420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By Slammy Pajama

I'd love to save the effort of having to up-pot! :laughtwo:
I completely agree! From what I understand though is that better root development takes place in smaller pots as you move up into larger containers. I have not tested out this theory for myself though. At the moment, the plant that is the strongest in my tent was planted into only a slightly larger container. Who knows?! Haaa haaa

Yea that was the reason I've typically gone that way, and they usually fill out each container pretty densely with roots before going into the next container (because slammy gets a little lazy in the garden when the day job gets busy haha). But I usually try to have really long veg times anyway, so I can try to keep my plant count down and still fill the tents as best I can. So maybe that will still give them a chance to fill out the big containers with roots well enough!

Did your big container ladies take longer to breach than the small pots? I've noticed during my up-pots that there's almost a little delay at first when they have a larger volume of soil, like they're sinking that taproot down to the very bottom of the soil mass before working on the growth up top. Curious to see how that compares with these ones!

Huh...never thought of that. I'll have to look back at my notes. Interesting thought that makes complete sense.

Yeah, I'm not in a hurry to get through veg. I want to fill my tent as best I can. I will be trying a couple training techniques so that might make it hard to get even coverage. We'll see.

I'm super keen to try proper quadlining! I haven't gotten as even/symmetrical results from the way I usually train, but I've picked up some good tips and tricks from The QuadSquad Thread that I'm excited to try out!!

Today's update:
Day 3 (still in soil)
Temp: 20-26 degrees
RH: 47-72%

Still no sign of them yet! Temp and RH are in a good place, so we'll just keep on being patient. I did give the soil a little more water today, just to make sure they aren't getting dried out. Hopefully they will show themselves tomorrow!

Today's update:
Day 5
Temp: 16-27
RH: 40-72%

We've got liftoff! :yahoo: Three out of 5 little friends have sprung above ground and are looking beautiful and green! 2 of the small containers, and one of the big ones! They still look nice and moist, so we'll check in on them again tomorrow and see how they are doing!

Yesterday's update:
Day 6
Temp: 19-26 degrees
RH: 40-55%

Looking great!! Another little friend popped out of the second big container, so we've got 4 out of 5 already off to the races!! :yahoo:

Temp and RH have been in a decent place, although they are looking a little stretchy. Hopefully I can get them raised up enough to make good use of the same light as the others in the veg tent. Worst case, I think I might just send the two big ladies into flower early and chop one or a few of the flower tent down early! I want plenty of room to treat these girl scout cookies right!

We'll keep watching and waiting, they should still have enough moisture to be happy for a little bit yet. Can't wait to see them take off!!

Looking good @Slammy Pajama

Can't wait to see what these babies do!

Happy Growing :peace:

Thanks so much for your guys' support on this grow!! I can't wait to see what your mycorrhizae will do for these beautiful little @Weed Seeds Express seedlings! They're the perfect addition to supercharge these @GeoFlora Nutrients, what a bonus when the nutrients showed up with these babies in tow! Thanks again!!

Speaking of...
Today's update:
Day 8
Temp: 22-30 degrees
RH: 45-61%

These girls are looking fantastic! I moved the ones in the smaller containers up a little closer to the lights, and they seem to have appreciated that. Everybody is showing some great growth, can't wait to see how they take off with @GeoFlora Nutrients and @DYNOMYCO working hand-in-hand to build roots and give the plant full access to all the food and water they crave!

Looking good Slammy - Is that wood chips for a mulch layer on top of soil??

GL with your grow.

Hey thanks!

It's an alfalfa hemp stalk mulch with a few other goodies to improve wetting and repels some pests.

Yesterday's update:
Day 10
Temp: 17-29 degrees
RH: 41-62%

The little guys are growing up right before our eyes! They were put in their own dedicated tent so I can keep the light height and intensity where it needs to be. Everyone was given a light moistening. 4 out of 5 have sprouted and conditions were not optimal. Happy with the outcome!
