Headroom Incident By Gwhunran 2022

Headroom Incident
Day 47 since flip.

Reservoir change day.
Added 100% of recommended amounts of GH three part liquid nutes for 18gal in Late Bloom. PHed to 5.5-6.0. Added 35ml KoolBloom and 60ml CalMag+

CO2 bucket is still bubbling going on 9 days now. Should need changing anytime now.

The buds are building at an increasing rate as expected from day 40-47 and I expect them to continue to do so between day 47-54 of flower. If the breeder is correct they should finish at about day 72 since flip or day 65 since showing pistils. We'll see.

Light- bumped the setting up a notch but I cannot see how much because it's at it's max height and I can't see the knob.
Measured 60k lux at canopy.

Headroom Incident
Day 49 since flip.

Morning check, everything normal. Added a little PH up.

Fresh CO2 bucket this morning.

Flowers are still building nicely.
Nights are starting to cool down so I will get an idea how cool the room will go without turning on the heater.
Last night the low got to 53F and grow rooms were still at low 70sF before lights on.
At some point it will get cool enough that the CO2 buckets will probably stop or slow down.

Headroom Incident
Day 51 since flip.

Morning check, everything running normally. Most of the time the grow is on autopilot, I check them twice a day for PH and adjust if necessary and top up the reservoirs once a day. The reservoirs are changed once a week unless the plants are small and in veg.

After this grow is harvested, I am planning on replacing the corner fittings of my scrog frame with 4 way fittings and convert the frame so that I will have the option of a 2nd screen above the first one to better handle tall plants. I will leave the frame up and just add the screen if necessary. I should only have to buy the four fittings, a few lengths of pvc, and another piece of fence.

I've got at least three weeks to go, maybe more until they are ready to harvest. Since I'm not growing again until after winter, I can leave these as long as I want. No younguns waiting to get into the tray.

Thanks Bill, they are still building but I don't think very many of the stalks will have buds growing together for their entire length. The Panama might though. I've already started planning my improved screen frame to allow a 2nd screen if needed for tall limb support. Both rooms.

Headroom Incident
Day 54 since flip.

Reservoir change day. Used 100% of recommended amounts of General Hydroponics three part liquid nutes for 18gallons in Late Bloom. PHed to 5.5-6.0, added 35ml KoolBloom and 60ml of CalMag+.

Light: 500w out of 600w, measured 10" above canopy equals 64K LUX.

CO2 bucket still bubbling but slowly, may be cooler temps.

I am starting to track outdoor temps and comparing them to inside grow area lows before lights on. Here's what I'm seeing so far. Last three mornings before lights on.

Outside Inside
57F (14C) 72F (22C)
53F (12C) 70F (21C)
48F (9C) 66F (19C)

Everything in the grow area is operating normally.

HI Day 54 flower (2).JPG

Headroom Incident, Day 54 flower. Note the measuring devices loaded up with reservoir change ingredients. From left to right. KoolBloom, GH Bloom, GH Micro, Epsom salt in jar of water, PH down, and CalMag+. No "GH Grow" nutes are used in Late Bloom.

Headroom Incident
Day 6 since flip

Morning check, everything normal

Light not changed but measurements were taken at canopy level. 450w out of 600w, 30" from screen, measured 45k lux at canopy.

Not seeing any definite pistils but the tops are showing that something is changing.

Headroom Incident
Day 30 since flip.

Morning check, everything normal.

CO2 bucket is a week old and still slowly bubbling.

I think they have stopped stretching and are now concentrating on flowering. My individual bud pic was out of focus so I'll have to try again later.

I can't get to the back side of the grow. I have about 4' of room in front of the tray to work. Sometimes it's like getting a car out of the front of the driveway when half a dozen are parked behind it.

Headroom Incident
Day 55 since flip.

Morning check everything normal.

I had a real head scratcher going yesterday. I found small amounts of water around my reservoir while doing my afternoon check.
I checked my inflow/return and overflow in the tray for blockage. Everything fine.
I dried everything up and stewed on it for several hours before realizing yesterday was res. change day and I use tap water. It was rather cold yesterday, so it was condensation running off my tote reservoir onto the floor. The other room's res. was changed too and same occurrence.

Headroom Incident
Day 57 since flip.

Morning check, everything running normally.

Pretty strong winds and rain last night, remnants of tropical storm. Lost power for awhile, but it was on by lights on.

Buds are looking good and sticky. The smell is growing but it's not overpowering.
I've concluded the plant in the front is a different pheno by looking at bud structure. The two on the sides seem to be the same when comparing bud structure. Who knows what the one in the back is looking like.

No issues with the garden is good news. :thumb:
Ladies are lovely this morning.
I'm glad your power came back on.
Take care.

Thanks Bill.
I have to admit while the wind was howling and the big tress were swaying and dropping limbs. I was mainly concerned with losing power and it's effect on my grow. The Headroom Incident should finish this month and I'm hoping the Panama finishes next month.
My potted pepper plants didn't fare so well. Wind blew one pot off the table onto the deck. Quite a mess around the yard. I'll clean it up sometime this week.
:thumb:

I have ordered my four way pvc fittings to change my scrog screen frame to support a 2nd screen if necessary for next years grow. The frame in the HI room is 1/2", the frame in the Panama room is 3/4". The only reason why they are different is, I couldn't remember what size pvc the 1st scrog frame was when I was shopping for pvc supplies for the other room's screen.
