Totally understand how you feel about slackers! Definately! So true at 18 years old how we didn't realize or appreciate the moment! What a big growing experience. As much as I have bitched about the Marines I will always be proud to be one. In the end for me it was more good than bad experience.

Ha!! Yes! The combat boots. Now that you are a civilian slimolo! I think the summer dress that she was wearing in another pic would be great. With a summer dress I would go with the green boots. No Socks!! Giggity Giggity! LoL!!

Yeah, Notice How In Life, Usually, Unless Were AFU, We Tend To Have WAY MORE BETTER EXPERIENCES THAN BAD!!! And You Know The Old Adage "That Which Does Not Kill Us, Makes Us Stronger!!!", So We Need The Bad To Shape Us, As Well!!!:high-five: As far as Boots Go, I don't Know, I kinda Like The Desert Ones, When She Is In CAMO, OF COURSE!!!:circle-of-love:LOL!!! Sometimes less is more - good move culling the TD. :rip: Tangerine Dream. I've seen a number of aborted, poor, or botched grows with that strain, too. More so than any other plant, honestly. If you have a good cut still - hang onto it! :)

Thats one crazy DI you had. I had one like that too. He was always threatening us with crazy shit like "cutting our heads off"... And you kinda got he sense he might actually do it sometimes. Yikes!

Thanks X! I thought I had a clone of the Tangerine Dream. I did but I grew it as a short little plant as an experiment! Now I wish I would have kept it. I pulled it the other day when the trichs were just cloudy and it has a much stronger smell than its mother. It is not super exceptional so I am ok. I do have a few more seeds. I will see how they work out. Its funny. I have been having better luck with the clone plants that I do with the seed plants. I am going to start to work with clones more. I am thinking about keeping 3 strains going that I have now. And just keep it at 5 plants in the grow room instead of 6.
When was running hydro I could only put 4 plants in the room and it was stuffed.

Yes, my DI was a crazy guy. To this day I still believe that was a dead round but I still don't know for sure. It is a memory that still is in my mind vividly even though it happened 30 years ago! Funny you said about your DI cutting heads off. They sure knew how to get inside our heads didn't they!! LoL!

Re: Closet Farmer's Soil Multiple Strain Grow-Juicy Buds? Aye Aye Sir!!

I am sure You Have thought long and hard about going from Seeds To Clones. The Pros for Clones is that You Get Genetic Stability, for awhile, and You Do Not Have to Mess with Starting Seeds. Plus, You are an Indoor Grower, and I know a lot that choose to go this Direction. But if You stick with Seeds, You will get some Genetic Diversity, sometimes Better, a lot of the Times Better. You can also Save the Pollen from Your Nicest Male Plants, and create or continue Seeds That You like, or might think two Strains Crossed, would Be awesome. But I totally Understand your quandary, Maybe You Should Do Both, and have the best of both Worlds!!! I also realize, that until You Make Seeds of your own, it is expensive to Roll the dice, and end up only with male Seeds. And as far as DI's Go, aren't they all Freaking Crazy, to the/us recruits Anyways!!! I think Your DI, CF was setting You Up Either to see if You Would Do Anything, He Told You To Do, which might have given You Status In His Or The Other DI's Eyes, Because You did not Hesitate, You Just Did As You Were Ordered. Or, He Was Checking Your Moral Aptitude, To Make Sure You Had Learned Discipline, And Right From Wrong, And That You Could Always Be Trusted To Make The Right Decision, Even Under Pressure From A Higher Up, To Accomplish The Most Important Thing, Saving One of Your Men's Life, And To Have The Courage To Go Against An Order you Knew Was Wrong. Think about it, would a Mid-High Ranking NCO, put His Career In Jeopardy, just to see if you would shoot some Recruit Because He Ordered You Too. He would know that at that instant, if You Shot, His Career would BE OVER, PERIOD, and He would Be Off To Leavenworth, FOR EVER. So in my mind, You Passed the Test with Flying Colors!!! And even though He gave You a look of Hatred and Disgust, I think He was Really Proud of You For Your Courage In Standing Him Down. Well Y'all Take Care CF. SINCERELY, JAMESTHEGREEN.

Hey there Buddy! I know now it was a test. This DI also really gave me extra help and treated me like a son. He was crazy though. Just like me! I was a real Forrest Gump in boot camp. That was the only way I knew how to stay out of trouble. He probably did want to see how far I would follow his orders! I would never shoot then and I would never shoot now unless I am life threatened!!

It is like you read my mind about the clones. Lately I have been having about a 80% success rate for seed to germinate. I have a lot of older seeds in my collection. But I have a 100% success rate for clones taking root. I was thinking about going to straight clones. Finding 5 to 6 strains to run continually. You said clones loose thier consistancy after a while. How long does it take?

After reading and pondering what you have said I am now thinking about turning 3 clones over every grow and doing two seed plants. That way when I get an exceptional strain I can replace one of my clones and that way I can keep turning them over before they loose thier consistancy. What do you think?

Thanks for the advise. Really appreciate it.
:thanks:

Plant update..

The remaining plants have been flowering for 19 days now. They are all healthy and doing really good. I still have not given them any traditional nutes. I am not sure if I even am going to do so. I was hoping to win the BOTM to get something but they might not need it anyway. The only thing these plants have had so far other than the oc+ is cal mag and sweetener.

Here is a group photo.

Hi CF. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Love your stories Buddy....glad my boot camp wasn't like that. Only I know how lucky I was to get out of Nam with only a scratch. The Marines were always first in and the fought like demons. You guys have been saving others lives for a long time. My hats off to all of you!

Your girls look perfect.....don't think they need a thing either. They are picture of health. Nice pictures too! :yummy:

My hats off to you OMM! You are a combat veteran like several other readers here. I have a boot camp story that is true. However, I never saw combat in real life. I was prepared but never saw it. I know it is not the same thing.

Thanks about the comment of my girls. I am just going to let them coast for now. They are happy with what they have. This oc+ really does make growing more enjoyable for me without having to mess with bottles of nutes. Makes my wife a lot happier too.

Personally, I'm glad you didn't go! I might not have ever met you otherwise.

Since I have my cave down here....Jo never sees all the mess. Actually, she does come down to talk sometimes...I think she blacks out what she sees.

I feel the same way you do at the moment......if the girls are fine, just let them stay that way.

Re: Closet Farmer's Soil Multiple Strain Grow-Juicy Buds? Aye Aye Sir!!

While we were in Camp Pendleton we also did a lot of humps. Humps are long hikes. All the humps were done with our rifles and back packs. Since day one of boot camp we were told about this part of our training. This was the time when we were going to hike up Mount Motherf*cker! That is really what they called it. I don't even know any other name for it. By this time we were all in great shape. We did several hikes while in Camp Pendleton. Every single one of them were very difficult. We ate sea rations. They came in little cardboard boxes and were neatly packed with the worst food on the planet. The crackers were as hard as arock. You could build a shelter with them if you had to! The canned meat didn'teven taste like the meat that was labeled on the can, it tasted more like spam. Some of the boxes would have cigarettes in them. The DI said if anyone found a cigarette they must turn it in and not smoke it. The boxes also came with a small can of sterno and a box of matches if you wanted to heat up the mystery meat. To open the cans there were also small can openers that Marines fondly call John Waynes.

When the day to climb the in famous Mount Motherfucker came we were not woke up and prepared for it. We woke up like every other day....Get on the road for chow!..... That is how we woke up every single day I can remember!! W edid what we always did. However the daily Hump started much earlier than usual. It actually started right after an Eat Duck breakfast. Eating duck was as soon as you sit down it is time to go. So you stuff as much food as you can in your mouth in seconds! After chow we started to hump! We continued to hump. We humped and humped. It seemed like every 10 feet another rattlesnake would be shaking it's rattles. The pace was very fast and we did not get breaks. Day turned into evening and I was hungry. I already was able to pee on the side of the trail without getting caught. Everyone was totally stressed out. Recruits were falling all over the place. I remember seeing one recruit on the ground laying on his back with the DI screaming inhis face......Get up Private! You are apiece of shit private! And much much more! It was total chaos!! I was terribly tired but I was not going to fall out whatever it took. I remember being totally confused. It seemed like if there was a hell, this would be it. It was that bad. I stepped over several recruits. The trail was narrow and had a lot of obstacles like trees and rocks. Recruits were falling all over but being rounded up and pushed as soon as they would fall. This hump went on well into the morning. When it was all over I was surprised to be one of the first recruits in my platoon to finish. This really surprised me because I thought I was going slower than most of them! My DI that recently put a live round in my rifle came up to my face and wiped off the dirt on it to make sure it was me said....Is that you Private Farmer?! I said.. Sir Yes Sir.. He said...Outstanding Private! Outstanding!! When he looked at me I could see in his eyes how proud he was of me. It really made me feel good. I was tired, and hungry but this felt better than food or sleep.

Re: Closet Farmer's Soil Multiple Strain Grow-Juicy Buds? Aye Aye Sir!!

Sounds like a plan, gonna try and post Plant Porn Tonight!!! But am so tired. from the All the paperwork and From going from one DEPT, To the next, to get and complete paperwork, I am bushed, when I got home this evening, I had to water and Fertilize, and this is no easy Job, when everything is in 100 Gallon containers, and You use a water wand to water by Hand, then I had to fertilize and mix it by hand out of 5 gallon Containers, and Dump 15 5 Gallon containers after everything else, by Hand. As far as your question about consistency lasting for clones, it depends a lot on how often you take clones from the Momma, and I know most Growers Might keep the Momma Plant, till the 10-20th time it is used, after that alot of them say they are No longer viable, from the constant Revegging, and move on to Younger Mothers!!! I hope this Helped CF, Damn I am Tired!!!
