Auto Guerilla Grow Near Glasgow - Scotland

No chance. Besides ripping up plants from the ground is a BAD idea. That would totally stress them to fuck. Sunday is the day for chopping. If i had been sensible earlier i could have noted which plants had budrot and could have cut them on sunday and leaving the rest another 13 days so they would have fulfilled their potential. Even a trip out tomorrow or sat will prob not show much budrot so it be a wasted trip. Once we get ready to trim we'll inspect closer and get rid of any budrot.

I think leaving the plants could possibly lead to them gaining up to 20% weight but may lose the same or even more from budrot.

The THC Bomb has potential for purple hues.

I think you should cut them sunday, maybe leave some of the least infected plants another week or 2, I estimate I lost around 30% to budrot this year...

Too bad you can't have a little indoor space to keep supply up, nature is a fickle mistress.

I hear ya gun. Purple hues on the bomb is cool and would like some to be like that. It just unfortunate that time is against me. Away on wed coming, kid's birthdat next sun and it would be wed 17th for next time to chop. Unfortunately i am unable to check and remember which plants had budrot so will bite the bullet and chop all. This way it ensures that i dont lose any more to budrot. I think this way it better to be safe than sorry and get something for my efforts.

Here some bud porn from the balcony plants and the outdoor ones taken a few days ago. Not sure which are what. Tried uploading the other day but it would not work. Working fine now. I hear a heatwave due at the end of this week for a couple of weeks. Shame it wasnt a while ago otherwise the other plants may have avoided bud rot and PM. They cut down yesterday, more on that later on. Still got the 5 small plants at site #1, leaving them till next wednesday along with the 2 on the balcony. And also the lost coast hashplant.

Well yesterday was d-day for sites #2 + #3 - 6 x auto thc bomb and 4 x russian rocket fuel. Exactly 100 days from seed to harvest but they could have done with an extra couple of weeks to fatten up a bit. As from the pics you will see a pic of each site before chop, and pics of the rootballs which weren't that big which is surprising (unless there was more still in the ground). My friend let me down with getting a place to trim and dry so am now doing it myself and taking a bigger cut. The rrf's were washed in h2o2, then in baking soda and lemon juice with warm water and then cleaned with cold water. The buds are very airy and very small and really needed the extra time to fatten up. Be lucky if they total any more than 1.5oz once dry. Disappointing to say the least but it still something and better than losing a lot more to budrot and PM. The bombs will get done tonight. Pics to follow tomorrow. There a pic of a bud close up and post-wash.

A point to add - sunrise was approx 5.30am and was out at the sites by 6.10am. Sun was just starting to hit site #2 and site #3 was still out the sun. Have heard it best to chop just before sunrise/lights on so that the plant isnt doing its thing. Getting up after 4/5 hours isnt fun but hoping it worth it.

Finally got round to trimming the bombs yesterday. Upon further inspection i found a plant that had pretty much budrot throughout :-/ :yikes: Was heartbreaking to see that and not sure why. They had been covered for a good while but perhaps not enough till it was too late. I salvaged what i could but most of it went in the bin. No amount of bud washing would have got rid nor it safe to smoke. Some of the tips of the bud were ok so got cut off and added to the trim. Had another plant that had some rot through it but not too much. Got most of the plants trimmed but it got late last night so decided to call it a day and hung the remaining branches in the box untrimmed and will sort them out either tonight or in a few days time. Buds were more compact than the rrf's but very leafy, however, the leaves were covered in trich's (around 30-50% amber) so just trimmed off the ends. I did read on here that someone leaves the sugar leaves on as they are very potent as they covered in trich's. Makes sense to do the same to give the buds more appeal (they only for me and the mrs anyway). Pics to follow and still got some plants to chop that are still growing. In this case can the administrators leave this thread open till it fully completed.

some times covering it like that with plastic will actually encourage the fungi to form since proper ventilation can not be achieved. Turns it into an almost humidity dome like setting...

But i only covered the top to stop the rain falling on the buds. The sides weren't covered to allow airflow to go through each plot. I think next year i will change things again. Next year will be done mostly myself with my mate helping with the heavy stuff so will sort him out with some smoke. May grow individual plants in individual plots with each surrounded by meshing and cover the tops with plastic. May grow some super autos. Will wait and see what i will do for next year.

A year ago or so I had a case of mould in some larger colas indoors.

I would advise you store any plant that had some mould on it separately from the others, and make sure it's bone bloody dry. Those mould spores are a nightmare.

Would hate to see it ruin the rest of the harvest.

Very well done fella! Hope next year is even better for ya!

Not sure which had mould and which didnt. They been fully washed with h2o2, then baking soda and lemon, finally rinsed with cold water (not too cold). With that am hoping any mould spores have been killed and the rest dont get infected. They all drying in 2 cardboard boxes and am away for the next 3 days. They out on the balcony with air holes around the boxes but gonna need to cover with a towel just in case it rains. It will be bone dry before curing and checked every day each time the jars are opened.

Sorry about the mould Glasgrow, it's gutting when one harvests and opens up the cola to find BR lurking in the middle..aaarrrghhhh

Have you ever tried to grow some Dutch Passion strains like Hollands Hope and Frisian Dew....even PowerPlant...they do well in extreme conditions - my HH from last Octobers harvest was huge and I still have a 2 litre jar full and she has been cured to perfection and there was not a hint of mould or bugs on her.

Ignore the popular strains and go for the hardship/warrior strains. I have friends on Prince Edward Island who grow and harvest successfully outdoor....but only grow Danish and Dutch Genetics. Extreme cold/wet or extreme heat combined with high RH levels require top drawer bred strains.

Hope you have enough undamaged bud left for your needs. :Namaste:

When the summer is the way it's been this year, it's almost impossible to avoid budrot.
Dutch Passion have some nice auto genetics, but the Auto Frisian Dew I grew this season didn't have good mould resistance, their Think Different's did a lot better, probably due to their fluffy buds but I'd rather have fluffy buds than mouldy buds;)

The Danish strains are very hardy, but usually only available as regular. People here are having problems with mould in those as well in summers like this.
However the loacally bred autos are catching on, and in a few years we migth see some amazing genetics.
Check out: Hybrids from Hell, Cannaseeds.dk and zenseeds, there's also a lot of underground strains that can be sourced from local growers who will often just give them away or swap you a shitload of regs for a few fems.
Many of the master growers here are quite conservative and not fast to embrace new ideas, often because they're afraid of things getting too commercialised, which is both good and bad...

I think seedbanks claiming their seeds/plants are mould resistant are just that - claims. No plant is resistant to mould and it can happen to anyone and it happened to me. I did lose some last year as well but it had been very foggy, damp and cold so budrot was inevitable. It just one of those things and we can all do things to try and prevent it outside but sometimes it happens. At least i have some smoke for my efforts and will learn from my experience and hope to get better next year. Last year i had problems with slugs and deer and budrot at the end, and they were photos. Ended up with 2.2g! This year no problemw with slugsbor deer bud still had budrot. Ending up with ??? Still got some to chop and dry so dry weights will be posted towards the end of this month once they all done.

Just some pics of the balcony plants taken last week and the drying box. They been drying since last sunday and monday. Buds seemed fairly dry yesterday but still to do the "stem snap" test before curing. They should be ready for that and will check tonight once i get home from work. The balcony plants and the remaining outdoor plants i am leaving till next wed. This will allow them time to fatten up nicely with the hope of giving me some dense rather than airy buds.
