Jamaica Seeds Blackout Kush #2

Praise god, the sweet nectar of disease free blackout/og13!

13 weeks and 3 days old, 10 weeks and 3 days in bloom. the top is going longer. I supercropped her over to get her in the light :thumb:

I actually harvested according to trichs. Lowers had some ambers (probably cause the light was closer to them) and tops are more cloudy to clear. I like to pull just when its changing to amber if possible. To be honest, the mids/lowers could have come down a couple days ago, but now is the window! :thumb:

Crazy how the same seed stock takes different times to mature. Its the taller ones that always take longer.

Nice and frosty. Now to dry and cure it :) Don't remember if I posted this before but this is what I use:

Drying and Curing Schedule, courtesy MSquared

by
SurfBuddy

This is the schedule I'll be using for curing courtesy of Msquared. The only difference is that I have these 62% humidipaks that I will throw in after they get close to 65% or so in the jar for 6-8 hours.:

open air from 48 to 60hrs - depends on temp/humidity
1. seal’em up for 12hrs
2. open air from 24 to 36hrs - depends on temp/humidity
3. seal’em up for 6hrs - with this one I then put a hydrometer in there with them so I can get a good reading - I take notes at the beginning and then again at the end.
4. open air from 12 to 24hrs depending on last reading from hydrometer
5. seal’em up from 3 to 6hrs to watch humidity if good then leave in jars and burp until humidity becomes stable and then jar them for the rest of their lives which never amounts to much time as they are soooo gooood! LOL

I then like to ultimately let them cure for at least a couple weeks checking on humidity and burping as necessary to keep a stable humidity so below is what I use as my humidity guidelines:

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.
65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.
60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing
55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period (3 months or more) without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

Below 55% RH - the RH is too low for the curing process to take place. The product starts to feel brittle. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet.

Nice curing recipe, I have those 62% humidity pack also, I use them with the CVaults I got, Supposedly they cure MMJ perfectly. I'm gonna test them out real soon. :)
Nice nuggets b.real. :thumb:

Cool. First I have heard of CVaults. I don't sue the humidity packs. I place a small hygrometer in the jar to get an idea of humidity.

Here we go, got the whole plant down.

The dried and cured product from the first plant, heavily handled due to infection. Washed twice in a hydrogen peroxide mix, and dipped in distilled water after. These are the buds without any rot on them at all. The others don't look as nice lol.

Getting a nice light citrusy sweet smell/taste.

Ill get weight once dry. I could probably use less soil 12/12 from seed, what do you guys say? Other plant had similar root mass, I was just too pissed to take photos lol. I need to keep the lights further from the buds cause I think that's making the stalks sweat a lot.

Thanks Harley001 and closetorganic. I feel like if I use less soil the plants would grow better because I can cycle nutrients though them better. I may try hempy, if I can find a cheap enough medium.

I'm running air pots and watering every 3 days until the water runs out the bottom. Last grow was every five days. Now I can feed every three days and the plants are lovin it

Exactly my thoughts. The soil should dry out quicker if the roots are more crowded, which should allow me to feed more often and get rid of these damn dying leaves!

I used 64 oz of soil for this grow, so I'll try 56 oz next time, maybe even 48 oz.

And oh yea congrats...

thanks you guys. I got some Epsom salts and some pictures of the serious 6 coming up in the other journal, come check it out? :)

ok, the taller pheno went 13 weeks and 4 days total, or 10 weeks and 4 days in bloom.

The suggested flower time is 8 weeks on this strain, but it needed longer.

Most of the trichs are cloudy and the high is killer. Theres a nice sweet smell and flavor when you break up the buds.

I pulled the plant just before all pistils were oranged out. They are curing and smelling good. Im gonna get a dry weight tomorrow. So far iv'e smoked ~ 3 grams lol
