Grouchygreenz - First DWC Cabinet Grow - NL - LED

Any time snid, we often have. So after wifey's miracle dropping of the plant lower into the net cup, we put together a nice feeding of Jungle Juice base nutes, b52, little bit of silica and then some calmag, and our little lady came back strong with her color. New growth coming on strong.
The hydro shop didn't have any drip rings small enough for our setup so we built our own drip ring. Little bit of fabrication and we're good to gro.
PH 6.0
PPM around 400
Temps range from 72f to 85f depending on light and fan speed
We can't wait to start training

Awesome dwc journal! It is my first dwc grow and I am looking forward to seeing your progress ! I have a similar set up and so far I am happy with the Mars hydro 300w. Love the pics keep it up. Will be following!

Okay, sorry we have been so busy and neglecting the journal but here we go with an update. Not going to go into crazy detail like every res change we did but why not start with some pictures .

After topping, we did some pruning and some lst work. Starting with a 4 way

So she got really bushy and it sometimes got away from us a little bit. We gradually worked our way up to a nice nute mix of jj grow, micro and bloom. B52 and calmag to supplement as well as hydroguard.
Ppms have been upwards around 900. This is where we ran into a tiny bit of trouble. We thought it was rust. We thought it was cal def. We figured out it was probably a calcium def but only because we realized our ph meter needed calibrating. Leaf pics

Pretty sure the ph was off cutting off the supply of calcium and or magnesium so we recalibrated and flushed for a day.

And thats the most recent. Ppms 1000, ph 6.2ish and ready to continue from here. We topped our 4 mains and now have 8, a couple are still below the net but they will get theyre day in the sun too. Thats all for now, we will be back!

And the bushing continues...

We did a light defoliation this morning, trying to target some undergrowth. Hoping to flip withing the next week or two.

Anyone have any idea what was up with that spotting? We think it was ph causing a calmag def, it seems to have gotten better. Thanks all!

Looks like ph fluctuations to me. The spotting, along with the fanleaf in the pic pulling to one side makes me think thats what it is. Growing with leds and RO water has upped my use of Ca/Mg considerably.
I love those early root shots. That is one of my favorite things about growing in dwc... Seeing the plants growth on both ends. Beautiful green up top and beautiful white on the bottom.
Nice set up and great job so far. My suggestion would be to move your air pump outside of the grow area so instead of pumping warm cabinet air into the rez you are introducing cooler O2. Makes a difference in keeping your water temps a bit lower.
