SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

PCP was what it was laced with. I assume. Never wanted to try PCP. Some people I know sought out the mix.
I try to adjust the settings on my way back machine, but sometimes it's fuzzy :)

Funny how it play tricks, the memory.
Never would have wanted that pcp in my smoke, no cool at all. Only happened the once. Sometimes I wonder what happened to my friend I was with that day, for sure i will not forget that day and the bad smoke.
crazy daze..
Cheers :cheer:

Burping the jars. Those of you lucky enough to grow Carnival have some sense of how incredibly delicious my kitchen smells right now. :laughtwo:

Carnival bud porn

The first two are from Carn1:4, grown in Doc's soil and jarred up yesterday.

IMG_47197.JPG

IMG_472013.JPG

These next two are from Carn1:3, jarred on the 23rd, also grown in Doc's kit soil. The trichome development on these two plants was in another field altogether from the three grown in the overloaded soil. These are marvelous. The others will still make good brownies. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_47217.JPG

IMG_472411.JPG

On the left Carn1:4, on the right Carn1:3. You see the difference mites made in density. The buds from Carn1:3 are massive in comparison.
IMG_472716.JPG

Carn1:4 had more nice sugar leaves.

IMG_472811.JPG

Carn1:3 had density. This plant was grown closer to kit directives. Ok, I'm beginning to catch on now.

IMG_472910.JPG

You're welcome. My pleasure. You should grow some of your own. :cheesygrinsmiley: :green_heart:

Damn sue, are you going to get them tested for thc and cbd?

Nothing would please me more Hisoka, but I live in a state without those options. I'm ahead of the curve.

Sue......Im glad you're on the mend my friend. Winter has officiallay re-arrived here. I want spring. I think Im gonna find a spot rounds these parts I can grow a couple plants. :volcano-smiley:

Ah haa, well it looks stoney as hell

I assure you, it is. :laughtwo: This strain has spoiled me rotten. It's gonna be a toss up all along the line - spiritually motivating and just plain fun Carnival or zippy and speedy and a barrel of laughs Dark Devil Auto. SweetSue is one spoiled child, and oh so glad to be able to say so. :slide:

Sue......Im glad you're on the mend my friend. Winter has officiallay re-arrived here. I want spring. I think Im gonna find a spot rounds these parts I can grow a couple plants. :volcano-smiley:

There you go, the true spirit of late winter rolling into spring. "Where, oh where can I plant these girls where no one will molest them?" Best of luck. I wish I had access to remote lands. Alas, I'm a city mouse in a concrete jungle. True, Pittsburgh has more than its share of riverbanks that can't be utilized for housing and so we have a much larger percentage of trees than a typical city our size, but as for places I could garden outside..... not a chance. Grow a big one Scottay.

I believe I had 32 tops when all was said and done. Seems like a lot when. I think about it.

Yeah, but what was the take on that plant? I think you made the right choice. I've only been topping once. I'll rethink that with this next Carnival. She'll have an entire tent to herself.

I had something to do for the last couple of days so I was not really active. So now i'm back! And I also updated my journal!

My little first plants!

I'll stop by and catch up. I'm doing much better myself today. The gut's rumbling away, likely from the antibiotic, so I better get a good probiotic and some kombucha today while I'm out shipping packages some of you are waiting for. :cheesygrinsmiley:  Right now I have breakfast to tend to.

Good morning everyone.

I got my first good night's sleep since this confusion started. That'll make all the difference in the world. Now to get the gut settled. Never a dull moment. :laughtwo: The probiotic was something I was supposed to start over a week ago anyway. This might be the way the cosmos choose to get through to hardheaded me that the time to start was NOW!!! :laughtwo: Sometimes I insist on choosing the path with more resistance than is called for. That's why I surround myself with all these cosmic forces. That way I squeek through and come out ahead in the end. Lol!

Time for a good breakfast and work on my update, which I hope to get up before I head out to do the shipping.

MrGreene, you should be up to the 50 posts soon, if not already. Let me know if you're still interested in the light panels, because if not Hash Hound and his grow bud are eyeing them, and he's right down the road from me. You still retain first rights to them. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'll catch up to you all later. Get out there and spread that joy now. Isn't that the most fun?? :battingeyelashes:

Weekly Update: Friday, March 3, 2017

Let's start with the CBD Critical Cures.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1 is now 13 days in soil. She got her first Brix foliar on Wednesday. She's as drought-resistant as her mother. The 19th of Feb. was her last drink. I'm waiting to see some droop. I'll be giving her a DeStress tonight since realizing it aides in the root growth of Clones.

IMG_47567.JPG

IMG_47575.JPG

Looking like a star in the making. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_47587.JPG

The secondary clone, taken when the mother was flipped, is still waiting on roots. I think I'll hit this one with the DeStress too

IMG_47598.JPG

Critical Cure 2 (Day 81, flip + 7) I'm impressed with her vigor. I count about twenty possible tops coming along. She got a plain water drench four days ago, 1 1/2 gallons, split between top and bottom. She also got a Brix foliar on Wednesday, her first as well. I was so conditioned to the pots in the tiny closet being LOS that I kept forgetting about her needing foliars. She's no worse for wear.

IMG_473014.JPG

Let's even out this canopy a bit.

IMG_473110.JPG

That's better. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_473212.JPG

IMG_473315.JPG

Another week I'll be scheduling a CAT. Just waiting on the pistils to set.

IMG_47349.JPG

No mites in here. The spots are Brix splatter. Yes, I went back to be sure.

IMG_47359.JPG

Shiny, glossy leaves. The picture of a happy, healthy plant.

IMG_47369.JPG

In the mite-ridden tent next door....

I open this tent to care for the plants. The rest of the time it's tightly closed. After working with them I strip down, toss any clothing into the laundry basket and shower all over again before I go anywhere near the rest of my plants. This extra caution appears to be containing them within this small space, which I will completely disinfect when I get these girls harvested. One way or another I will get the mites under control without resorting to miticides again. Doc made an interesting point that a small communy, controlled, may actually enhance trichome development by encouraging a stronger immune response to the insect's exoskeletons.

Candy Cane (Day 89) her lower leaves all went yellow about two days ago. This may be a strain characteristic, heading into the final lap. She gets the SWICK reservoir topped every two days now. I gave her a topdressing of EWC a couple days ago and watered that in real good this morning with plain water. I'm just running this soil to the end.

IMG_473710.JPG

You see how the lower leaves all gave up the ghost.

IMG_47387.JPG

She's bulking up really nice.

IMG_47397.JPG

She smells amazing. I descent a strong pineapple influence. I'd not bothered to check the genealogy of this strain, but I'm growing more curious as she goes along.

IMG_47409.JPG

IMG_474111.JPG

Pistil change is just getting under way.

IMG_474913.JPG

All the real excitement is under the canopy.

IMG_475010.JPG

IMG_4751.PNG

Her roommate Emerald (Day 129, flip + 33) Now she has to fight off the mites too. I won't be doing anything other than cull overactive leaf communities.

IMG_47425.JPG

IMG_474310.JPG

She isn't slouching at the bulking up. Things are getting nice and dense in there.

IMG_474412.JPG

The mites are running amok. Poor baby. As though she hasn't had enough grief in her short life. This leaf pissed me off and got clipped.

IMG_47455.JPG

Look at the frostiness! :slide:

IMG_47465.JPG

IMG_474710.JPG

The beginnings of pistil change here as well. Looking at another three to four weeks.

IMG_47488.JPG

Lots of time to fill all of this in.

IMG_47528.JPG

IMG_475411.JPG

Oje last look back to be sure I turned the light back up. :laughtwo:

IMG_47557.JPG

The nursery. The DDAs are both a week old today.

IMG_47609.JPG

IMG_476113.JPG

IMG_47628.JPG

No sign yet of the Carnival. I dumped an ounce of water over the seed to keep things a bit more moist. Those lights right over the soil can dry things out mighty quick.

IMG_476310.JPG

That's the nickle tour guys. Thanks for stopping to ohh and ahhhh. It's much more fun gardening when you can share the joy with friends. I'm off to the rest of my day now. It's so nice to feel this much better. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

We've hit 550 pages on the previous journal, more than enough reason to start anew. I'll try to keep the additions to between 300-400 pages from now on. We do enjoy each other's company, don't we?

I'm transitioning the entire grow over to Doc Bud's High BrixBlend kit, which most of us affectionately refer to as "the kit", to keep anyone from being confused. I've been growing in Doc's kit for coming up on two years now..... Wow! That caught me off guard. I'm not all that good at it yet, but this year I have a renewed focus on growing the best, most trichome-laden girls I can because I intend to begin making the Naturally Decarbed SAP oil the Grow Goddess has developed. I'm feeling certain this may be some of the best CCO one could produce on your own.

I'll be using four spaces:

- 2 Mars-Hydro 2x2 tents for flowering
- the tiny closet for Dark Devil Autos
- a 4' x 13" metal shelf for veg

At the moment there's an Advanced DS XML 350 in one of the 2x2 tents and a Budmaster II G.O.D. panel over the other tent. The tiny closet is covered by a Timber Lights Vero 240 and the veg shelf is being served by two Mars-Hydro panels, a 3x100 and a 5x60.

I'm waiting on a special shipment from Timber Lights. They're fabricating a group of lights to cover all of the grow spaces and be more in keeping with my fluid growing style. A lot of excitement over this development, which frees up a lot of lights to find their way into other grows.

So what's growing, and what do I have planned for the upcoming year? I still have one plant in LOS, The Candy Cane in flower now. She'll be finishing up sometime in the next month.

IMG_45659.JPG

IMG_45647.JPG

To keep myself from getting crazy and messing with the kit plants as I try to gain better mastery of the system I'll be keeping a hempy pot going off to the side. It's my opportunity to learn bottled nutes and just plain have fun. :cheesygrinsmiley: At the moment that spot is occupied by Emerald, a clone of the more sativa-leaning Carnival. She's struggled as I demonstrated multiple ineptitudes at this method, but she's hung in there with me. She's at Day 119, 23 days into flowering.

IMG_45629.JPG

IMG_456310.JPG

Carn1:4, a clone of the more indica-trending Carnival, is due to come down by the weekend. She's overrun with mites or she'd get a couple more weeks.

IMG_456714.JPG

The tiny closet is currently home to a CBD Critical Cure, my second attempt with this strain, and the clone I made from the top I clipped off her last month. She's 71 days old and itching to get into that flowering tent.

IMG_45709.JPG

These will be the replacement in that space. Two Dark Devil Auto seeds secured from the stock created by Rifleman. I need to see what these seeds are capable of.

IMG_459011.JPG

I'll be focusing on Carnival most of the year, learning to grow consistent yields and potency. The grow, for the most part will be a steady supply of Carnival, Dark Devil Auto and CBD Critical Cure. I've pretty much figured out what works for myself and my daughter. I'm sure other plants will find their way in. I have some Jamaican seeds to get to and Canna and Nis gifted me some Devil's Carnival seeds of their own making. How do I pass up the opportunity to try a cross of my two favorite strains?

The shelves will be moved into the living room, since they'll be veg only and I won't need the LED panels for that. I can start with CFLs and reflectors.

IMG_458912.JPG

I'll be installing an RO system ASAP. Need to get it ordered. :cheesygrinsmiley:
It'll be nice to get the space in my bathroom back. :battingeyelashes:

My goals for this grow are the same as they've always been, keep me high on Carnival or Dark Devil Auto and keep myself and my daughter supplied with capsules made with a good CBD strain having at least a balanced ratio.

I believe that's all the pertinent information. Let me open the door and welcome you all.

:Namaste:

Subbed in and ready for the journey ...

Sue "Doc made an interesting point that a small communy, controlled, may actually enhance trichome development by encouraging a stronger immune response to the insect's exoskeletons."

I have added insect frass to soil mixes off and on for several years. You may want to ask Doc if he thinks adding it to your Kit mix would be good considering you have a crop of Borg to deal with while transitioning to a full Kit garden. It is about a 1 1 1/N P K but it is lite and I have never added very much.

I never know

I pulled over 8 oz on one carnival and 7.3 on the other Carnival. They both were topped numerous times as well as some supercropping to keep em even

Why thank you cannaruss. It smelled amazing jarring up the dry and washing the new. The plants grown in Doc's soil have a distinctive smell that quite frankly makes my mouth water. :laughtwo:

Thanks Ditch. Almost caught up. :laughtwo: I've been looking longingly at the long list of subscriptions that I still haven't gotten to. I bet Rosie's close to being harvested by now. :battingeyelashes:

How sweet of you to think of me.:love: I have rubber flooring in the kitchen, the same flooring I use for my exercise/work area in the living room. which comes very close to what the gel mats do, just not as attractively. It's come in real handy when I drop anything. Nothing breaks on my kitchen floor, it all bounces. :laughtwo:

It's nuts! I woke up this morning and opened all the windows. This might be a good day to take the Candy Cane out on the balcony and spray the hell out of the leaves with some spinosad. Yeah....... more mites. *sigh*

Mine's been complaining ever since I came home. As humid as this valley can get its no match for the island. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm looking forward to watching it all come together too Beavis. I'll breathe easier once the lights arrive.

Good morning everyone.

Nothing like a stroll past a new harvest to brighten the morning. :cheesygrinsmiley:

A little size perspective. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_464410.JPG

Sticky as hell and smelling unbelievably tasty. :laughtwo: I have company coming tomorrow, an impromptu visit by a member and his lovely companion. I may have to share a branch with him. This is too good an opportunity to share the fruits of the labor with another HB cultivator. :slide:

IMG_46439.JPG

That idea makes me crazy happy. :laughtwo: What a nice way to jumpstart the day. I have this tent to tear down and scrub with a Clorox dilution so I can flip the CBD Critical Cure tomorrow.

Time for some breakfast and the second half of my breakfast brownie. I went back to having them back-to-back. Stretching the harvest is a commendable goal if I'm running short, but I don't plan to ever be in that space again and I personally love the over-the-edge feeling of being slightly too high. Lol!

Still have that order for the rainforest site to get together too. Keep forgetting about that. I have most of the plates spinning, just some auxiliary projects to get balanced, and then I should be able to relax back a little and return to the writing. My muse has been blissfully silent while I get back into the swing of things. Just a couple more days at top speed and it slows to a gentle pace and stays here for a bit.

Joy my friends. Let it bubble from within and flavor all the precious moments of your new day. Share it far and wide and find yourself with an excess when you lay the head down at day's end. Nice how that works, eh? Glad to have you along for the joyful journey.

:love: :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug: :love:

You can make tinctures with it too. It's a great machine, and every serious canna kitchen should have one. They always give me a code to share with others that saves you $25 on shipping. I'll see if I can find the latest one.

I checked the bags and there's no mention of slow-raise. I'd ask Shawn directly. I'm sure he'd know. :laughtwo:

Thank you for sharing that link. One of our better threads IMO.

Then Lu shall have her mustard. :cheesygrinsmiley: Give me a call and you can swing by. I enjoyed the hell out of the Mancini's. I believe it made me aware of the fact that I may be gluten intolerant. :laughtwo: I'll have to be more careful in the future. I'd stopped eating much bread over the past two years and the amount of inflammation I dealt with while consuming those delicious loaves made me sit up and pay attention.

You're too sweet.

:yahoo: I'll stop by. Have you checked out the DDA thread? There're growers using any number of growing methods, and nutrients are a part of many of those grows. Mine grew in either Doc's soil or LOS, with my one hempy experiment, but I had no idea what I was doing. Kraise had the most spectacular plant to date, with the sap oozing all over.

They're pretty hardy plants. Even when you screw up they still kick your butt when you get to smoking them.

I'm not much of a mustard fan myself, and I seem to have given up cooking since Dale's passing, so if you're interested I still have another bottle to redistribute. You know how to find me. :cheesygrinsmiley: If tumeric is an ingredient they lumped it into "spices." I'd drop Shawn a line and ask.

Oh, if you're interested in the mustard I can include a piece of tumeric root I was given while in Jamaica. I have no need for it myself and it's still fresh enough you could probably plant it. Let me know.

Good morning everyone

Kind of a strange day..... last evening the lymph node behind my right ear decided to swell and the right side of my face went along for the ride. I've an appointment with my nurse practitioner, since the daughter is concerned that I recently visited another country. No telling what I'm dealing with, except that the pressure it's putting on my nerve complexes is keeping me in a constant state of nausea. Not as much fun as it sounds. :laughtwo: I've been doing comfrey root poultices this morning in my own attempt to get things settled down. I'm not certain what the conventional medical profession can offer that would beat the compresses. It's a weird enough situation that I don't mind going in for a consult.

Brownies are out of the question with the nausea, and the Vapor Tower doesn't hit the pain. Curious how that works for me, but the bong hits it fast and hard. I find that disconcerting, considering how the medical field is pushing vaporizers over combustion, when obviously combustion has an effectiveness rate beyond the capacity of vaporizers. Anyone else finding this to be true? A couple hits off the bong and I'm good for at least an hour of reduced pain and controllable nausea. I don't get the same relief from any of my many vaporizers.

Never a dull moment around here. Lol! In gardening news I've finally given up on the clone I took from Emerald before she got flipped. I mismanaged this one for too long. Not dipping it in rooting hormone at the beginning is a sure shot to failure. :laughtwo:

IMG_471015.JPG

TOAST still rocks as the king of cloning in my book. I need to pay closer attention to what I'm doing.

Planted my last Carnival seed yesterday. I have more on the way. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_470912.JPG

I'm gonna do another couple hits and follow with a warm poultice. This is the second time in a month I've been out of sorts. I don't like that. It's a good thing I know we're meant to heal. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yeh I definitely feel a lighter medicated effect from my wee vaporiser to my pipe with the same amount. There's only 3 different temp settings on mine and I think I remember seeing that some of the compounds have different boiling temps.
I try to use all 3 settings to get a broader range when I can't go for some flame ....

I haven't noticed increase in trichs from my controlled population, but the kit soil is definitely making the plants more resistant than prior grows. Something else I read about high brix growing is that EWC contains chitinase, an enzyme that breaks down exoskeletons. That helps plant resistance and repels pests. These ones have no where else to go, but at least plants are holding up.

I haven't found a large one in over a month but I keep finding a few little ones and eggs, plus the white dots on my leaves. The plants are showing no signs of stress now, but I think the cumulative stress affected trich development in the final weeks on plants I just harvested. I'm sure I could keep growing with them but reaching point that I may close down my grow for a few weeks after these plants are harvested and start over clean.
