipe gave me four long, slow draw hits. This is exactly as advertised. The hit feels different than any other way I smoke, I would think primarily due to the filter. It is a cleaner, smoother hit. Perhaps not with the "heft" of a bonghit or hit off a joint, since the smoke is filtered.

I smoked one bowl of the Blueberry. The amount of bud was WAY less than I would have put into my bong to smoke. So I would have to say that their claim that it will save you a lot of weed is WAY true. If I only smoked out of this my weed would last forever. The one bowl of ground weed out of the Perfect Pipe got me every bit as high as my usual morning bonghit, and then some. I will have to experiment some more to further assess how the cleanliness of the smoke affects the buzz, but early returns are positive.

So then I wanted to see how it would do with a packed bowl of kief.


It works with kief too. Really well. In the case of the kief bowl, it had a definite impact on the smoothness of the kief. A straight bowl of kief (I never do that really) would make me cough like a demon no matter how clean it is. Smoking it from the Perfect Pipe I didn't cough at all. It tasted like a dream. Clean kief tastes fabulous. For this test I used the kief from the scrog that went hermie a few grows back. It burns up much faster than the weed obviously, but I still got two gigantic, awesome draws from one packed pipe.

I might like it better for kief!!

Overall I really like this thing. I can already see that with the little round plastic jar for ground bud, the extra pipe and filters and screens, and cool plastic end caps to protect the glass, not to mention that all of that comes in the excellent little carrying case in the picture - this has just become my go to pipe for gigs!!! It's perfect for that!!! And thanks again to the Perfect Pipe folks for being a dedicated sponsor to all of us here at 420. Most appreciated!!

haha aint no joke my friend! in fact I let my brothers wife start using one since Shes changing her medication to this fine herb instead of big pharmas crap. Well they have young kids that pick up on everything so she would use oil pens that were for dry herb as well as concentrates to imitate the regular society's up and coming bad habits with vaping tobacco these days! SOoo I told her not to toke in front of the kids with it because they might already know what crack is these days watching breaking bad and get the wrong impression one day

It's connected to my 25 years ago jail time of 113 days of my life. It happens. Phew am I glad it's not the 80s anymore. The drugs were great but the music sucked. Lmao.

Fortune may be smiling on me, I got my order from NASC today. To refresh your memory I ordered the Strawberry Banana auto which included 2 freebies. They sent me Strawberry Pie autos and the 2 freebies were White Widow & Great White Shark autos. Not too excited about the freebies but the Strawberry Pie claims 26% so that sounds great. I notified them and haven't heard back. I'm hoping they tell me to just keep the SP and they'll send me the SB. I'm not sure how they could guarantee the integrity of the seeds if you've gotten into them. What's to keep someone from just sending back some bagseeds? With my luck they'll be out of the SB again lol!

Just wondering here, but when a site claims a 26% percent of THC for a strain what does that mean? Does that mean it examined all the acid molecules and 26% of them were THC? Or does it mean that on some kind of potency scale it's at 26? I've never really thought much about it, just always equated higher with better. I assume all THC is the same but I'm not sure about that either. If it's always the same why would switching strains help prevent developing a tolerance? Thinking about some of the great weed around in the 70's (where I was most of it wasn't great at all, but once it a while something came around) makes me wonder what % THC they might have had.

Hey BK, good evening to you. Wow, that's the first time I ever saw a mistake from them. My guess is that they will do exactly what you said. You'll end up with the SBs as well and probably more freebies. Meanwhile, the Strawberry Pie sounds interesting and is similar THC. The SB's claimed to go to 27%.

Which leads to your question. I always understood it to mean that in the opinion of the breeder, if you grow the plant just right under the right conditions, you can potentially achieve up to whatever % thc. I think of it as the breeder's estimate of best case scenario. Others may give different answers, not sure, but that's what I always have operated on. Of course the cynical answer is they put whatever number they want on to sell seeds.

In the case of real breeders who do real testing and actually know what they're doing, like Humboldt, this is not some pie in the sky estimate based on them smoking the bud and guessing. It's more like what they have been able to achieve best case scenario, likely averaged would be my guess, and based on literally years of phenotype selection and testing. It's the houses that release new hybrids nobody's ever heard of every five minutes where I take it as a sign that those are likely not nearly as long-term tested as places like Humboldt, DNA Genetics, Dutch Passion, Barney's Farm, etc.... And I have found that the more responsible breeders will even include such information.

There is much in my answer above that is purely just my opinion, so please understand that. I am by no means downing any breeder or genetics or otherwise. People can grow whatever they want and buy from whoever they want. I personally think if someone asks "what is the very first thing to begin with when growing," the answer should be "good genetics." Just me.

Wow I struggle with keeping up on three small plants...is this johnny pot seeds grow op wtf lol.

It's complete insanity. Big, deep, troughs full of long-term living soil he's perfected over 40 years of growing, a variation on Subcool's mix. Four troughs per greenhouse, each one goes the whole length of the house. He grows with sunlight and augmented LED in veg - Gavita 1700e Pro's. So in veg, that whole greenhouse gets lights that come on a slider and all that and kick in when the sun gets to a certain level. Then in flower the lights go and it's all the sun. Light leaks you wonder? Me too. The outside of the greenhouse has the system where there's the entire structure is completely covered on the outside. The skin comes down either side from the roof. Not cheap. He's got water feeding containers on the outside that look like water towers - 1000s of gallons. Each greenhouse is 100% thermostatically/environmentally controlled in terms of temp and Rh, which is how he can get away with having such few fans up top. He puts out between 250-300 pounds a year with this setup. At least that's what he sells to the dispensaries. Lol.

Dude also has an entire indoor setup, like a 40x40 space, where he grows strictly Gavita LED's and saves that stuff for his friends and him. (I am lucky enough to be a very good friend of this person's, known him 40 years.)

I remember when our band was first starting out, he started to come around with his weed. He just started growing, closet in his bedroom kind of thing. His weed sucked all the time. We used to give him a raft of crap about it. But he's the kind of dude that once he gets pissed, he gets ultra focused. And us telling him about his chumpy ass brown tasting weed got him pissed.

Now, he does this.

He is also lucky and connected enough that he somehow at some point met and became friends with all the guys in Widespread Panic. He is to them as I was to the Dead. Only he's also their weed guy!!!! Jealous doesn't begin to describe my feelings on that.

He's also the only person I know personally who makes his own THC diamonds. Ever smoke a diamond? They're fun. Basically take everything you think you know about smoking weed and toss it out the window. Diamonds - REAL ones - are a different entity entirely.

Wow awesome and holy loaded full of information... To have a grow that big I would have to stop all other hobbies lol. And diamonds you say lol I have absolutely tried THC diamonds....only issue I see with the diamonds is that if you smoke them often it ruins flower as the diamonds give you so much THC that I stop getting high off flower...so now thcD are only for quick highs or when I'm low on flower.
