Nivek's Need to Know Nature - First Grow Journal - 2015

cheers ranger,, very kind indeed, and you are most welcome,, the whole west coast of north america is beautiful after beautiful after beautiful,, and then after all thet beauty,, comes more beautiful,, never runs out,, well, maybe l.a., never been,, vancouver island was for sure a fabulous place to have been brought up a boy,, the 'wet' coast of canada,, ha, and it is wet, oh ya,, cheers again ranger,, an update for ya,,

this is the latest from afghandi,, i am sure smokin the hopium that these pods are female because i have already bet the farm

P1140779.JPG

i have never seen a male plant, cept for 'hermie,, the jerk plant',, so i don't know what a male starts out looking like,, but i have seen what a female looks like when it starts out,, and this is it,, minus the pistols,, which are still a bit shy,, soon i hope,, might have to move from the farm

i won't even mention about the easiest clone experiment ever,, i am trying to ignore them

P1140776.JPG

the little white widow sprout,, yep, still a sprout,, has a renewed sense of hope,, still working on one leaf at a time looks like, but progressing, which i guess is ,,, progress

P1140775.JPG

poor thing is incredibly off balance with that huge ear stickin out there,,

this things a character, i can see that

and a bit of perv material to leave with,, i have been inspired by the beautiful photography of drziggy,, a 420 member,, i have only scratched the surface of his journal and can't wait to revisit it,, bud porn, of the finest kind,, beautifully and very creatively displayed and photographed,, and not just by drzig either,, many others as well (least i think)

so like i said, i was inspired,, this just b quality, maybe c but i wanted to show the underside of the buds i have,, they sparkle like diamonds,, under the right light

P1140769.JPG

no mites or hermie flowers,, groovy

and this is about the biggest bud of the bunch,, though another is giving a good push,

P1140773.JPG

and put about 25 or so of those together in a family photo and it looks like this

P1140772.JPG

nice lookin family, yep

Ahh nivek, you take my breath away. You captured beautifully what I tried to get with Buddha. Her leaves just dazzled in the light, but I couldn't find the right angle to capture it. Maybe I should invest in a decent camera someday.

Dale actually is one credit shy of a degree of fine arts in photography. His last class the instructor began the session by expounding that he wouldn't teach them everything he knew because then one of them might become better than he was. Dale got up, gathered his equipment, walked out and cancelled the semester. Walked away without a second thought and never really did much else with it. A shame, too, because we have some of his early stuff framed and hanging in the house and he had a good eye for microphotography.

You just keep those lovely photos of your girls coming. You have a distinctive style. I got all excited to see how the family is maturing and ripening. You certainly outdid yourself this time, eh?

Buckeye's Eyecandy thread is my favorite stop at day's end. DrZiggy does have a way with those bud shots.

Clones will take about 2 weeks in plain water .. about a week when you drop an airstone in there. I've also found that about 2ml Aptus Startbooster on 18l of water will create more abundant root growth. This is not intended for cloning, but it does stimulate root growth .. so I added 1 and 1, and yay logic :)

I'm glad I screen saved the stratigraphic trees before they got caught. Should have warned you nivek. Sorry. Have you visited the Virtual couch yet? You can post most anything on non topic threads. The couch is a friendly spot. You'd like it there.

heya friends,, wednesday night update time,, cheers to y'all

ranger,, yes, though i bet you forgot by now what you asked,,,, ha,, foliar feeding,, i ususally dont take a pic when the plants are wet,, too contrasty and reflective,, but, i did this time,, those poor clones,, i still have em but they are in their last stages of life, or at least i am about to remove all effort, which was none anyway, to keep them going. this strain is an unknown strain and i did this clone run as a ridiculous low effort attempt, just cuz, guess i have no more, or, had no more younguns, and had post pardem, or whatever.

now i got white widow youngun,, so,, i feel better now

pj,, i like the stone idea,, gonna get me one,, a spray cloner, i think, is still the best, but, air stone is second,, and i am going to attempt to clone my lemon haze, it is a week into flower, one more week, then clones,, cheers pal,, ya know,, i have yet to buy any rooting stuff,, just honey so far, and it has worked till now,, we will see with the lemon clones, how it works still,, cheers pj

sue,, i am going to post some more of my art on my post,, i got it figured out now,, richard richardson gave me big kuddos for gettin er done,, this site is so huge,, i have barely even scratched the surface of what is available here, and how to do stuff,, haha :Namaste:

i think i might have perused that site once,, and i am sure i will again,, i have not read so much in years,, or typed either,, my typing has improved significantly this year. wish that was a new years resolution for me,, it would be a rare one that works out,, ha

i enjoy the writing,, and not just for fun either,, i am thinking that some writing might be the next creative venture for me,, least story writing,, i have written quite a few songs before, and even some magazine stuff, an attempt once,, long ago,, . i am using this journal as an attempt to maybe see if i have a style. i like to go into things with a style already developed,, seems. the stuff i write here is pretty hastily thought up and written but it is interesting to me to see what comes out. the writing process is one hundred percent comparable to any other creative process,, all the exact same steps involved,, and as in any other creative process,, the most important step is the first one,,

start

and with no firm commitment to anything,, who knows where it will go

just gotta start

so this journal is my start

and speaking of my white widow sprout,, the freak,,,,,,,,,in squirrel,, i think i agree with the squirrel theory,

this thing is just gettin freakier and freakier,,

P1140783.JPG

i am not even sure if its marijuana anymore,, genetic mutation of some kind,, hope it's awesome,, maybe some brand new super pot or something,, me gonna be rich,, ya,,,, or not,, i just hope it lives :thumb:

i had a super brainstorm idea the other day,, or night,, night i think,, i think i dreamed it,, most of my most difficult solutions come in my sleep,, not exactly sure i dream them but i wake up with em,, so,, go figure???

my lower level flower room is a tiny bit difficult to get down and dirty with,, i just don't bend, for as long, and as well, as i used to,, and yoga is just not my bag,, and i was thinking about how much space my upper flower level still has above the light, unused space,,,, and how i have hardly had to raise the upper light panel at all so far more than half way through flowering,, so,,

the brainstorm,, i have room to raise the lower plants,, screen, and light panel,,enough to make all of life , and my back, comfortable as heck. :cheer:

P1140784.JPG

my back thanks me,,, that was an idea worth writing home about,, which, i guess what this is

and last but not at all least a bit to serve the perv curve,,

This is a not well known method of getting things done. If you go to sleep with a well defined issue on your mind, your subconscious will look for an answer while you rest. I had the same thing happening to me often enough to google it, I cant reproduce the link now, but there should be info on it somewhere out there .. and it works, which is kinda cool :)

About two years ago I did my first ever venture into posting. I joined a forum in support of Callanetics, my favorite fitness routine that has given me back my youthful vigor and a strong, beautifully aligned body. That was where I developed my posting chops. What I discovered is that the best posts are authentic. As you continue on, the style refines itself and you become more comfortable. Those trained in the creative arts already have a head start on the art of using the right side of the brain, the ability to let go and let instinct take over. Artists have already figured out how to put themselves out there and allow themselves to feel and express. It's what we do to create our art.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your authentic voice find it's freedom in writing nivek. You have such a delightful charm and interesting spark. Surely you've noticed how the room lights up when you arrive. You are filling our lives with beauty and wonder nivek. So glad we met.

hello friends,, this update for you paka,,

just a tiny morning update on the white widow youngun,, youngun, yep,, not sprout,, nope,, sprout is no longer a term i can use to describe the little one,, because,, you see,, the stalk has split,, the real deal stalk is helping hold up this off center monstrosity,,

P1140802.JPG

there are things protruding from everywhere on this monster,, it will be interesting to see where this grows and goes,, ha

paka,, i don't do anything different for this little one,, cept maybe laugh at it more,, and i do mock it a bit,, guess i should stop that,, plant has it bad enough already i guess,, shame on me

This has to be one of the most interesting plants I have come across yet. Shes like...the Toxic Avenger or the Charger from "left 4 dead 2".

New growth looks encouraging, looks like you'll be able to eventually take a clone and start over if need be.

yes,, i could clone,, thanks alien,, never really thought of that, starting over i mean,, i think i might play this one out,, going to be a 'super' breed,, alien pot,, haha, hey alien?? haha. magic pot maybe, i dunno,, time, i need more. i bet there is a giant at the end of that vine tho,, a giant what i am not so sure of,,

it is fun to watch it grow ,, it goes in such spurts,, never seen a mj plant that i can see so much difference each day to the next,,, tomorrow,, who knows??? to the moon alice,,,,,,

pj,, i solve all of my work related issues in my sleep, near every one,, the tough ones,, and i think you are on to something when you mentioned about the last thing one is thinking about as they drift off,, the key i think,, i don't ever remember the dream or incident that helped me solve the problem, just wake up with the idea,, and it usually sticks,, i am good with that,, :Namaste:

dch,, thanks pal,, i have a couple of shovels already,, i was a boy scout, and am,, prepared. and,, anxious,, and,, thirsty,, brb,, ha

sue,,

"the ability to let go and let instinct take over. Artists have already figured out how to put themselves out there and allow themselves to feel and express. It's what we do to create our art."

i like that,, very nicely put,, and on the money,, cheers :byebye:

i have abandoned all of my recent cloning attempts. besides the fact that the plant i was cloning is a plant that i no longer wish to associate with,, jerk hermie susceptible plant you, an unknown strain which i no longer wish to propagate, procreate, re create, and associate, ,,,,,,,,,,end of debate,

but i have not given up on cloning,, oh no!!!!!!!! not at all.

meet,, lemon haze 1

P1140795.JPG

lemon haze 2

P1140796.JPG

and least but last,, lemon haze 3

P1140797.JPG

cloned yesterday from a mother plant one week into flower,, the lemon haze just put to flower has a messa shoots i could pull off,, so,, stuff to play with,, :cheer:

i don't have a air stone or a spray cloner or anything else yet,, just the cut and plant and smoka de hopium method,, but i read of many many different methods and they all have a few points in common,, the cutting stalk, the in the ground part,, needs,, air and water,, not sure which is most important, about equall i would bet,, so,,

i mixed a lotto perlite with a little soil, thinking this method might address both the air and water issues,,

time, ,,,,

again, only time is going to be able to supply me with the answers i seek will robinson,,

and my poor, without expensive proper cloning contraption clones, have no clone dome either,, well hold on there,, 'had' no clone dome is more like it,, i went all out this time,, figured it was about time,, these little plants deserve the respect,, they have been sorely lacking in that department, my fault,, i see that now,,

i thought an old dirty plastic bag over might do it,, had it on too,, plants looked so happy,, really happy

then it hit me,,, literally,, a bag of tree ornaments fell off the shelf and near killed me,, well, near hit me,, ok, i saw the bag and thought it might be useful,, and it was

P1140798.JPG

you have never seen young plants faces light up like these little ones faces did when i turned the lights on this puppy,,

P1140800.JPG

only one day into cutting but the clones are all erect and proudly standing at attention,, i have good vibes about this method,,

time,,

the time thing again

oh ya,, still no pistols on afghandi,, but pods, and i am near certain that it is female

unless it's male,, then it's positive it's male

Nivek,,are you using aloe vera for your clones?

Nivek,,are you using aloe vera for your clones?

no,, heya,, and i remember you mentioning that,, tho i forgot. i have really only ever tried 5 or 6 clones,, and i have had some good success with 'honey' as the rooting agent. something i came up with while searching for rooting powder substitutes. the best, they say,, is willow bark,, that is, apparently, what a lot of rooting powders are made of, apparently

we are garage sailers, and i am on the lookout for a aloe plant,, now,, the garage sale season is just beginning,, cheers sue, thanks for the reminder
