Hello,
First grow journal here but going to try it out.
Medical grower. Major upgrades to my room are currently in the works. Little back Ground. Grown outdoor 7 seasons. I started my indoor journey last year with a 5 by 5 tent, 600w hps. DWC set up with full fox farm nutes. Cal mag and hydro guard added. Obviously I found out that was not enough light for a 5 by 5. So i got a mars hydro ts1000. That significantly helped. However I wanted more/bigger/better harvest per year. So I got the new small tent for the side of my room as shown in pics. Help with my perpetual cycle. I have this tent vented with a 4 inch duct going into my 6 inch duct used for the flower tent. All exhausted outside through a dryer vent. Currently leave tent open for better air flow in summer. Also have new 70 pint dehumidifier and cool mist humidifier really helping my environment.

I have a fallponics RDWC set up in my garage that I will be putting into the big tent next round. Been running leak proof so I’m happy about that. Pic of system attached for reference. I also have a new LED bar light on order so the seedlings in the below pic are going to get a good ride. The vegging girls will get the ts1000 light in the small tent once this round is done. Just using 100w equivalent cfl for seedlings at the moment. They also are in my homemade aeroponics clone bucket currently, with 1 foot tap roots. Definitely my fastest growing seedlings with the clone bucket. Soon, they will go into a DWC tote set up in the veg tent with same size net pot as my rdwc system for easy transplanting to new system. Also upgraded to jacks tap nutrients. Seems easy enough but no real rest experience yet. Seedlings just got the first dose of it. The journal is more for the seedlings and what they come to be. Date above is date seeds cracked. So they are 2 weeks old basically. Pics below are to show set up. Last photo is from last round.
Feel free to ask questions.

Hello @jlh8787 welcome to 420magazine.
Fantastic grow you have going. :goodjob:
Glad you have a journal set up.
I'll try and keep up,should be a good one.
Happy growing.
Bill

Thanks Bill! I think it will be a good one too. New medic grow 1000watt bar light will be here Friday. This round coming down in next week or two. I will do my best to keep this updated. I think I will like this as I’m kind of dork with this stuff. Look forward to this round also as it will be my first rdwc. Lots of lessons to be learned.

I'm in coco so not going to be as much help as some others.
But I have learned a few things so I'll do my best.
I'm always trying to learn more. Great setup on this one.
Keep up the good work my friend.
Bill

Coco is still hydro. So can’t hurt. That always been your medium of choice though? Is it because it’s easily available where you are? I like hydroton because I can wash and boil em for reuse. Just boiled all my extras last night in preparation for next round actually.

what are the other benefits of coco? Always wondered. Read a lot, but curious your opinion.

I use it because its just great.
Total control over feeding and nutrition.
But I use Bokashi and frass & dazzel.
Both products make roots explode and helps with nutrition uptake.
Also helps break down old roots in mix as I reuse my coco.
I prefer air pots and coco perilite.
Its the closest I can get to dwc groth rates and still have a pot.
Between my 4 rooms I moved my girls a couple times during the grow cycle.
Thats not easily done in dwc.
Between the control and ability to move girls its awesome for me.
Takes the annoying instability of soil nutrition out of the equation.
But dwc is on my list of things to learn.
Once I have my new grow setup and running ill get a dwc room set up.
Got to keep learning.
Bill

I think I could move my girls during water changes pretty easily. Before the net is up, all I have to do is mix the buckets, pick up the lid with plant and air stones attached, and put into new nutrient bucket. Use a pump to change water once trellis is up.

I’m not much a fan of my fox farm nutes. Or my tap water is really hard. Not sure yet, but 4 rounds with fox farm and all have had some
Issues. But have read dwc always shows any issues right away. hoping jacks tap water nutrients will help. Seedlings seem to like the starter stuff. And it’s awesome that it’s only one or two step mixes. Fox farm seemed so complicated with all the different stuff comparatively speaking.

Have thought bout RO system, but read about all the waste water and that turned me off. Would need to use 150 gallons of tap water to get 50 gallons RO water from my understanding.

Definitely will look more into coco as a future investment.

Ro water is great. From what I understand it just dumps the impurities.
Unless your water is horrendous it shouldn't use that much.
Mine is 250_350 to start which is hard to work with but im moving so ill see what I end up with.
If its still bad I'm putting in an RO as well.

Update time.
The girls are doing great in jacks nutrients. They are only 18 days from sprout in the first pic. The flower tent in currently in complete darkness for 36 hours before chop down of my last round. First pic is what they will be in until I get the fallponics set up in the tent next week. I can easily transfer the net pot into the fallponics set up since they are the same size net pot. I bought a drip kit add on that I don’t think I’m going need right away as the roots are really developed already thanks to the cloner starting the seedlings.
I am getting the EZ-8 medic grow light in the mail soon for my flower tent.
Got a new microscope to see trichomes. So that is very cool as the pics show.

Thanks for reading.
ask me anything. :)

Hi everyone. Been pretty busy lately so haven’t got to update in two weeks. I finally got my room, light and tents all set up. First pic is day of transplant. I believe they went into the fallponics system on June 28. So they have been in there about a week. I added a drip system to help speed up root growth and as you can see by pics, they are looking pretty happy. Thinking my tap water is pretty rough even with jacks “tap” nutrients. But they seem to be growing well despite that.
My veg tent has the two little ones now In 3 inch pots. They are finally growing good again. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet.
I got a new grow light. Medic grow fold 8. It was not the one I ordered. I ordered the medic grow EZ 8. But was shipped the wrong one. So they discounted me some and I kept this weaker light. Looking at it, I’m kind of glad I went with this one as this light is already really bright and has a lot of good reviews. I’m excited to see for my self. I just flipped them into flower so they will wake up later tomorrow. More to come soon. Thanks for reading.

So just a quick update. The girls are really likely the jacks bloom mix. I’m going to see how they do on 12 days before changing the res. I’m on day 8 and they goin strong still and the ph and ppm are looking great. So just defoliated a little bit as well as used the SCROG to LST some more. They are just wrapping up week 1 of the flip and still only tiny preflowers showing. Look at the bulking taking place at the nodes. Hoping they get pretty big. We will see.

The veg tent girls are slow and steady. Have slightly high temps in there, but I think I can make it work as this is hottest part of year.

Thanks Bill! Hoping to see home pistols soon

congrats on your new EZ 8 from the contest. That was the light I ordered, but was sent the fold 8 by mistake. but thinking and hoping this fold 8 is plenty of light for me. Was on time crunch, so I kept it and have wondered. Let me know how you like it.

End of the month will come soon.
Then its time to set that beast up.
I will most certainly let you know.
I got a message from @MedicGrow this morning.
They want some specific tests done to help improve their next line of lights.
I can't begin to think how you would improve it.
But thats what I'm going to do.
Great to think we can help with the next Gen.
So freeken cool.
Happy growing my friend.

The girls really in full stretch mode now. Can only see for sure pre flowers on one of these, so that tells me they still want to stretch some more. Changing the reservoir water today. They seemed to like the bloom nutrients. I havent changed the water for almost 2 weeks now. Tomorrow would be 2 weeks even. I have not gone that long in between changes before. So it’s nice to be able to do that with the bigger system and the girls still look happy. Few minor spots on couple leaves, but it’s nothing compared to issues I’ve had in the past. Really happy with jacks nutrients so far hoping they produce some fat stinky buds too. Hard to believe this is just 45 days from seed cracking.

Little behind for my weekly, but here they are. Doing well for the most part. Critical mass does not seem as happy as my LSD strain, but all look better than my previous grows and the growth rate is pretty amazing. Gotta love the flower stretch. Thinking I really like the rdwc buckets. Might add two more to this system eventually. New Water chiller coming in the mail this week. That should really have me set up even with my mid 80 temps in the room/tents on hot summer days. Vegging girls are doing okay also. Got some rot when I didn’t notice one of my air lines was not connected for who knows how long. These active aqua pumps don’t hiss like my last air pump when they come loose. Doing good now though. Still not sure of their fate yet. But the other seedlings are the other grow journal I have. Chem dawg and green crack. Should be a good one also. Thanks for reading.

Hello,
We are officially at 4 weeks since 12/12 flip. They have tripled or quadrupled in size since the flip and I think they are finally about done with the stretch. Right now the closest top is about 20 inches from the light. Thinking they may be just starting to show some cal mag issues, but imma wait a little longer before adding too much since this is my first go with jacks nutrients. Thinking I may switch from jacks tap nutes, to the original jacks 3-2-1 nute system. See if that helps my issues next round. None the less, this grow is shaping up to be quite a good one and one of my best. I just added a chiller due to water temps constantly be at 80 or higher. Can really see them liking it the last few days it’s been in. So that root heat stress could also be what I thought was “cal mag” issues… About 4-5 more weeks to go.
Happy growing all ✌✌

Hi everyone.
the grow here is really shaping up to be a good one. I knew my new rdwc system and new light would make a difference. However, I did not expect this much of a flower stretch. They have been in the flower tent 6 weeks now and have increased in size 5 fold or more in that time.
I added a 3rd trellis net since the first two were completely buried in leaves. Basically used first two trellis for LST. Will definitely lollipop more next round, but I really did not expect them to get this big so I didn’t think I’d have that much larf. Looks like I was wrong. Hopefully this light will penetrate the canopy some and make some nice lower buds too. We shall see. Close up shots are the critical mass plant. Looking like it’s going to be a fatty. About 4 more weeks to go.

Happy growing all. ✌✌
