Shrike's 1st Journal - Multiple Strains

Re: Shrike's 1st Journal - Using PlatinumLED P900 x 2 - DocBud's "Kit" - Multiple Sta

I've added trimmings to my "2nd" bin of unused soil. It eats it in 5-7 days at my grow room temps (78-82).

LOL. Sometimes you worry the soil is going to get out at night and do damage. Warmer temps can really ramp up the activity! Plants love soil like that, especially with C02. But that soil makes Co2 also.

5-7 days till gone is A1. That's about as good as it gets. A good barrel of soil has a warmth and vibration to it. Your hands feel good holding them over the soil, and if you dig a little your hands don't get dirty...you can just brush it off.

That is the sign of a good Cal/Mag ratio. Well, done!

:)

I can indeed just wipe it off if I put my hands in it...and it smells wonderful!

I'm almost out of Roots! though. Down to my last tablespoon. I'm just using it to dust in the trimmings now. Gonna need some more "supplies" in a few weeks. ;)

Thanks, Zig!

They are looking great so far in Veg...long way to go yet. Can't wait to see how they develop in Flowering. All of you guys currently HB'ing are a tremendous inspiration and a very high standard to climb toward...

Damn...where does that place me then?! In the corner of the living room playing with my old Tonka Toys I guess...:slide::laugh:

Re: Shrike's 1st Journal - Using PlatinumLED P900 x 2 - DocBud's "Kit" - Multiple Sta

...another question for Doc or anyone that knows...

When I make a a Drench with Growth Energy/Transplant/Tea...can I use it over more than one day? And if so, what is the maximum time?

I am doing the Drench tonight, however a couple of my plants are not dried out as much as the others and I would prefer to wait until tomorrow at the earliest to give them their drench...

I keep Growth Energy for a day or two.....but not Transplant or Cat Drench. Those two will bloom. Ditto Brix----will grow green scum fast, but DeStress can be kept in the fridge for about 5 days.

Gotcha Doc, I wanted to take the lazy way out and mix up a full batch for them all, but I will do the math and just make up enough for the ones' I will Drench tonight...:thumb:

Gov,.you may want to order now., Doc may be quite busy after the LA CC :)

Shit I would, but I'm still not sure what I'll need yet: Roots!, 2nd round amendment and transplant most likely, so I'll get those in larger amounts or I may just get another full kit. Either way I win...lmao

:peace:

I was thinking the same thing. I want more before Doc gets too busy.

haha funny you mention that doc. since i warmed up the flower room the kit soil bin in there is crazy alive. Shopping bags full of trimmings disappear with the quickness.

I'll never be too busy, and the last people I would ever let down would be the folks here.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict you will soon be in great demand - both for your knowledge and for your kit. You may need a bigger cement mixer soon...

But that is a good thing!

It is time for a paradigm shift, even if it is simply a modern return back to nature. That is what I am seeing this as, especially as I read more and more of the mineral science that you are opening our eyes to.

And what perfect timing for this right before prohibition lifts and everyone holding a nute bottle is blown out of the water by RJR or PMorris (or fricken Budweiser) growing with the same nutes, but in MASSIVE grows...

1000s of years of recorded soil knowledge (locations) mixed with modern cannabis science, a testing lab and one tenacious and kind soul to glue it all together, box it up into an idiot proof kit, and then patiently hold our hands thru the learning curve... bless ya!

And even tho I feel like johnny-come-lately among the HB crew here, I am SOO stoked to be growing with your kit, getting my hands all dirty... Gardening is fun again and my plants wanted me to let you know "thanks Doc!"

Have fun this weekend!

:Namaste:

I hear ya bro!

I always use the wine industry as a guide.....and while there are indeed large production wine makers, around here the small operations that produce extremely good quality are thriving.....even as the large lot producers are also doing well, but for different reasons.

Smaller wine makers around here sell all their wine through their wine clubs....direct shipping and "pickup" parties are how they get their products to market, with no retail/wholesaling.

There is ALWAYS room for high quality! And agribusiness will grow weed as soon as they are allowed, and they'll probably "fortify" their crappy buds with kief or some sort of THC extract....and they'll probably be decent in many cases.......but there will always be room for high quality!

Of course, this HB gear can easily grow by the acre.....so who knows?

If big Agra starts growing high brix then show me where the flying pigs are. It's just not in their nature to go with nature. A farming revolution is in order. Wouldn't it be neat if growing cannabis led to an agricultural revolution?

Agribusiness won't ever use nature. They prefer sterile soil, glycophosphates, fungicides and IPM....with triple 20 tossed in the dirt prior to planting. They would rather choose a GM crop that can grow in horrible soil and yield well. They rely on cronies and bought and paid for politicians to CREATE the market for their crap by regulating small farmers out of business.

But a guy like me, with a tractor and come contracted labor could just as easily plant a couple acres High Brix and sell it some other way, IE farmer's market, roadside stand, club, etc.

Here's the thing: I fully believe that it will be illegal in this country to grow or sell food (or cannabis) commercially if a farmer doesn't subscribe to BigAg's products and methods. The public is already revolting againt GMO's and every supermarket now has "organic" sections.

Big Ag sees this as a threat, but they're far more likely to change via politics the definition of "organic" to include their chemicals as they are to change what they do!

They desire control and monopoly. We desire freedom and variety.....but they have the guns.

This is why I'm headed to South America.....grow your own food if at all possible! And if you can't find someone who does and buy from them. Let the other crap rot in the supermarket.....and it rots fast!

Not much going on in the garden (which is a good thing).

One thing I didn't mention at the start of this grow is that for the first time I am using the "Gas Light Routine". I slightly modified mine because I don't know how sensitive my strains are to a reduced light regimen during Veg lighting. I decided to go with 12h on, 5:15h off, 1:30h on and 5:15h off. I figured the extra half hour on would ensure that none of the plants try to flip to flowering...so far...so good.:thumb: ...and I still get to save a bunch on the electric bill.

When I do flip to flowering, I will probably start at 12/12, but then reduce it to 11/13 after the Cat Drench in Week 4...

I'll get around to posting up some more Veg pic's later in the week...I know it doesn't get sexy until I can post up some flowering porn...hey, I'm looking forward to that myself!
