Capt Blast Moving Indoors - A Utility Shed Perpetual

I'm wore out and will detail you all mañana, the a/c install pulled a friction nerve in me old lower back, found the problem child to be showing a couple wannabe nanners, don't know why I didn't suspect this and be more on top of it, not many, but fans a going 24/7, I bagged her took her out in the back 40 chopped her up and checked the root ball just to get an idea of moisture. Like WC said can stay to moist, but then Mr. Shiggity prefers some moisture in flower. Anyway, take a look at the few pics before lights on, wish I could have done better, needed a flash light to see the target but tough enough just sitting down and getting up.

WeaselC man your post was no apology necessary actually a few attaboys due + reps, thank you. As well Shiggity, Griz I'll get to yours when I get to the boat tom. done slowed down get to play with the putor and sleep most of the watch :yahoo: that is if me old back will allow it.

A few pics.

This root ball on the hermit green Crack was quite wet but I did water just two days ago, I notice I maybe shouldn't use the funny pages for holding the soil in next time but good roots structure all around, not near full with 3-4 weeks to go, also could have done a better job of mixing the perlite:

Few of the others, I'll be home nightly to check and hope we don't get seeds, though I wouldn't mind a few:

I'm out 1/2 day tom @ work tomorrow and a full night in the "Sugar Shack"

good plants get good light. Scrawny plants get the less nice spots or get tossed. We are always low on space. Any plant that doesn't do its job gets made into butter and replaced. Teaches the other plants to do better. "where did tina go?" "shhhh she was scrawny and got taken away...fatten up girls or you will be next!"

lol :rofl::rofl:

last night,tweaked the ole back installing the A/C unit. Had to move some wires, build a header, install jack & cripple studs then sill. got it up and running now need a few more outlets and one a 220 to use heat + A/C with new unit next winter. Finish up the installation and should be able to setup for a work counter, storage cabinet and relax viewing chair table.

Question for my posse. Am I being an overly concerned parent after tossing the hermit the other day or will these pods just start growing hairs instead of seeds by the time I get home tonight? Thanks yawl!

I know the feeling, I'm looking at my sours now and seeing pollen sacks too in my flowers.

Cheers

It's easy to see if those calyxes have been pollinated- by dissecting them. Immature seeds will be a very soft squishy substance inside. Hard to know from the pictures though- often there are a few empty puffed up calyxes lower down on the plant.

Thanks for coming back so fast WC, reps +. I am starting to see some small hairs coming from them so as ShiggityFlip mentioned I'm hoping that is just more bud coming, there is a big gap here, and I do not see anything down lower but will be keeping a sharp eye out. Plants is really putting her stack on so I hope it's not a water effort! Thanks again

:thanks::wood:

I often see these preflowers very full. If they were pollinated the flowers around them would have likely been pollinated too. But we see white hairs, not shriveled brown ones. I think you are ok at the moment with those particular ones.

I searched and searched Shiggity and mainly just see general sexting pics and such, though I did find some info confirming what you said, that the plant in this period (42) days of 12/12) will still be trying to make seeds and show these pods but if/when the white hairs come she isn't pollinated and goes onto making it a flower. Which makes sense. Just nervous nellie @ the moment though the hermie wasn't really starting good and hopefully hadn't a chance to put out pollen :wood:. We shall see. Thank you also for the quick comeback. Working off my shift in an hour then an hour commute and will have 3 1/2 days to give them my undivided attention. They are starting to need things (water/feed) @ separate times all of a sudden which makes it quite the chore, but grateful to have mad it this far along. Rps to you also my new friend.

:thanks:

Any plant can hermie if stressed enough. It's just a different spot on the scale to make it hermie. Some plants hermie always, normal life is stress enough. Some only hermie at the end of the season. Some only hermie if stressed enough like crazy light leaks, extreme conditions, or colloidal silver. So feminized seeds are as likely to produce hermies as their dads(weird moms lol).
So I will tend not to use seeds produced by low stress hermaphrodites where the stress is not something epic like 110 degree temps or colloidal silver.
That being said this last grow I had some bagseed that made excellent plants that did not hermie.

Like Shiggity says, in my experience growing from seeds caused by hermies, the hermie tendencies of the resulting plants seem to pretty much correlate with whatever the hermie tendencies of the parents were. So they seem to take about the same level of stress to hermie as whatever level of stress it took to cause the original hermies, which caused the seed, if you understand what I mean. I had a shitload of seeds produced from nanners, and for a couple years I grew only that strain, usually from seed, sometimes from clones. They almost all grew a few nanners about 2/3 of the way through flowering. I would pick them out in one or two sessions and then that would pretty much be the end of the nanners for that round. I'd always have a few seeds but it wasn't much. Nanners don't seem to make huge amounts of pollen like males do.
As for the swollen calyxes, if that's what they are, they vary for me depending on strain. Some have lots throughout the bud and all over the plant. Always make me worry for a second till I poke and prod them and figure out that they're empty.

:welcome: Dr Bob pull up a chair, my posse is small but highly knowledgable and most helpful.

As I mentioned to MillerTm I gotta get by your place. Tonight gonna be an all nighter with the girls. 45th day of flower so all coming out for a trim close inspection and feeding. Feeding the 7 in the 4x4 as well they are now 2 weeks in flower and will replace these after harvest. Have some in the lil' veg tent (2x4) clones of current Green Crack and Critical Kush, that need a watering and last but certainly not least 9 White Widowx BigBud that have to be transplanted into 1 gallon pots. This is not a hobby its an addiction :lot-o-toke:. I call it my other job :rofl: but love to open the room each and every night @ lights on :adore:

Welcome aboard

:passitleft:

Addiction is it man, especially when sharing here, it just adds so much more interest into the grow.. well to me anyway, lol.... Looks like your swollen calyx has been covered... Looking forward to next update mate...

Just got done with about 6 & 1/2 hours of my 45 day trim (days in flower), fed Fox Farm's Tiger and big bloom to the max also added 1 tablespoon per gallon of Brer Rabbit Molasses. I am noticing quite a few of the white hairs turning brown, by the breeder I'm two weeks out so maybe that's on schedule, but by the buds stacking on several plants I'm disappointed I see very little movement in covering the larger nodal gaps on those plants. The buds are really rock hard and I have been underfeeding I suspect all along. I've also fought some temp and humidity issues, but working on getting that all dialed in, it's a sum bitch the way our weather changes round here. Anyway, over all as it's my first indoor go at it and I've steadily been trying to build the room at the same time as growing I'm fairly pleased. Tonight after the trim I am giving myself an estimate of about 1 & 1/2 to 2 zips a plant (9 plants) under the 1k. My 7 next in line are 2 weeks into flower in the 4x4 and stretching like no tomorrow under the 600 watt, may have to try a little super cropping on the Purps and a Delicious Cheese Candy that are 8 inches taller than the the other 5. Meanwhile in the lil' veg tent (2x4) the 6 clones of Green Crack & Critical Kush seem to be happy happy happy under the new T8's for now. Got 9 of my White Widows X Big Bud of 10 sprouted and ready for transplant and into the veg tent. Lots going on. Had 2 A/c units in my shed neither works worth a damn, but I'm getting there, need a window unit A/c, finish the ceiling insulation and some funds and hopefully a better yield next month. Not complaining think I'll be quite pleased with the harvest, stuff is sticky sticky and sweet smelling. Got some yellow pics, and will try and catch them with the good camera tom. nite just before lights on. Tweaked my back about five days ago so it was pure torture in the "SUGAR SHACK" tonight! Off work for 2 & 1/2 days rain all day tom., might as well sleep in for a change :yahoo:

Few pics and I'm out yawl, thanks again for everyone's help!
