Small 1st Grow Already In Progress Using LEDs To Flower & T-5s For Veg

Great setup!! Lovely looking ladies!!
just spent a cup of coffee catching up.

2 things;
1: I used to live right outside of Billings!! Such a beautiful state.
2: You picked a good time to start your grow. Now that the temps aren't consistently in the mid 90's it makes it way more easy to keep temps under control!!!

Don't mind me driving The Little Bus in and parking her for the show!!!
:welcome:

Yes Montana is truly beautiful and diversified. Many fond memories were created there.
As for the temp part I am lucky in that department. My grow set up is in one of the extra bedrooms in our home and we have central heating/AC. I vent all my tents out doors and pull fresh in from the house. It does have some draw backs to it though, natural gas heat tends to dry the air so keeping the RH% in my Veg tent sometimes can be a choir though I have found ways to get through it.

Hope to see you at the end of the show when it get more interesting.

Day 18 in flower
Been a bit hectic the last few days with family in town but I did manage to get things caught up. Gave my brother and sister a ziplock baggy full of Sativa and one full of Indica to try out for me to see how it tasted. They said it had an enjoyable smell and was not harsh at all, I believe the term my sister used was quiet smooth. I was tickled pink.

I flushed out Miss Mango today (yes I know I am a few days early but had the open opportunity) I believe I ran 15 gallons of straight H2O through her, hard to keep exact track and took a few pictures of her since I had her out of the tent.
I did a feeding on all the girls and was a bit surprised by some tomfoolery going on in my Veg tent. I would tell you but feel a picture says a 1,000 words so in order to keep it short, keep an eye out for it.
Everything is pretty much right where I am hoping to see it at so without further ado :

I have been running my light over the SCROG at 18" and over lonely miss "Mango" at 9 inches above her tallest branch Coverage appears to ok, would prefer another LED but "she who must be obeyed" says NOT yet.

:laughtwo: It's such a delight to have stumbled into another home with a sister spirit.

You've got some serious buddage going on here. Nice looking screen going too. Cool.

I completely understand i didint even realize where itt was till i posted the comment, i am thinking 10 weeks that means 7 more weeks but in reality 7 more weeks is end of december right where i knew it would be when i put em into flower but i love seeing buds forming and growing and climbing. This is my favorite time, and then when its time to pull them everything seems like its taking forever :allgood:

So you think I will end up with enough to make some of SweetSues Famous brownies when i finish up?
Sure hope so
This is my first indoor grow in over 30 plus years so I am happy how it is going.

Great thread and posts OlderGrower!

Pulling up a BeanBag chair.

Oh yeah, I thought this was a family friendly site, but while innocently perusing through your thread I was utterly aghast and mortally shocked having LadyBug porn appear on my screen!
:woohoo:

Good job

Thanks

Hey it was not easy to get them to strike that pose for the camera. I had to give them both a weekend furlough from patrolling for mites and a chocolate bar.

We appear to be at about the same stage in our grows. I flipped mine on 10/17, so 20 days since mine went to 12/12.
I'm not familiar with a flush at this stage. Can you explain the reasoning behind it?

Everything is looking great! I never know whether I should be happy to have ladybugs, or not. :hmmmm:

As for the reason behind the flush, well actually I was about 4 days early with it. I was reading the FF feeding schedule and they recommend after week 4 to flush with 2 tsp/gallon with a product called sledgehammer (hoping I do not get in trouble for using that name I am not promoting or recommending said product merely reading the schedule to Major Pita to make my point more clear) then again at the end of week 7 and week 10.
The reason behind doing so is to flush out salts and unused nutrients that are in the soil. In nature, heavy rains do that for you, so this is a way to mimic nature to keep the soil around the plant from building up to many salts and over feeding. At least that is what I took from all the articles I have read on the subject. I am by far not a scientist or expert on the subject. Merely going by the interpretation of what I have read. If I am wrong about my interpretation hopefully some one will chime in and set me on the correct path.

As for the lady bugs, hey whats not to like about lady bugs, they have a great paint job, and if your really lucky like me, you get to watch a live sex show in your garden. It is nature at its finest!

Not sure If I will be able to have time to do an update today, maybe late tonight. With family in town they want everyone to get together for a family meeting to figure out what to do about mom. Kind of hard to weasel out of that one, then I need to pick up "she who must be obeyed from a retirement party after work for a co-worker. Since she plans on getting wasted and needs a driver. If she gets wasted, I may be trying out some of the new moves I learned from my friends the ladybugs, which will tie me up for at least 2 maybe even 3 minutes.

So if no update, please all have a great day and be safe.

Have fun tonight! Where do you acquire lady bugs anyway? Do they eat just bad bugs or leafs too?
My son got this batch for me online though the shipping cost as much as the ladybugs. I have seen them in a few grow stores locally.
They are one of the many beneficial insects of many which eat bad bugs. The will eat spider mites though their true preference is aphids. As far as I am aware they are not a leaf eater, more of a carnivore. I figured it they got out of the tent, a lady bug in the house loose would not freak the wife out as opposed to a few of the other beneficial insects available.
I am also contemplating a few companion plants into the tents, the wife has suggested to me. Apparently there are certain plants that bad bugs dislike and will avoid them.
Just me being weird and thinking of different options to avoid the problems before they become a problem.

The little buggers usually start finding their way inside about this time of year around here. Looking for a place to winter. Farkin' snowbirds! Lol.

They eat bugs. No harm to plants. I love lady bugs. The only reason I get concerned when I see them inside my grow room is, it means there is something for them to eat. This time of year they are everywhere trying to stay warm.
