New to growing

You’ll have to find a “happy median” between the 2. It my understanding Coco is watered appropriately 3x per day, with nutes at a reduced amount from basically day one pH’d to around 5.8 keeping the coco “moist”, With soil you’d feed/water after the soil is dry (2-3 days) pH’d to around 6.3. I guess do whatever your buddy was doing if his crop turned out well, give updates along the way.
I'm using a 70/30 mix of FFOF & Coco. I use Mega Crop & pH is always 6.5. I have to feed everyday though or it dries out.
I feed about 36 oz. per plant at 4 weeks old. Started at 12 oz. then 24 oz. & now up to 36 oz.
Here's a couple pics.... I highly suggest doing some type of LST. You will get a bigger yield. Quadlining is an excellent way to LST. 3 plants GG, Gorilla Girl & Afghan Kush. This is what LST does for your plants. I didn't quadline. Just started bending branches over as far as possible & tied them down.

I dont know what quad lining is lol

Quadlining is when you top once & when the 4 branches start growing out you tie all 4 back like a cross as flat as you can get them. A bunch more branches will form when you do this & you'll get more yield. I seen @Canadadoes Posted a link on how to do it in your thread. Also @InTheShed does a great job at it.

my second plant looks like the leaves are curling upwards? this one def needs some cal mag when I get it

You see, that’s what confuses me about mixing coco with soil. It’s 100% do able, and is very beneficial, but at what properties are we following... the soil, or coco...

@Buds Buddy just had a really good comment. :ciao:
My soil has a little bit of everything and I still in put at 6.3-6.5 without any issues.
  • Aged Bark
  • Bat Guano
  • Coco Coir
  • Perlite
  • Sphagnum Peat Moss
  • Volcanic Ash
  • Worm Castings

Can someone help me out with my leaves look like the edges are starting to turn yellow. Also a yellow spot on one leaf.

Thanks

Here is an update as to where I am at. I have laid off nutes the past two watering and the plants are really starting to grow now. I tested my RO water in three different ways, test strips, water test kit where you drop 3 dropplets in and compare the color and digital meter. seems like my test strips are not working accurately. Both water test kit and digital meter are coming out pretty much with the same reading. My RO straight not adding a thing is coming out between 6.4 - 6.7 which is weird cause I thought RO is around 5.5. I also started two clones the dome is off when I took photos and just misting the leaves as I heard that is only the place they can absorb water until they have a root.

thanks for all the help and guidance
