Jungle Joseph Experiments With Clones

So I've got these 4 clones from my outdoor girl and they just won't grow roots. They're still healthy and growing, but it's bugging me because I normally have better luck. I've read that some plants don't clone well. I guess I found one. I've got too many anyway. If they don't root soon they'll be worm food in the compost pile.

Roots!
They must have heard me talking about the compost pile
Only one has grown roots so far, because of that the others have been given an ultimatum, grow roots or compost.
I put the clone in soil and watered it in.
Here's pics of the mother, her clone and the rest of the clones.
Eagle eyed viewers will have noticed 2 clones missing. I gave my son one of the 6c clones and a monstercropped short Stack clone.

Ok I see why your name is jungle Joseph lol holy plants my friend. Nice job. Nice mix. So with all the clones have you ever tried to graft two while trying to clone? Sorry for the odd question but with so many clones and they're mothers I figured you may have tried a few things as you have/can make replacements.

Lol, she's a jungle alright:rofl:
Good question, I haven't tried grafting before. I didn't expect so many clones to survive, that's why I have so many. I already gave 2 away. I might give it a go sometime :thumb:

The girls getting some sun. Looking okay, apart from the one at front left. Not sure what's going on with her. She's in the same soil as the others. I had some snails come for a free feed after all the rain, so I sprinkled some diatomaceous earth and coffee grounds around them. A little bit of damage but nothing they won't bounce back from. I'm feeding the girls in coco with EC 1.4, pH 5.8, they're only in small pots so they're probably getting root bound by now. I'll repot them as soon as I get more coco.

I got some different substrate this time, they didn't have any Coco perlite so I got 'terrazilla' instead. I can still use it like coco, so we'll see how it goes. I repotted the 3 clones and watered them in. I was in a rush so I didn't get any pics of the roots. Suffice to say they're nothing special. Just roots.
I gave them a good soak with EC 1.0 at pH 5.8

The girls are going well. Some of them are flowering. I'm wondering if I left them outside, whether they will keep flowering or revert to veg. We're in spring now, so the days are getting longer. I've been thinking about using the tent as a dark room, so I would put them in the tent for 12 hours a day with the light off. That way they can use sunlight to flower instead of my puny little light. Much better spectrum and plenty of breeze etc. I'll have to wait for the girls in the tent to finish before I can do that.

Not sure about the terrazilla yet, I'll reserve judgement for a while on that, till I know for sure how the plants like it.

It seems once again I've got a misleading title, it started as a sea of green, now it's outdoors.

Anyway here's some pics.

Hi all, I haven't updated for a while.
I've totally gone off the rails from the sea of green I had grand visions of.
Now I'm looking at flowering a few in the tent and leaving some outside. I change my mind quite often, so bear with me, it may happen again before we're done.
Anyway, the plan now is to use the tent as a dark room for flowering. The others can carry on outside. They'll get bigger pots sooner or later.
I repotted the clone of the soil plant, (SC) into a homemade mix of the original living soil, some terrazilla soil and around 25% worm castings, and a pea straw mulch. I just used a fabric shopping bag for the container, they seem to work well and they don't rot. What more could you want for a dollar?

I just went back and read the start of my journal  it makes no sense at all. Must've been smoking:bong:
I have to get better at this lol. Feel sorry for you lot trying to follow along.
The reusable fabric bag is smart.....I've been looking at fabric pots and I wasn't sure about them...but I have a ton of reusables so I will be trying that out next time. And I feel the same about my grow journal lol and I do smoke Everytime I post... It's all good we're picking up what your saying...we all speak highinese :p

Hey there,
The girls are doing well.
They're drinking water most days, I use the weight of the pot to determine when to give more. I've let them get dry and then watered slowly to rehydrate them, I feel mean letting them dry out but I know they need it sometimes. It's tough love haha.
I've given them a couple of feeds of bat guano, 30ml per gallon.
I gave them a foliar spray yesterday with flavor savior, it's a kelp, vermicast, fish emulsion. I didn't soak them, just a little mist. They love it.

It's been a while since I updated. Nothing much to report. The girls are going well. The three in the terrazilla soil are looking a bit hungry so I'll start feeding them more nutrients. I won't be getting that soil again. The girls in the LOS soil are looking much better and I've only given some of them a topdress of worm castings and some bat guano. Even the ones that haven't had any extras are looking better than the terrazilla soil.
