nirvana white castle
nirvana super skunk,

ill check them out on that link you posted and see what it says about them on their,

both of the ones i get sound like very nice strains
nirvana White Castle (10 seeds)
White Castle (10 seeds)
F1 hybrid of White Widow and Ice. Strong social high. Well-loved by medical users.

Super Skunk (10 seeds)
Potent F1 hybrid of Skunk #1 and Skunk Special. Strong flavor, powerful buzz. Commercially interesting yields.

They all sound pretty fine strains to grow & certainly the Ice strain has crossed my mind for a future grow as it sounds most tasty with an interesting back ground of parentage/breeding :thumb:

I must admit i've only grown Nirvana seeds being Bubblelicious, Blue Mystic & Chrystal being my current strain of choice at present... i do have a habit of growing a strain more than few times if results are desirable for my own needs/medication hence only a few strains grown to date.

I'll have to keep my eye open for ya future Nirvana strains grown donpaul.p i'm sure they will reward you well for ya time 'n' effort :high-five:

Yeah, Nirvana has been known to grab any world glass genetics developed by other breeders and then crossing it to Skunk # 1, Northern Lights # 5 or Pure Afghani :) Their products are stable and cheap though, so they have a lot of followers! I grew AK-48 and it was a great plant for indoor, you can check my old journal below!

Nearly the end of the 8th week :)

No pic's included just yet & will provide some when i'm doing the chop 'n' trim...

The last watering has been done & this being the final lights on period before aprox 36 hours of darkness with the dead line chop some time sunday after my roast dinner :thumb:

The Chrystal F1 hybrid strain has blown me away & grown pretty much with out any real issue's showing a good yielding strain !

It has only shown 2 phenotypes...

1. Sativa type leaf, shorter internode spacing in general with a hashish (afghani), a mild floral & very mildly sweet smell to the bud.

2. Indica style leaf, a larger internode spacing in general with a sweeter & floral smell to the bud.

Both phenotypes exhibit a fuel type aroma.

This is going to make the soil/organic vs hydro style smoke/smell report interesting...

I do have one under performing hemp girl aka the runt of the pack... whilst the other hempy girl is more likely my best yielding plant ever to date with a close second of a soil organic girl with an impressive fat cola !

All buds being pretty darn dense.

P.s give it 48 hours & pic's will be up :thumb:

The BAD news... bud rot / white mold in the main cola... can happen with dense bud strains (average RH 60%)

Plant 3 hempy bucket.

Another plant effected with bud rot the main cola was removed from the above pic's, i suspect this was one of first plants to be effected due to deterioration of bud.

Just to give a little idea of size of one of the better colas from a soil/organic plant.

I suspect the mold has be around for a few weeks aprox & slowly taken hold of main colas of each plant so far trimmed including the first soil plant...

Ya can see bud damage showing in this pic on the main cola also.

Effected bud has been thrown away... a minor loss

Plant 4 hempy bucket.

One of the better girls & saved for last pic's :thumb:

Once again a touch of bud rot only minor tho compared to some other girls.

Oh ye some hempy root porn.

Well some good 6 hours or so have been spent trimming... another girl to go !

Sorry about the rot, but the buds salvaged look really nice, good job as usual Fuzzy!

Ye the rot was a minor thorn in my back side !

I suspect the dense nature of the bud helped a little coupled with humidity of an average of 60% lights on, lights off humidity can spike up to 90%...

The humidity this grow has been a tad higher than past experience to which i am pondering over the method of growing being a cause in humidity rise aka the hempy bucket... being that more water is used in the hempy creating more moisture/evaporation to raise humidity.

I suspect this might be related to most hydro style/system used in grows ?

I noticed a rise in RH with the dwc in my space, but I have a window mount A/C unit, that has a dry function, RH got down to 30% in flower with it on. Dehumidifiers are fairly cheap, and worth the investment to prevent the humidity spike imo. The A/C unit was a necessity, since I was battling high temps, and my little portable unit was not enough, the dry function was just an added bonus!

Sounds like a fair thousand extra wattage used !

I do have an old dehumidifier kicking around some 450w per hour to use... that is not so clever for the electric bill, also a side effect of dehumidifiers is heat generated.

Kind of adds complications in cost to run plus dealing with additional heat.

Mmm a technical challenge appears to have arisen & time for some home work :thumb:

Totally unexpected, Fuzzy :(
But with great branching you've had - they actually look like from a SCROG - I guess this is a minor setback. Well, you took a risk by swapping your growing method and there you go. Only the hardest strains will survive RH of 90% and higher, hazes and stuff like that. Got mold myself on one plant outdoor this year, but I managed to fight it off. It's a bit like being caught with your pants down, but pain passes the NeXT day :D

The bud rot progressed through the slow air drying stage an estimated total loss of aprox 30% to 40% of bud was trashed... i was going through the bud every 2 days chucking moldy lumps out, rather than panic & do a quick dry i let nature takes its course an additional week extra of slow air drying was given as i had to make sure what was going to go moldy would go moldy before placed in the curing jars others wise you can imagine what might happen !

Curing will be another 2 to 3 weeks.

To date only the smell test has been done 3 out 4 people said they couldn't tell the difference & 1 out of 4 said the hempy bud had a slightly more fuel aroma sharpness.

Both exhibit fuel aroma with fruitiness back ground smell.

Only myself tasted it so far lets just say fruity sweetness quick hitting head high mellowing out to a body relaxed feeling... ye don't know which one it came from as it was salvaged from a cola of rot & quick dry down.

I don't use the micro or oven method as it really fecks with taste.

I prefer a large saucepan half filled with water & bring to boil.

You need to find a plate to sit on top of the sauce pan, place a kitchen paper towel on plate and break bud into small pieces.

Once water is boiling turn down and let simmer for 30 to 45 mins...

When the time has expired turn of gas/electric hob and let the plate on pan sit with the bud on it for another 3 to 4 hours or so & let the remaining warmth from pan dry bud out further.

It leaves you with a more pleasant tasting bud than the harsh smoking quick dry with grill/oven or micro wave :thumb:

I'll get some smoke reports up in a couple of weeks.

P.s It would of been my best harvest/yield to date... but still walked away with favourable results of several oz if it wasn't for the bud rot i estimate a couple short of dozern at best.

Fuck this, man! Shit happens, but every grow is a lesson. I was collecting my Tangerine Dream buds from the ground one month ago as the wind broke it into pieces 3 days before harvest. I cleaned mouldy stuff under running cold water and then used an electric heater to pre-dry them. Great smoke I have to say and mould didn't progress through drying.
