Just starting to come around sisco. I hope to get more time here now that I've made my decision about future grows. Lots of catching up to do.

Late report and low on pics, but here it is.

62g bud and 18.5g popcorn.

The buds are a bit on the airy side and got a heavy trim due to the PM, but they smoke great. At least as far as potency is concerned. I'd rate them a 7 of 10 for potency.
An overall effect, solid stone good for a couple of hours.

The taste/smell is lacking, not very strong in either category. Taste is hard to describe but it's not entirely pleasant. I won't grow this strain again, there are too many others that have the potency along with enjoyable flavors and aromas. I suspect this crop is going into the butter pot.

It's possible that flavor was affected by my attempts to deal with the deficiency that showed up. The deficiency could probably have been avoided if I fed for the center of the scrog rather than the edges, but I suspect the edges would have had prominent nute burn. I had to chose and may have gone with the wrong approach. This led needs a wider footprint if scrog is the grow style.

Sorry the pics suck. the results weren't terribly inspiring. A more experienced grower would likely have been able to deal with the uneven lighting and still produce a decent crop. The bud pics show the difference between the center and edges of the screen. Center buds were eating their sugar leaves.

Crazy how the LED affected the center, it goes to show how strong that light can be.

So, the Rock Lock is out... I'm still kind of curiouse about the taste though, maybe you can put a couple colas to cure for a month or two more, just for the hell of it.. op2

Yeah it's nice to have enough smoke on hand to try edibles. I wouldn't use weed I paid for to make butter but it's a great way to use up any "extras" that might be laying around.

This led might work fine for a couple of freestanding plants, which is it's primary purpose. But for a scrog it takes a fine tuning on nute application imo.

The Rocklock has a very faint minty smell in the jar. I won't need any more butter for a while yet, so we'll see if a cure improves it to the point of being bowl-worthy. It's gonna be a long stretch between crops for me so I may just keep it jarred until I know where I stand.

Welcome back Mmmmick! I'm confused as usual, did you just grow rock lock? What happened to the SS x GC?

Do you think a mover would work for you? Spread that light to the edges. It's way cheaper than a 2nd light and only uses something like 35w.

PM is so tough, because you'll never get totally rid of it imo. Those spores are everywhere. Is your grow room served by any outside ventilation like central heat/air? It can get in that way as well. I can definitely relate because I"m constantly fighting in too.

Hate to tell you but a scrog might be your absolute worst grow option, seems they're the most susceptible.

I know I don't need to tell you any of this, compared to me you're like a master guru grower and you are the Sultan of Scrog

Hi OMM. Maybe a little dissapointment. More in the taste of the Rocklock than anything else. Well, that and the spraying for PM, which seems to shut my plants down. I think it's the milk treatment that causes the leaves to go glassy and inhibits proper function. A little over 2 z's is ok for yield with a small light and I suspect a further trial would improve on that if I fed heavier but I would run a different strain. So I'm ok with that aspect of the grow.
The dispersion angle was known going in so I probably should have started feeding stronger nutes but the Rocklock was fussy during veg and I didn't think the strain wanted heavy feeding. No big deal, the trial is complete, the results are as shown and it is what it is. A couple of z's of extra smoke or edibles is always welcome. I'll need it during my layoff. Won't be any plants growing until the fall, if then.

Thanks Blue. Yeah, just the 2 Rocklocks this round. This grow has had three (at least) sets of plants all told, lol. I guess I could have changed the title to reflect the new strain.

Rather than a mover I'll just use this light for a regular grow now and then, so the tighter light pattern can be utilized as intended. I think it might work great on some of the small auto strains. I do appreciate the suggestion.

I have hot air heat but its never used because I burn wood in a separate stove. The vents are taped off in the grow room just in case. I think anti fungal paint will help, and plastic lining the room should give the spores nowhere to live as they need an organic surface to latch onto, so I should be able to minimze the incidence of spores. I keep positive pressure in the room so there shouldn't be a lot of incoming unfiltered air. The spores are present pretty much everywhere so I'll just eliminate as many possible sources as I can and see where that takes me.

I agree that scrog is likely to be most easily infected but with proper airflow it should be doable. I'll try a natural grow later this year maybe and see if that goes well before trying scrog again. this screen wasn't really impacted with an infection but it was sprayed the same as the other side of my cabinet and that seemed to shut down bud development on these plants same as the others.

lol, I've got a long way to go before reaching guru status I think, but it's fun to learn. You should be proud of the results you've achieved, Oh Sultan of Sog, heheh. Some nice plants coming out of your grow.

Another 10 days or so to finish my 2 Auto Hindu Kushes and I become a non grower for the forseeable future, so I'm counting on you and a few other friends here to satisfy my need for bud porn.

yeah, I had to keep them separate since they were supposed to be demos.
Pretty rough demo grows, but I made it clear at the beginning that I was a newb and had lots to learn. Kinda sorry my learning was at the expense of the folks who asked for the demos since both had restarts and other issues that affected timing and results.

Here's hoping the next scrog avoids the fuzz.
