Harry's Quest For Indica Dominance

Thanks Be & Bee. :smokin:

I hear ya, IRIE. I thought about pinching the top today but I figured I let a little more space form between the nodes before I do (probably tomorrow). If it were a female clone, I'd really abuse her but I'm scared of stressing it too much now. ;)

Yes Bee23, topping will create more main colas from lower down 'cause you've eliminated the main one. Crimping will make the plant bush as well, by directing growth to the lower branches.

Sorry Be IRIE, not pinch it all the way off, just crimp (super crop), as you directed me in my 1st grow. I like the super crop method better than topping and I don't want to put too much stress on it.

Please be a female.. Please be a female.. Please be a female.. :smokin:

^^ Isn't that also what you say when you pick up a hooker, nowadays? ^^

Topping makes one bud into two smaller buds, crimping is to create a weak spot by bending/snapping the outer pulp in hopes that it repairs itself better and stronger. It's supposed to make the food pipe flow better.. if that makes any sense..:ganjamon: I thought that was what you meant, but when you said pinch the top it kinda threw me.. No worries, it will be a she, keep pampering it and you may confuse it into a he/she...

Heck yeah man, THX!. Couldn't hurt at all!! lol

Wanted to update with a few pix.

Here's a group shot. They are doing well under the 400w MH.

OK Be IRIE, I leaned the Indica back and crimped it. I also tied a fan out of the way so I could open up the middle and get some light down in there. I'm seeing some bushing action already. Just hit it with 1/2 strength GB and 1/2 strength BB. Didn't want to pamper it too much. ;)

Here it is at 30 days from seed..

The Sativa/hydrids are catching up but I suspect a couple of 'em are male. I'm LSTing those a little as well..

So far, so good!! :smokin:

Ohhh yeah looking good Mr. Harry......You going to sneak a clone off and sex it or ride it out until it shows? Some of the hybrids are looking like they are more Indica than Sativa.... I can't wait to watch them grow up..... :ganjamon:

Hi Harry looking lovely mate, and thanks for showing me them clips ) ive been useing ducktape and i cant re use that like the clips,i must addmit for me at the moment the fun is training the plants to form an even canopy to make best use of the available light.:smokin:
best regards...creamm :peace:

Thanks Y'all!!

This stage is the easy part thought. It's the last 6 weeks that seem to be the toughest for me. Moving to Tiger Bloom & Big Bloom almost exclusively during the flowering stage doesn't seem to work that well for me. I'd really like to go with more balanced organics until later in the flowering stages, then hit 'em with Tiger Bloom or some organic equivalent, I'm thinking the Age Old products might do the trick for me. Any suggestions?

Someone on here suggested using the binder clips and I figure it's better than drilling holes. You have a lot of control, in terms of positioning, with the clips.

Yeah Be IRIE, a couple of those Hybrids definitely have some Indica in them, one plant more than the others. If I find a good candidate for a clone from that big Indica, I'll take it but I figure I can clone almost anytime so I may wait until it shows sex during 12/12.

Harry I used Age Old Organics "Grow" for my Vegging on my current grow. Grow Big wasn't cutting the mustard. Plants looked N hungry. During Flowering I used TB 10ml EVERY watering and added Grow Big into the mix for Weeks 3 and 4 rather than Age Old. Plants loved it. Tips got very slightly cooked but thats fine with me in that phase of the grow. You can see it it my pics. I highly recommend Age Old Grow. I love the container it comes in to. SO much I actually found empty ones online to put my FF products in so I could use to measure them. If you are interseted PM me and I'll point you to them.

I actually never flushed per se. I put 2 gallons of pH'd nute mix through each pot. and let it drain real well through a grate into another bucket. I feel like this way you get to flush the salts and deposit more nutes every watering and the soil maintains a more stable nute/low salt mixture. It was just something I tried and seemed to work well for me. Just thought I'd share.

I use the binder clips around my 5 gallon pots with good success. Get the small ones. The you can use them to clip up your harvest afterwards to. Staples sells a gross of them for like 6 bucks, free delivery. :peace:

Age old are good, I use grow and bloom. Look at some of the "peace of mind" line.just adds a little more variety to the mix... Some strains don't like all the chemicals.... Binder clips make LSTing a breeze and they make good splints too... :peace:

Thanks for the info on Age Old products Be & Mc!!

I think I'm gonna pick up a qrt each of the grow & bloom formulas. My "stategery" on the LST grow was to continue using the Grow Big along the way and hitting them good around the weeks 4 & 5. That seemed to keep the N up and I was able move on to Tiger Bloom and hit them with full strength at the end. Still, I'd like to move to all organics for the most part. Maybe hit them with some good chemical finishing nutes in the late stages of flowering.

Thanks for the +reps TitusCrow. I'm just using plain old cotton twine for now but it's kinda thin and you need to adjust it so it doesn't cut into the branches, especially early on. Some people have suggested using yard or ribbon to avoid that problem. I've just been adjusting as I go.

Great stuff to tie up any plants is women's stockings, cut them into little rings, and loop them around the plant stem.:peace:

Thanks Ms.Fox.

No way to really determine sex early on Smokin_Kush!. All things being equal though, males tend to grow fast and be more lanky.

I wanted to post a few more boring veg pix. :smokin:

They are growing fast now..

The Indica is busing nicely and looking pretty stacked (33 days from seed).

The Hybrids are coming right along. Nice thick main stems on these.

I'm pretty happy with my quest for Indica dominance so far in this grow. Even the hybrids look like they may cooperate. ;)

Now that I've bored everyone with veg pix, here's some bud porn. :yummy:

This is a good Sativa at 3 weeks into flowering but it's sure gonna be big. It's got a bunch of 3'-4' colas so maybe it won't outgrow the bucket. We shall see..

Here's the two moms that I'm flowering at around 6 weeks into 12/12.

I'll harvest these these two when the Indicas are ready to flower. My plan is to put the Indica and one/two of the hybrids user the 600w and switch the 400 watt to 12/12 and keep one/two of the hybrids under there. Of course, it all depends on how many males/hermies might appear. I'm hoping for at least 3 of 5 females, with the big Indica being one of those females.

Ah, the best laid plans of mice and men.... ;)

I had a really nice one rolled but I lost it about an hour ago. :smokin:

The search is on!! :grinjoint:
