Yeah -that's why it's "sorta" black- You're doing it right, cleaning it all up-I'll probably just bang it on the ground a few times to knock off the loose stuff- It'll match the decor in the "junk room" that way

Finally warm enough here to stain again. Shelf is done and will be installed in the morning.
I may give it a day or two to gas off and cure a bit before I put anything in there.
