Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

Due to a request from two of my friends who have bad insomnia, I’m letting this one go to 10-15% amber.
10% amber used to be the standard for harvesting, so if you don't need to free up the space you might want to let some of the buds get closer to 30-40% amber for folks with insomnia.

Another member here grows for himself and friends with serious insomnia and used to let his go really long and then drought stress them. You can also dry them in the sun and heat after harvest to get more THC to convert to CBN.

Thanks Shed, very interesting as usual. We’ll see. To me, 15% is way high. I usually go for coke weed.

Banana Sherbet Feedback

Today I got my first reports from a couple of my friends who have my Banana Sherbet. Both of them happen to be musicians, one is my drummer and the other a bass player who trained under Jack Casady. He dusts me on the bass, lol. Anyway, the bass players comment was this:

“It should be called Banana Pudding because it melted me. Way too strong to play on for me, but awesome weed.”

The drummers comment (relevant side note - the drummer is also a home grower, and smokes/has tolerance on our level) was this:

“I’m in love with the Banana Sherbet! It’s sweet and fruity and gassy and super strong. Awesome work weed.”

Well, I’ll take it. That’s quality feedback. Lmao. I can’t tell anything anymore. The strongest weed I can grow I can still handle. I smell nothing then hear how much my weed stinks. Ah, the price we pay to grow good weed, lol! I know I’m not alone in this. Where’s the 40% genetics???

That's awesome I didnt know you were a musician. I played rhythm guitar in a blues band when I was in my early 20s. The lead singer got married and quit the band and we broke up within 6 months and couldn't find a decent singer but I still play from time to time. I have a buddy that plays bass and his band just got signed a few months ago he likes to joke that it took him until age 40 before he broke out in the music scene

Wow, I’m starting to think we could form a decent band just using people I’ve met on 420! Shed plays drums, I think, so me and him can hold down the beat, you’re on rhythm, heck we’re halfway home!

@Costanza, when I get back to the area I may take you up on that. Didn’t know you were so close.

Day 82

Here’s about 2/3 of her. I can’t get far enough back in the garage to fit the whole plant in a frame. Jeez. Note the upper fans in the middle especially that got trashed in a minor Mg deficiency that has been arrested. Lost several upper fans but it’s okay now. I was a bit slow to react due to the res confusion I had. Wasn’t quite sure what to do, but @Rexer had my back. Thanks Rex!! This plant is a Mg hog in flower. If you grow it be prepared - both times I found it to be true.

Edit: the site is not letting me post photos at the moment. Will post when it’s back.

Thanks in no small part to you @Rexer auto Sensei. So I’m learning something new about the hydro every day. Can you grade me on these impressions (confirm their accuracy or correct, please…)?

1. As I watch the TDS numbers I realize I am watching them feed in real time. And at this point I am beginning to be able to tell the rate with which they’re feeding. For example, a couple weeks ago they were just chomping everything in sight. The TDS number would go down each day by like 30-50 points. That seems like a crazy lot to me. Now they’ve slowed and are eating around a 10-15 point difference a day. Last night was 180. Now is 166. So is that one way you gauge what to feed?

2. I compromised the roots with my setup. The largest mass of them is concentrated in the pot under the lower coco. This only allows them to come out into the res out of the holes I drilled. And they are, in droves. But I know that air stone is covered with roots. And I suspect the plant would be happier if it were just the res by itself, yes?

Thanks Rexer!

A Tour of the White Widow

Just an immense and lovely auto. Original Harvest genetics. Super happy with my first try of them. This plant is so sticky I’m using scissors to defoliate, which I rarely do. I almost always just pinch leaves off with my fingers. But when I do that with this one I can’t play my bass for the rest of the day. Every leaf that’s not a huge fan is covered in trichomes and the whole plant is whiter looking than the photos show. Just an awesome strain, obviously worthy of its’ legendary status. Believe it or not I have never even smoked White Widow before! I’m SO psyched.

Here’s some decent porn.
