Did some work clearing the back yard and prepping my room for motherhood.
SNS sent me some samples of SNS 217 Mite control and SNS 244 Fungicide. Let's hope I don't have to use them.
Blue Dream clone is doing well, slowly putting out new leaves. I also spotted a branch forming. To tired for pics today. Should have some up by Tuesday, of the clone and the space I will use for my mother room.:peace:

Yeah, I have those too as part of a prize package, but I'm like you - happy to have 'em, but hope not to have to use 'em!

:cheer: Go Blue Dream!

I am sure some of you are wondering what kind of lights I will use to veg. I have decided to use a combination of the sun, cfl and mh. I have 4 big windows that will allow the sun in for 12 hours ,6 of it direct light during winter, during summer 14 hours with 10 of it direct sun . These windows face west and north. During the mornings the cfls will be on until the sun begins to shine through. On cloudy days the mh will supplement the cfls. Also this will give them much needed warmth.
I am going to go with the lowest possible wattage to save $. Since this is a veg chamber I will not worry about flowering , however I will need a small chamber for sexing ,my seed grown plants..hmm, got something in mind involving black curtains with a white backing.
The space I have is 4 x 8, not going to buy a tent and all that. I will make my own, because I can. I could use some good advice here, on lighting and what ever else you may think is valid, before I go out and spend my hard earned cash.
Can i fit 7 mothers and a couple of cloning(70 clones) chambers in that space? I think so, the ceiling is pretty high, I am going to stack, to save space.:peace:

so you have to be a winner at some point in time to get these samples??? I would like to be armed if I ever have to bust out that nine and bust some SM caps off, you know what I mean???

:peacetwo:

When needed I'll be bustin' laser guided, fin stabilized, sabot discarding, bio smart caps, in that mite, goodnight.:peace:
I think its just a matter of patience with them, I exchanged a few e-mails with a rep there. They are super busy with requests for samples.
I used some of the anti fungal on my Blue Dream yesterday, and the soil, a light mist, it smells awesome. I'll know more on how it reacted tonight.
I will also start feeding her BPN , tomorrow , this will be her first feeding. I am excited. :peace:

lookin good Smoke2.
That SLH is kinda weird with the curling leaves???? That particular genotype probably has some strange nutrient requirements or some sensitivity to certain nutes...what ya think?

I was light on the nutes and water for most of the SLH's life cycle, so its possible that there were nutrient deficiencies, also the hot summer day to cold fog cycle played a roll in its growth and nutrient uptake.
All in all a success for me and mine.

I keep getting calls of love from my prop215 sb420 friends. The most common comment is, "you grew this? in your back yard? Holy Shit! Thanks bro."

Plans for this journal , 7 different strains seed to flower in ground , 35 clones from 7 strains, in 5 and 10 gal pots, 5 pots of 7 different strains each. 14 different strains, 42 plants in all, not including the 7 mothers. so 49 plants in different stages of growth. 4 roomies with cards, 4 friends with cards as well. Way under the limit.

I have found my calling. I find a great deal of joy growing medicine for my friends, family, and other card holders. I just hope that the Obamanation gains some sense and stops persecuting the sick and disabled people who use this wonderful medicine. I have a friend who is willing to help , (the little bro I adopted, his brother is a dick) totally loyal and full of love.:peace:

Blue Dream, she has made the switch. I fed her today, I was waiting for the soil to dry up a little more. While I waited for the soil to dry I tested her reaction to the SNS-244 , No adverse reaction after 3 days of exposure. So , I am confident it will not harm her later on.
Here she is, ready to grow into a healthy mother of many. I will cycle her out after 6 months of growth, to be replaced by a cutting I take from her.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid found in Cannabis. It is a major constituent of the plant, representing up to 40% in its extracts.[2]
It has displayed sedative effects in animal tests.[3] Some research, however, indicates that CBD can increase alertness.[4] It may decrease the rate of THC clearance from the body, perhaps by interfering with the metabolism of THC in the liver.
Medically, it has been shown to relieve convulsion, inflammation, anxiety, and nausea, as well as inhibit cancer cell growth.[5] Recent studies have shown cannabidiol to be as effective as atypical antipsychotics in treating schizophrenia.[6] Studies have also shown that it may relieve symptoms of dystonia.[7][8]
In November 2007, it was reported that CBD reduces growth of aggressive human breast cancer cells in vitro and reduces their invasiveness.
A 2008 study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry showed significant differences in Oxford-Liverpool Inventory of Feelings and Experiences scores between three groups: The first consisted of non-cannabis users, the second consisted of users with Δ9-THC detected, and the third consisted of users with both Δ9-THC and CBD detected. The Δ9-THC only group scored significantly higher for unusual experiences than the Δ9-THC and CBD group, whereas the Δ9-THC and CBD group had significantly lower introvertive anhedonia scores than the Δ9-THC only group and non-cannabis user group. This research indicates that CBD acts as an anti-psychotic and may counteract the potential effects of THC on individuals with latent schizophrenia.[9]

Cannabidiol is shown to decrease activity of the limbic system[10] and to decrease social isolation induced by THC.[11] It's also shown that Cannabidiol reduces anxiety in social anxiety disorder. [12] [13] In April 2005, Canadian authorities approved the marketing of Sativex, a mouth spray for multiple sclerosis to alleviate pain. Sativex contains tetrahydrocannabinol together with cannabidiol. It is marketed in Canada by GW Pharmaceuticals.
Studies have shown that CBD may reduce schizophrenic symptoms in patients, likely due to their apparent ability to stabilize disrupted or disabled NMDA receptor pathways in the brain, which are shared and sometimes contested by norepinephrine and GABA.[6][14] Leweke et al. performed a double blind, 4 week, explorative controlled clinical trial to compare the effects of purified cannabidiol and the atypical antipsychotic amisulpride on improving the symptoms of schizophrenia in 42 patients with acute paranoid schizophrenia. Both treatments were associated with a significant decrease of psychotic symptoms after 2 and 4 weeks as assessed by Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale. While there was no statistical difference between the two treatment groups, cannabidiol induced significantly less side effects (extrapyramidal symptoms, increase in prolactin, weight gain) when compared to amisulpride.[15]
Cannabidiol has also been shown as being effective treating an often drug-induced set of neurological movement disorders known as dystonia.[8] In one study, five out of five participants showed noted improvement in their dystonic symptoms by 20-50%.[7] CBD also appears to protect against 'binge' alcohol induced neurodegeneration.[16][17]
Cannabidiol may block THC's interference with memory.[18]
[edit]Pharmacology

Cannabidiol has no affinity for CB1 and CB2 receptors but acts as an indirect antagonist of cannabinoid agonists.[5] Recently it was found to be an antagonist at the putative new cannabinoid receptor, GPR55, a GPCR expressed in the caudate nucleus and putamen.[19] Cannabidiol has also been shown to act as a 5-HT1A receptor agonist,[20] an action which is involved in its antidepressant,[21][22] anxiolytic,[22][23] and neuroprotective[24][25] effects.
Cannabidiol has also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth with low potency in non-cancer cells. Although the inhibitory mechanism is not yet fully understood, Ligresti et al. suggest that "cannabidiol exerts its effects on these cells through a combination of mechanisms that include either direct or indirect activation of CB2 and TRPV1 receptors, and induction of oxidative stress, all contributing to induce apoptosis."[26] In November 2007, researchers at the California Pacific Medical Center reported that CBD shows promise for controlling the spread of metastatic breast cancer. In vitro CBD downregulates the activity of the gene ID1 which is responsible for tumor metastasis.[27]
[edit]Chemistry

Cannabidiol is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. At room temperature it is a colorless crystalline solid.[28] In strongly basic medium and the presence of air it is oxidized to a quinone.[29] Under acidic conditions it cyclizes to THC.[30] The synthesis of cannabidiol has been accomplished by several research groups.[31][32][33]
[edit]Biosynthesis
Cannabis, produces CBD-carboxylic acid through the same metabolic pathway as THC, until the last step, where CBDA synthase performs catalysis instead of THCA synthase.[34]
[edit]Legal Status

In Canada Cannabidiol is a Schedule 2 Drug, a category that encompasses quantities of cannabis less than 30 grams, and various related synthetic derivatives and preparations.[35] In the United States it is Schedule I. [36]

Ahh, it's one of those high CBD strains. I'm familiar with them, but haven't seen one grown yet or heard a strain review done on one (I'm sure they're out there though). I'm definitely interested in seeing you grow one of those - can't wait to hear your take on 'em. Have you grown a CBD strain before or smoked/vaped one?

I have never grown it. Omrita Rx is a Harborside exclusive right now. I have smoked it and enjoyed the relief from pain . It is a cross between RX from Canada and a secret blend of herbs and spices. But seriously The rest is a secret, kinda. It all started with a guy who got some RX seeds and crossed them and liked the results, he continued until we have Omrita Rx.:peace:

Time for some pics. I will be buying some soil (very little) and adding two more clones tomorrow then off to my friends to chill for a few days.I have a 150 watt incandescent going 24 hours, and 3 40 watt cfls on a 17 hour cycle . Why? I wanted to heat up the clone chamber and provide varied levels of 24 hour light, to see what happens. I am thinking of going to 12 on 5 off 1 on 5 off repeat:love:

Your clones looks great. You got many legendary strains there, and some clone only strains, will be a beautiful harvest when the day comes. When you apply the 12-1 (Gas Lantern Routine) they'll explode. I've did a test run for a month and have conclude that it's superior to any other veg light cycle. I'm not getting paid to say that, lol. Looking forward to their growth.

Didn't know you're a Dali fan.

Seen you call Oaktown 'Bump' city. Then seen you had a strain I wood like to have, 'Romulan' signed the deal Guess I'll have to do another drive bye, I also lived in Oakland. I was in the deep east, but I had a room in the back that was kicking out some good top shelf herbs. Place was crazy when I was there. That was like 84'? Well best luck to ya in your grow. Just feed my girls,Farmers Pride veg 1 feeding schedule. Since I made a quart instead of a gallon I used 1/2 of the recommended amount. each plant got 1/6th of the quart. I hope this is not too much at this stage, but I am not too worried. Turned out to be just enough to have water run out of the bottom. My closet stinks. :). They have adapted to my light schedule and have begun to increase in size. The problem I am having right now is water evap is slow. no mold or insects, no dying leaves, no deficiencies evident.
I think a small fan would help the evap problem as well as make my girls stronger.:peace:
