MGD420 First Grow: Autos

I gave the plants a little prune and a feed but while putting the plants back in the tent and fixing the hygrometer and sensor at the top of the tent for the ac infinity fan a couple of small dehumidifier packs that were sitting high up fell and snapped 2 or 3 of the branches on the biggest plant . I've propped the branches up and hopefully they will heal them selves.

A couple of new pics of how the biggest plant is coming along. Pics were taken before the branches got snapped.

Bummer about the branches. You did the right thing so hopefully they just scar over and keep going. Looking nice and frosty! How's the smell?

Such a bummer.... Hope the branches weren't holding the big buds.

Yea, I was gutted when I seen the branches snapped as it could have been prevented if I was only paying more attention and removed the dehumidifier pots before messing about. I've counted at least 3 snapped branches, put some tape around them to support them a bit more and will check them at the end of the week and see if they're healing. Yea they're getting nice and frosty now. The other 2 plants aren't as far on as the other one.
They smell nice, the smell when the tent is opened isn't too strong yet, can't quite put my finger on the smell of the other 2 but plant 3 has a nice noticeable fruity smell to it.

So decided to have a smell of the plants today where they're flowering and noticed at least one of the plants has a musty damp smell to it, if I could describe the smell it would be like dirty damp clothing or a damp towel thats been lying in the wash basket for a day or two.

I checked the coco under the plant and didn't really notice the smell and also checked around the bottom of the reservoir on the hempys and couldn't notice the smell either.

Wondering if this is normal with hwmpys and during flower or could this be mold, mildew etc possibly due to the humidity being high at times. Today before I left the humidity was sitting at around 39/40% Temps were around 26/28.

Have a good look at the flowers. Sometimes flowering plants give off some funky smells. Lol.

I did look at them mate, they seem to look fine at least to the naked eye anyway, they've not formed into proper bud yet. At first I thought the smell was maybe my feet  I wear an old pair of trainers when I'm dossing around the house as slippers they kind of smell a bit funky like old socks lol but yep the smell was definitely coming from the plants
I'll have a proper look at them later with the microscope once I get home from work.

I've managed to keep the humidity around 35/45% the majority of the time with the dehumidifier but the temps have risen more since I've put the second light in and can go anywhere between 20c and 30c. Obviously when I'm at work I can't check the temps or humidity but I need to have the dehumidifier going almost all the time now otherwise it creeps up to between low to mid 50's

Normal... The smell of the bud will be a sweet smell soon enough.

How many weeks does everyone reckon before the biggest girl will be ready ? The other 2 aren't quite as far along as the big girl.
She still smells like an old sweaty sock / damp, musty tea flannel, this is making me think she's possibly the blueberry cheese but this is just me speculating based on smell alone.
The buds and stems/branches when touched have a nice strong skunky, fruity diesel type smell, quite hard to pin point and describe the smell exactly though.
Temp can be anywhere between 19C and 30+ Celsius
Humidity percentage can be anywhere between 30 and mid to high 50's.
Temp and humidity has been the hardest part of this grow so far.

Some pics of the big girl and the other girls in the 4x4.

Hopefully 3ish weeks by the looks of things. Looking good, killing your first grow!

I forgot, did you get a jewellers loupe yet?
Yea, I have a digital microscope, says its 2000x it was just a cheapo thing off amazon "Oxbird" but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to use without it being on a stand as its hard to focus when it's unsteady. My mobile phone takes quite good photos up close too but I might make a stand to sit the microscope on out of things I have around the house for checking the trichomes that way I can keep the microscope steady.

I saw the Mars hydro tent :Rasta:
Yea I started the grow in the mars hydro 2x4 and then I went with the mars hydro 4x4 tent for more space plus the plants are under 2 mars hydro SP3000 lights.

Struggling to keep temps below 30C
Would you suggest dimming the lights or using 1 sp3000. Would 1 be sufficient for the 3 plants in the 4x4

Thanks
