Aussie Backyard Grow

Hey guys, first post on the site! Just thought it would be nice to put my grow up and see if anyone has any advice or anything. I've tried growing before, but the plants never got past vegetation state... my chickens got to them first. :(

Anyways I planted some assorted seeds around the 10th of October, so they've been growing just under 2 months now. Sorry for the lack of photos, I wasn't planning on making a grow journal. 3 Sativa and 2 Indicas.

Just after they popped up:

12 days in, this is just one of them after I moved her to a bigger pot.

14 days in, one of the plants has a burn (think it was nutrient burn?). Ended up clearing itself up, gave it water only. I pulled off the bottom 2 dead leaves and pulled off the next two from the bottom.

27 days, I started training one plant and left the other to see the difference:

More photos later tonight :)

Subbed...try and always move her, not him, lol..

20 days later; 47 days into the grow, this is what my main two look like. The plants that have sprouted up in between are sunflowers. They've since been dug up by the chickens but luckily they left the important plants alone!

I'll snap some up to date pictures of all 5 of them tomorrow.

Hey mate, looking good.

If you are in Aus you should look at getting some Seasol (liquid kelp), does wonders for the root system and helps with the heat.

Are you using any nutrients and able to check pH?

All that chicken manure should be a nice fert, I would like to try organic one day (not as easy in hydro).

Do you have some way to initiate flowering with 12/12 lighting or are you just going to let them mature naturally?

Keep it up man, best of luck! :Namaste:

His plants are in the ground, no need to check p/h.

5 days later, that'd be 53 days into the grow, and the pictures are now current.

These are my biggest two, the ones that most of my photos have been of.

I accidentally broke the top off my biggest one, it looks alright though, and it was only half the top that came off.

And this is it's stem, pretty fat and strong compared to everything else I've grown

This little indica was the one that got burnt at the start, and it's still really small but what's the go with the purple stem on the two highest leaves? I decided to pin it down less so it gets more sun, see if that gives it a size boost.

There's been no photos of these ones since they were tiny, there's one indica and one sativa growing here. They're smaller than the others but it's probably just because they don't get as much light right?

Same plant spread out, it usually runs half up the back of the passionfruit daisy, and half sits out the front (like above)

I've already used Seasol at around 15 and 30 days into the grow, but I read the back and it's the wrong nutrients for the vegetative state isn't it?

Annnd, some new ones have started popping up.

I was just going to let them mature naturally... would putting a black bucket over them 12 hours a day do the job? And would you recommend this or just letting them finish naturally?

59th day of the grow. Added some blood and bone fertiliser to the soil of my biggest two, and the 3 I've recently started I put some Seasol and blood and bone right through the dirt before planting.

Haha careful mate it all looks pretty good you might end up with monsters!

Are you doing any kind of traininig or just letting them go wild and see what happens?

I've got them wrapped around a few bamboo poles spiralling around upwards, and the stems are pretty fat because of it. The plants that have been trained are way bigger.

Updating with some new pictures!

92 days into the grow for my first plants now! They're almost getting TOO big

The one on the left was is also 92 days old, but it was stunted until a few weeks ago, changed pot and BAM, it's filling out. The littler ones would be about 35 days old now.

Looking good mate,

So no signs of sex yet? I suppose we are getting 14 hour days at this time of year so your plants will only initiate flowering based on maturity not photo-period.

Your new growth (to my untrained eye) looks a tiny bit yellow. Are they getting enough Nitrogen? You can probably mix up some great organic fert with the chicken manure, or some fish emulsion (like power feed). If they are getting fed enough N your soil pH might be too high, do you add lime when mixing your soil or know its pH?

Hope it grows well!

:Namaste:

Day 114 for the big plants now, they're finally showing pistils!

Hey guys just a quick post today

I started my flowering plants on some 0-9-0-11 (high phosphorous/sulfur) fert because they're flowing and the tips have curled and the leaves are dark as in the pictures... It's only really on this part of one plant though. It's gotten a bit worse since the pictures were taken, I scraped out the nutrients that I could and watered it and we're getting a storm tonight so I'm hoping that'll flush them a bit... Is there anything else I should do? Should I at least pull off these affected leaves? I get so scared for my babies

Leave them on until they fall or dry out . They're absorbing the punishment from the shit you burnt them with . They'll be fine Lookin good
