Chinnubie's 2nd Shot at 2 Fem Purple Kush

I made that post at work this morning but happy day Shirley is up. Posted the details on Shadowman's thread, forgot I was there long night at work. Anyway here are the very beginning of life for both Laverne and Shirley my brand new PK plants. Happy Day, OHHHHH, Happy Day!!! My wife thinks I'm nuts for getting this silly over a plant, she just doesn't understand. I told her she's always gonna be my #1 girl, Pandora my chihuahua #2 girl, and Laverne and Shirley #3 girls. The Queen always gets her way, most of the time. He He.....Pics:

Laverne

So quick update on the girls. Laverne has started holding up her shell head up and Shirley has her cotyledons out and beginning to spread out to the light. Keeping them moist and have been making sure to keep a little water bubble in and around Laverne's shell, hopefully to get it moist enough to fall off in the next couple of days. Not gonna mess with it until firmly rooted, otherwise I'll uproot the little thing. I'm still excited to see how well the Growology works. Step 1 has been mixed into their medium, so minus the mycos from ProMix, it's all they've got.

NOCO Farmer I'm honored you chose to come see my tiny grow, pull up a seat and please, all comments and suggestions are welcome, I take criticism very well.

:welcome:

Let the games begin. I've had them come up with the shell before and they push it off on their own as they grow. Keep in mind they are very fragile right now.

I know what I did looking back when I put the seeds in, I didn't pay attention to how I placed them in medium. I just dropped them in not realizing the tap could grow the wrong way, which is what happened to Laverne. After placing her in the medium properly she's gonna be fine as soon as the shell comes off.

It's my big chance to shine with these two. Last time I had a lot of excuses this time I have nothing but the best to achieve as close to perfection as possible. Anyone have any better suggestions about the lighting? The significant other thinks I should go ahead and turn the 2-150 watt HPS lights on but I was thinking I could get a couple of nodes then put them under the bigger lights. I can keep the CFL's really close but the HPS lights can't be that close causing them to stretch. This happened when we first got them back in March thinking the plants would like the HPS light better. Changing from seedling to vegetative stage will be the big challenge for me making sure they get the proper amount of the growology nutrients at the proper time.

I went looking to get a little extra info on seedlings and watering. I germinated them inside of 72 hours in 60% ProMix BX, 20% perlite, 20% vermiculite, 1/3 cup of step 1 Growology and I couldn't find any similar type examples that fit my situation. Most folks appear to transplant their small plants after germinating in small containers. I thought I would start using a 3 ml syringe from an old animal prescription, in order to keep track of the amount of water I give to the seedlings. Gonna start giving them the 3 ml shot, plus a little spray to keep the medium moist about 3 times a day under an 18/6 light schedule. Anyone have any objections/suggestions to this idea?

Best wishes and happy growing to everyone in the :420: community.

Subbed up and a 2nd to KingJohnC he gave a warm welcome when I first came here. He grows fantastic plants as well!
Welcome Growlow, I dig your screen name. KJC is one of the most respected growers here at 420 and can answer almost any question you might have in the future. To keep his head from swelling he helps us little people with our grows, which in turn increases our abilities as growers of this great plant. :adore:

Wohoo, both are a go, now lets see them babies grow!
Thanks again NOCO, I'm gonna get some newer pics to put up in a little bit when everyone gets up.

You got this Chinnubie, I have all the confidence in you to max those girls out. :high-five:
Thanks Shadow your confidence definitely means something to me after seeing what you've done with Medi.

ahhh the excitement of freshly germinated seeds! :thumb:
I agree, but I have to ask what is that pic in your avatar and what does your screen name mean, if you don't mind me asking? Also thank you for sitting in and hopefully we'll get to some good bud porn.

Here's a couple of pics of the little girls. Laverne has a really purple stem but Shirley has bigger leaves and grown a little faster than Laverne. I'm thinking when Laverne popped out of the medium and I had to turn her around and put her into the medium properly, it may have shocked her a little bit? Temps remain stable at 77 at night and 81 during the day with RH at 50-55%. Should be fairly decent growing conditions as long as I don't goof it up. Growology seems to be working along with mycos from Promix as well. They appear happy anyway. I am going to solve the light problem with plastic and velcro when I get closer to flower. I learn from my mistakes. Tape works, but is a huge pain in the butt. I've set up a watering schedule for the tiny seedlings, every 6 hours they receive 3 ml of water plus spray to keep medium moist, water dries up quick in this medium.

Nice job getting them through the medium brotha :thumb: Now the fun begins, I can tell you're more comfortable this go round. Enjoy the ride my friend.
